Do you believe? Even the soil on the moon can be dug back today,

Surprisingly, there is still a group of people who use the most primitive method to win high-quality jade through gambling.

I always thought that betting on stones was a thing of the last century, until I came to Ruili, walked into the night market, and saw a sea of people lying on the ground, shining on an inconspicuous stone.

I'm lost, is it true that technology can't judge? Or for some other reason, I haven't figured it out until today.

Really gold has a price, jade is priceless

This is why I like driving by myself. It can let you discover a lot of unconventional people and things, which is very interesting.

Do the math, this is already the 7th self-driving with my family~ Let’s take a look at this itinerary.

A total of 10 days, 8 days by car.

Shanghai to Lijiang, train to Dali. Rent a car in Dali, pass through Tengchong, Ruili, Mangshi in turn, and finally return to Dali, the whole journey is 1200 kilometers. This line is also called "Dianxi Line", which means west of Yunnan.

Along the way, Lujiangba Bridge

In the service area of Lujiangba Bridge, there is a viewing platform inside, where you can see the panoramic view of the bridge in the picture above.

Tengchong, the Soul Land of Western Yunnan

Tengchong was originally a county, but in 2015 it was changed to Tengchong City, which was managed by Baoshan City. But Tengchong is so famous that Baoshan City has no status at all.

Heshun Ancient Town

So far, this is the only one I have seen that, for the convenience of others, took out its own bathroom for free.

When I see these words when I can't hold back, I will be really moved to cry.

There are at least dozens of ancient towns in Yunnan, large and small. I have been to the ancient town of Lijiang before, and this time I came to the ancient town of Dali, Xizhou, and Shuanglang. Heshun Ancient Town".

The thing that makes me most comfortable is that his business and the local area are just right, so I don’t have to worry about the whole street being filled with the same Yiwu goods. On the contrary, what I see here is their daily life. Washing vegetables by the river with the baby.

The coffee shop and companion shop seem to be opened by the way, and the coffee is mostly local Yunnan arabic coffee.

alley

Thin bean flour, the product of fermented peas, similar to bean curd, a scone + thin bean flour, is their daily breakfast.

There used to be a bar street in the ancient town near the Wild Duck Lake, but it is now closed.

There is a tavern on the main street, which is a century-old house and can be visited for free. The logo is a red lantern on the outer wall, and it becomes their home field as soon as it gets dark. Many people came to take pictures.

Heshun Library

One of the largest rural libraries in China, it was founded by overseas Chinese in 1924, and it is almost 100 years old~

In 2006, the library was approved by the State Council to be included in the "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit".

When I first came in, I thought it was an old site that was no longer in operation. After all, it was almost 100 years ago... When I looked at the newspapers, they were all up-to-date, and there was also a borrowing area.

Wild Duck Lake

Ai Siqi Memorial Hall

Ai Siqi, born in Tengchong, is a very powerful philosopher, the first person in China to study and promote Marxist philosophy.

And in order to let us Chinese people understand the obscure Marxist philosophy, he wrote a lot of easy-to-understand articles, so he is also known as "the first person to popularize philosophy".

The two on the right are two autographed letters that Mao Zedong once gave him.

Caravan Museum

Tengchong Hot Spring

At first I didn’t have much imagination about Tengchong hot springs, but now I really feel that the hot springs in Yunnan are seriously underestimated, and the promotional firepower is not enough~

When people mention hot springs, they only think of Japan. When you mention Yunnan, you only think of Erhai Lake, but the hot spring here is obviously one of the six largest hot springs in the world! And it is on the same level as Beppu in Japan and Yellowstone Park in the United States.

The picture below is the Hell Valley Hot Spring in Noboribetsu, Japan, which I went to in 2018. It is a very vivid hell.

Compared with Noboribetsu, Atami Onsen is quite a lot better.

Originally, Atami Hot Springs could be played with hot air balloons, but the hot air balloons were closed after the accident. (The staff member falls from the hot air balloon and is gone)

These steams are produced by hot springs

The sulfur smell is very strong, and the ground is constantly bubbling.

Soaked in a hot spring that claims to cure infertility

The top of the mountain is the "Hot Sea Boiling Pot", the water temperature is close to 100 degrees.

One of the Eighteen Monsters in Yunnan "sells eggs on skewers". Peanuts and potatoes are boiled in hot springs.

The foot bath is 50 yuan per person, and the aunt scoops a bucket of hot spring directly from the big boiling pot.

Recommend a local dish

"Youfen Restaurant" is a local restaurant opened by local villagers. In the ancient town, the online rating is not high, but the taste is quite amazing. Especially their "earth pot" and "sauerkraut roast pork".

"Sauerkraut Roasted Pork" is a cold dish. The taste of the roasted meat surpasses that of many Hong Kong-style roast meat restaurants. It is very enjoyable to mix slices with local sauerkraut.

