written in front

After returning from work in Turkey, Mr. Fatty went to the next stop, Beijing; because he had been away from Yi Niu for too many days, he decided to take her with him when he went to work in Beijing this time. Just in time for the National Day, it happened to let Niuer feel the autumn in the capital on such a special day.

Autumn in the imperial capital should be the most comfortable time of the year. Except for the slight smog on the day of arrival (what? Beijing’s slight smog = cloudy?), the sky is clear every day, and the autumn air is refreshing, which is special! The itinerary with Niuer is very Buddhist every day, and there are still many places I want to go on the list, leaving regrets for the next time.

Berry Beans Coffee Lounge

I am very interested in things with a sense of time, such as the hutongs of old Beijing, the alleys of Shanghai, and the old Hakka houses in Guangzhou. I saw this cafe on the Internet where you can climb the roof, so I wanted to check it out.

Berrybeanscoffee Lounge is not far from the hotel. Get off at the entrance of the alley and walk slowly along the alley. You can take girls to see the most urban life in Beijing. The hutongs in the living area do not have the commercial taste of Nanluo Ancient Alley at all. Some old people play chess outside the yard, play with birds, and pick up their grandchildren from school. This is one of the countless ordinary days.

After entering the door, there is a traditional courtyard house. The layout inside is smaller than expected, a little cramped, but the style is very simple and fresh. After ordering, you can go to sit on the eaves of the Hutong on the second floor. The view is very good, and you can have a panoramic view of the whole Hutong block.

Recently, it is very popular in Beijing to go to the alleys to uncover the roof tiles, and take Niuer to climb up the eaves carefully to see what old Beijing looks like. The children regarded it as a slide, and had a great time the whole time.

Yangmeizhu Xiejie

When I saw the name of Yangmeizhu Xiejie when I was doing the guide, I already felt a strong literary atmosphere. I learned that Grandpa Shen Congwen once lived here, so I included this thoughtful alley as one of the must-see places in Beijing.

Yangmeizhu Xiejie is not far from the Zhujiajiao Hutong we visited the day before. It starts from Meishi Street in the east and ends at Yanshou Street in the west. Because the street slopes from northeast to southwest, it is called Xiejie.

Niu'er always wakes up early, arrives early in the morning, and runs into some grandparents basking in the sun outside. Pass some old houses with white bricks and gray tiles, covered with ivy, but feel the vitality in autumn.

In a short street, there are many surprising small shops hidden on this street with a sense of age, which need to be visited one by one.

Share some impressive ones:

Soloist Coffee

An industrial-style coffee shop, the door was not opened when passing by, and the chic decoration inside the cafe can be seen through the large glass windows. The retro American style, I especially like it recently, it is very suitable for taking pictures. Looking at the sharing of some netizens, the position here can be called a landscape position, sitting on the terrace drinking coffee, watching the scenery, chatting, reading, and spending an afternoon leisurely.

model bookstore

This is a place where many literati used to haunt. The entire bookstore reveals a style of the Republic of China from the outside of the building, retaining the temperament of the Peking period. There are many thread-bound books in the book collection, and some books autographed by the authors in the boss's collection, which suddenly feels like time travel.

Suzuki Cafeteria

When it was almost time for dinner, I took Niuer to the online celebrity shop - Suzuki Cafeteria to try my luck. There were already some people waiting outside. After entering the door, the wooden window frames and Japanese-style houses greet you. The harmony of the Japanese wind allows you to enjoy the coolness in summer and the snow in winter.

After the door opened at 11:30, because it was fully booked, I chose the seats in the outer courtyard for dinner. I took a few random photos while waiting, and when there were few people, I could take pictures of pretending to be in Japan.

I randomly ordered a few dishes according to Niu'er's preferences, and they were all very delicious. As an online celebrity shop in the imperial capital, the price is relatively affordable.

Forbidden City

When I was a sophomore, I went to see the Forbidden City in snowy weather. Since I came to the capital, of course I would take Niuer to make a pilgrimage to the Forbidden City to see the profound and profound ancient cultural essence of our country (in fact, it is a follow-up to the strategy of Yanxi Palace. ..)

The Forbidden City can only be entered from the Meridian Gate, all the way from south to north. After buying a ticket to enter the Forbidden City, I found that Niu'er had fallen asleep unconsciously. There were too many tourists in the tour group on the main road, so I pushed her all the way to the side door, and found some unmanned angles. The photos I took had fewer tourists but did not lose the atmosphere.

At first I wanted to catch the heat and came to the Forbidden City to take a set of family photos of the imperial concubine, but I couldn't find the right clothes, so I chose Hanfu as the next best thing, and I even felt a little bright (a palace lady).

The light and shadow of the Forbidden City under the setting sun is particularly beautiful. The light spots are printed against the red wall, and there is a sudden feeling of loneliness in the deep palace.

After Niu'er woke up, she took her back from the north gate and patted her along the way.

After having Yi Niu, I really like to take all kinds of parent-child photos. Looking back at these photos, I am always full of emotions; the growth of a child is irreversible, and I always want to give her more company and more good memories. Traveling together with parents and children is a way that belongs to us.

Hutong Courtyard B&B

This time I am traveling with a girl, so the accommodation is mainly in hotels with convenient transportation; at the same time, I also really want to experience the old Beijing lifestyle in traditional hutongs, so I stayed in a small hutong homestay next to the Forbidden City.

