      The mid-autumn festival is a small long holiday, and medium and short-distance travels account for the majority. Take three days to enjoy a rare holiday. In order not to waste time, I did a lot of homework, and decided to go to the central part of Shanxi Province. It is necessary to make preparations in advance, not only in a hurry, but also to have a good time. As it turned out, my travel plans were still very fruitful, and our family had a great time.

      I would like to share my travel experience with you, hoping to have some reference value for you.

Jinci half day

DAY 1 

First of all, choose the appropriate transportation method to reach Taiyuan, the provincial capital. The transportation here is convenient, and there are many cars going to Pingyao.

Transportation: Take a car to Jinci Temple (about 30 kilometers, about 30 minutes)

           Take a taxi from Taiyuan Station--Jinci Temple (about 80 yuan)

           The bus is time-consuming and not recommended (about 2 hours)

Destination: Jinci Museum

The earliest surviving royal garden in China is the Jin State Ancestral Hall. There are dozens of ancient buildings in the temple, which has the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture. It is located in Jinci Town, Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. There are dozens of ancient buildings and a beautiful environment. It is a collection of ancient Chinese sacrificial buildings, gardens, sculptures, murals, The art of inscriptions is a precious historical and cultural heritage, and it is also the center of world architecture, gardens, and sculpture art. Among them, the Nanlaoquan, the statue of the maid, and the statue of the Virgin are known as the "three wonders of Jinci Temple".

Destination: Pingyao Ancient City

The ancient city of Pingyao is one of the four ancient cities in my country. It is as famous as the ancient city of Huizhou in Anhui, the ancient city of Langzhong in Sichuan, and the ancient city of Lijiang in Yunnan. The ancient city of Pingyao used to be the financial center of China in the late Qing Dynasty. Today, the streets, shops and houses in the ancient city still maintain the traditional layout and style. Walking into this once prosperous ancient city, you can feel the atmosphere of Shanxi merchant culture everywhere. When the Qing Dynasty fell, even the imperial court had to borrow money from the bank, which shows the prosperity of Shanxi merchants. The beef in the ancient city of Pingyao is very famous. The Empress Dowager Cixi once passed through Pingyao in the late Qing Dynasty. After eating Pingyao beef, she liked it very much and praised it.

Pingyao Ancient Government Office

Pingyao Ancient County Government Office, located in the center of the ancient city, was the official office where Pingyao County Magistrate handled cases. It was first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, and it is a well-preserved one among the surviving ancient government offices in our country. No matter in terms of architectural layout or function setting, it can be called the epitome of the imperial palace. Various ancient documents and a large number of ancient instruments of torture can be seen here. There is also a daily Shengtang performance, don't miss it if you count the time.

Synergy Qingpiaohao was founded in the sixth year of Xianfeng (1856) and closed in 1913, which lasted 58 years. The cabinet room of the Synergy Qing Bank that we see now is the basic display of the counter of the bank back then.

Ming and Qing Street is one of the most prosperous commercial streets in the ancient city. The street basically retains the remains of ancient shops, including ticket offices, banks, pawnshops, medicine shops, butcher shops, silk and satin shops and other shops. Tourists can feel the style of the ancient streets here, and they can also eat, buy special products, etc.

Visit my mother’s vinegar workshop (Song Xiaobao·Let’s Go Through the Filming Location)

The Vinegar Workshop is located at the intersection of Mingqing Street and West Street. You can see the vinegar brewing utensils, tools and clothing inside. The main purpose is to feel the atmosphere inside, which has the feeling of Water Margin, a square table, a jug of old wine, and two benches. The wine balsamic was tangy.

Kids love apple cider vinegar, it tastes like apple juice. There are also honey vinegar red date vinegar and so on.

Go to: Pingyao Ancient City Wall

Transportation: city tour bus 10 yuan/person

The ancient city wall of Pingyao is a good place to view the ancient city of Pingyao. If you are interested in climbing the ancient city wall of Pingyao, you can also see the observation holes, perforations, crenels, iron cannons and other enemy defense facilities on the top of the ancient city wall. You can go to the ancient city wall of Pingyao from the north gate, and then walk down to the ancient city wall of Pingyao by the south gate. Of course, pay attention to safety, don't stay too late, the city wall closes at 18:00, and you are not allowed to go up when it is almost there.

Of course, the half-circle distance around the ancient city is still relatively long. There are old people at home paying attention. Also, there are no protective railings in the inner circle of the ancient city, so be optimistic about your children.

The fourth stop: Qiao Family Courtyard

      With the popularity of TV dramas and becoming famous, you must hire a tour guide, otherwise it will be a waste of time. There are tour guides in the park, who explain in detail and will help us take pictures. The tour guide fee of 120 yuan is still very cost-effective. After the management of the Qiao family compound, it is more standardized, there is no mess, and everything is better! After all, the impact from 5A to 4A is relatively large.

      Returning to the ancient city of Pingyao, because the living conditions near the Qiao’s compound are limited, and the ancient city of Pingyao is relatively close, so returning to the ancient city of Pingyao after visiting the Qiao’s compound is an excellent choice.

Night tour of the ancient city

It is said that the night view of the ancient city is good. After drinking and eating, I come out of the inn, walk from Mingqing Street to Ximen, and then return along the original road. There are few food stalls on the road, only a huge long snack at the intersection of East and West Streets and Ximen street. The snack street brings together hundreds of snacks, which are very unsuitable for weight loss. My sister said that you should not come to this kind of place at night, which is very bad for weight loss haha.

Snacks along the way have never stopped, especially the millet mooncake, a particularly crispy noodle shell, you can take it home to eat.

 

Summarize

      During the three-day trip, the focus of the visit is actually in the ancient city of Pingyao. The Jinci Temple and the Wang Family Courtyard are two of the more elite attractions around the ancient city of Pingyao. Mianshan, Zhangbi Castle, etc., if you don’t have enough time to visit so many places, you can choose two more elite attractions to visit. After three days of playing, it is a pity that I did not invite a tour guide in the ancient city of Pingyao. Sometimes it will be more rewarding to listen to the tour guide's explanation, but each scenic spot has a special guide, and it is okay not to invite a tour guide.