"Earth Pot" is similar to a hot pot, with chicken soup as the base and a lot of ingredients in it. The top layer is covered with pigskin that has absorbed the soup and is very fresh.

Ruili, the country's largest stone gambling market

Ruili City, in the southwest corner of Yunnan, on the border with Myanmar, is alsoChina's largest stone gambling market.

Apart from Wuhan, Ruili is the second city in China to be locked down during this epidemic. It is said that there was a Burmese man who could not be treated locally and smuggled to Ruili, which led to the closure of the city.

Before the epidemic, the distance between them and us was just a thin line, and they didn't even know that they crossed the border with each other, such as the village below.

One village and two countries

As the name suggests, one village has two countries, which is very interesting. Except for the boundary markers, the national borders are basically blocked with simple barbed wire. And through the iron net, the villagers in Myanmar can see clearly.

The suspected abandoned bridge between the two countries.

Outside the iron fence is Myanmar~ Swing on a swing and go out of the country.

Watching Burmese children paralyzed playing games from a distance.

car in myanmar

Boundary markers, which used to be passable, are now sealed off due to the epidemic.

Why don't we say that our country can do business and set up a scenic spot on the border. Myanmar is still a village.

betting stone market

The biggest achievement of Ruili this time is seeing the gambling stone market. If I hadn’t come, I would never have believed that even the soil of the moon can be dug back today. There are still such a group of people lying on the ground and holding a flashlight. The lamp illuminates an unremarkable stone, imagining the priceless emerald inside.

These stones also have a name - rough stone.

Every night, tens of thousands of people here want to get rich overnight. The seller offered 120,000 yuan, the buyer reached 10,000 yuan, and the final transaction happened every day. So what a weird deal, it's normal here.

There is a saying in their industry: one knife is poor, one knife is rich, and one knife wears linen. So it is often rumored here that someone spent 100,000 yuan to open a 2 million jadeite. Who went bankrupt again, ended up with nothing, and jumped off the building. Just like the stock market.

According to the local people, these stones were all shipped from Myanmar, regardless of their country, and then they were mined frantically and shipped to our country.

There are 2 markets in Ruili, Jiegao Port and Dehong. This is Dehong. The market is divided into 2 areas, one for rough stones and one for finished products.

Location: Navigate to [Dehong Hotel], starting at 17:00 every night.

A forest of lonely trees

Journey to the West 24 episode Jade Rabbit Jing's filming location, the whole scenic spot is not big, but it is easy to produce a film, it has the flavor of a fantasy forest.

Sister sued the port

There is nothing to watch here, the main thing is to look at the port. If there is no epidemic, you can go to Myanmar from here, and now everything is closed.

There is a duty-free shop next to it, there are no discounts, and the inside is deserted and miserable.

Mangshi, Yunnan Southeast Asia

In a city with the best fruit, a cup of freshly squeezed mango juice is 10 yuan, and avocado, also known as butter fruit in the local area, is also 10 yuan a cup.

Shwedagon Pagoda

At the top, you can see the whole Mangshi.

big silver pagoda

Just next to the Shwedagon Pagoda, I didn't have enough time, so I didn't go.

Dali, or Dali

Except for Shanghai and Beijing, Dali probably has the most coffee shops. In a place as big as a palm, we found more than 100... I punched in the top few, and the environment is very good.

Tang coffee

Dali Ancient Town

The initial impression of Dali is still known from "The Eight Parts of the Dragon". Up to now, I still remember Duan Zhengchun who had 18 wives, and the embarrassed Duan Yu found out that all he likes are his younger sisters...

Although it is difficult to feel the local fireworks in Dali now, the history and culture it carries cannot be ignored.

Moreover, the ancient city of Dali was the political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan during the Tang and Song Dynasties.

The Dali Bed Sheet Factory has now been transformed into an art district.

Shangcang Mountain and Erhai Lake

The road next to the T-shaped mouth of Dali University is the best interpretation of Dali. The Erhai Lake is in front of the road and Cangshan Mountain is behind the road.

Location: Hongsheng Road, Dali University (near the ancient city people's court)

The poster of the movie "Prosperity is Coming" was also taken here.

Longkan Wharf - Blowing the Sea Breeze to Feed the Red-billed Gulls

From Dali University to Longkan Wharf, about 8km. In the past few years, Erhai Lake has been rectified, ecological corridors have been built along the coast, and some roads on the "West Huanhai Road" are still under construction, but it does not affect it.

Flocks of red-billed gulls are so bold that they directly peck at the hands.

The sea breeze is very, very strong, no matter what hairstyle, chaos is the destination.

It is autumn and it is also winter.