As soon as you enter the door, there is a narrow bamboo forest path, which feels like a winding path leading to a secluded place. I am looking forward to whether the small courtyard behind is what I imagined.

Although the yard is small, it is very unique. The old house is made of blue bricks and blue tiles, with green plants everywhere, very quiet. Yi Niu found a kettle with sharp eyes, and curiously sprinkled water on the plants.

The room is Japanese-style, very simple, with a small alley courtyard, the overall feeling of staying is very good. There is a large desk in the room, which is very convenient for me to deal with the piles of customer pictures after Niuer falls asleep at night.

At first, I was attracted by the independent terrace of the Hutong courtyard, which is similar to the roof of berrybeanscoffee. There are less hustle and bustle of tourists here, and more tranquility.

Early in the morning, I took Niuer to the terrace to watch the scenery. The autumn morning was slightly cold, but the light was very good. The roof here is not as steep as berry's, and it is even difficult to sit down; the roof here is very flat, and I climbed up to the roof, and Niuer looked at me anxiously from below; I took some rare photos against the sun single photo.

Sanlitun Chunli Dining Company

I asked a young lady to take a group of Hong Kong-style photos, so I found this online celebrity Hong Kong-style restaurant—Chunli Food Company.

There are some advertisements pasted in traditional red characters at the entrance, which already has a strong Hong Kong style feel.

After entering the door and going up the stairs, I was immediately attracted by the pink neon lights inside, which read the words of the shelter for drunkenness. The decoration of the store reveals the elements of old Hong Kong tea restaurants everywhere, and the nostalgic Hong Kong flavor of TVB is there no matter how it is shot.

The restaurant opens at 5:30. I ordered a bowl of Chezi noodles and a bottle of Arctic Ocean, a Beijing specialty. The taste was surprisingly good.

Tsinghua University

This time, because of travel photography work, I went to Tsinghua University to help clients take wedding photos, a very beautiful campus. Because the client is a Ph.D student at Tsinghua University, so I took Mr. Fat and me to every corner of the school, which allowed me to discover some inconspicuous but particularly beautiful places.

Starting from the main teaching building, we walked all the way to the second school gate, followed the road to the moonlight in the lotus pond described by Grandpa Zhu Ziqing, and then to the plaque of Shuimu Tsinghua University.

I accidentally passed by and found this coniferous forest. The light at noon is very good, and the photos are very forest-like; this is just a very ordinary forest on the Tsinghua campus.

Along the way, you can see old teaching buildings covered by creepers, old mottled red walls, and some cultural relics buildings left over from the Qing Dynasty, all telling the long history of this century-old school.

I went to the school cafeteria for lunch and experienced the long-lost college life.

Surprisingly, I found that the canteen of Tsinghua University also has a sense of design, with a large area of clean white and an instant visual sense of ins style.

Wudaoying Hutong

When you come to Beijing, apart from the poi/3474.htmlForbidden City, what you love the most is visiting all kinds of alleys, big and small. I went to poi/8078908.htmlYangmeizhu Xiejie before, another destination on the list is poi/4089.htmlclass=link_j_keyword_poidata-kw=Wudaoying Hutong>Wudaoying Hutong. Because of work, I don't have time to wander around slowly, but the photos I took are still beautiful.

poi/4089.htmlclass=link_j_keyword_poidata-kw=Wudaoying Hutong>Wudaoying Hutong is just across from the Lama Temple, just outside the subway, so it’s very easy to find. The whole street feels completely different from poi/8078908.htmlYangmeizhu Xiejie. This place is like Nanluoguxiang, which was not commercialized many years ago. There are many beautiful small shops and cafes on both sides of the small street. From the ordinary entrance, walking into the store is full of surprises everywhere.

To take a photo of a cute girl, we spent half a day in the alley, taking pictures while shopping, and found many interesting shops; tired of walking, we went to the cafe on the roof to have a rest, and bask in the sun with the cat lovers.

Beiluoguxiang

If you don't have time to go to the small alleys, you can arrange to go to the Beiluo Ancient Alley in the north when you visit Nanluoguxiang. Just one street apart, Beiluo Ancient Alley lost sight of tourists in an instant and became quiet all of a sudden.

Without the commercial atmosphere of Nanluoguxiang opposite, this street is full of good shops and specialty cafes. I took my girl to stop and go in the alley to find some places to take pictures.

Extra Story - Beidaihe Aranya

Taking advantage of the free time when I came to Beijing for filming work, I chose to go on a two-day, one-night excursion to Aranya Community in Beidaihe. Only two hours away from Beijing by train, you can enjoy the blue sea.

The sea in the north is really different from the sea in Shenzhen. The temperature in October is already a little low, but it doesn't affect our enthusiasm at all.

We were going to shoot early in the morning in an unoccupied auditorium, but we didn’t arrive at the beach until after nine o’clock because of Yi Niu’s accidental stay in bed. There were so many people taking pictures, we needed to find a shooting angle to avoid the crowd. The photos taken simply are super Japanese!

fragments of some travel

I am very fortunate that my friends often come to me and Mr. Fat for travel photography. I can take advantage of the opportunity to go out to work and take Niuer out for a walk. I hope she can broaden her horizons since she was a child. These travel experiences, although her memory will gradually become blurred, have played a subtle role in her growth. These are all things we can deeply feel after our parent-child travel in the past two years, and our travel will continue.