Recommend a local dish

"Awang's Private Kitchen" is a local farm dish recommended by the owner of the inn. If you can't eat spicy food, you must tell the boss in advance.

Wrapped tofu and stir-fried beef are recommended.

Xizhou, rely on papa fire

Since Xizhou Baba became popular in China on the tip of the tongue, this little-known ancient town of Xizhou became popular all of a sudden. In fact, Xizhou Ancient Town is on the other side of Shuanglang Ancient Town, which is surrounded by Erhai Lake.

On the way to Xizhou Ancient Town, there are always aunts waving and selling Baba on the side of the road.

The locals say that the ones baked in the stove are more local than the ones baked in the electric oven, and there are two flavors: sweet and salty.

I ate a stove-roasted salty, very crispy, very strong rapeseed oil flavor.

In addition to the tip of the tongue, there is Zhou Xun, Liu Wen's big cousin, and Aya's variety show "Nice to Meet You", which made Xizhou directly out of the circle.

At the end of December, the fall fairytale turns into early winter chocolate.

Xizhou Sunrise

Compared with Shuanglang, Xizhou is more suitable for watching the sunrise.

Recommended Local Dishes—Pen Yi Le

"Peng Yi Le" is a hot pot restaurant opened by local villagers and has a very high rating. It stands to reason that there are no yaks in Dali, and hot pot is not their specialty. They do not have the right time and location, but they only rely on people and harmony to become the number one local delicacy.

After chatting with the proprietress, I discovered that the secret of success is by no means accidental.

In the early years, they had been doing odd jobs in other provinces, and they couldn't save much money all year round. Later, the proprietress went to Lijiang, Yunnan, to run errands in the back kitchen of a restaurant. With this run, she ran out of an opportunity to change her fate. Thanks to the chef's guidance, she learned to make yak hot pot. Later, after discussing with my husband, I went back to my hometown in Xizhou to open a yak hotpot restaurant. As soon as this idea came out, the relatives and neighbors around laughed out loud, saying that this is not a special dish in Yunnan, and how can tourists eat it.

After thinking about it, they took out all their savings and decided to give it a try. In fact, this is very difficult for rural people. If it is not done, it means that all the money will be wasted.

The proprietress also said that in order to ensure the authenticity and freshness of the yak meat, they come from the cold chain in Lijiang every day. It is also because of the requirement of fresh ingredients that the restaurant has become popular today.

It was only after I came that I found out that Wu Zhenyu and Ren Suxi had been here, and Wu Zhenyu also said a very high evaluation: "This is the most comfortable meal I have eaten in Yunnan." Hahahaha... I guess this old man Also can't eat spicy food.

The owner of this restaurant is also naive. Such a big star has been here before, and he didn't make a poster to put it at the door. The online reviews are almost all spontaneous recommendations like mine. (I asked them about these photos, and they took them out of their phones and showed them to me)

Moshang Garden Restaurant

The style of the restaurant is as its name suggests, with transparent glass all around and the roof, and the dried flowers and leaves are hung on the roof, which complements the flowers on the ground. The table and chairs were randomly found a piece of wood and split in half, placed among the flowers, Jungle lunch? Well, that's probably how it feels.

However, the taste of his food is average, mainly due to the environment.

In addition to the restaurant, the owner also runs an inn, which is also the filming location of "Nice to Meet You". The boss is very polite and specially let us visit. The inn is a classic Bai nationality dwelling built in the form of a closed courtyard with "three rooms and one screen wall" and "four in five patios". There are many unnamed but beautiful flowers around the courtyard. What kind of feeling does it have, like living in a fairy.

Shuanglang Ancient Town

From Xizhou to Shuanglang, about 30 kilometers. Shuanglang was developed early, and the commercial flavor is relatively strong. This ancient town is very long, with a straight-line distance of 3 kilometers, and halfway through, I was discouraged.

Nanzhao Customs Island

Nanzhao Style Island is the biggest surprise of Shuanglang. The scenery seen on the island is completely different from that on land.

You have to take a ferry to and from the island. There are many shifts, which is very convenient.

There are many photo bases with very good perspectives on the island. The whole island is not big, and the ferry goes back and forth. It takes 1.5 hours to visit all of them.

The hometown of hand-tied dyeing

In the ancient town, there are many tie-dye clothes, bags, and handicrafts in the style of the Bai people. In fact, they all originated from the hometown of tie-dye——Zhoucheng Village.

The plant raw material for tie-dyeing is Banlangen, which is the Banlangen we drink. As early as the Tang Dynasty, tie-dye was a representative of fashion and once became a tribute to the imperial palace.

Later, due to comprehensive factors such as high cost and low output, it was gradually replaced by chemical dyes.

But after all, this is the wisdom of our ancestors. Fortunately, it was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.

The itinerary is coming to an end, I have been driving for 8 days, and I am sleepy.
