silent encounter

Bruno Walport

"You may not have heard of Bruno Walport, but chances are you've come across his work somewhere on social media."

His wooden figures always lower their eyebrows, or cast their eyes in an unnamed direction. They seem to have a consistent solitude and stillness.

They were pale, weak, and unhappy, and it was difficult for anyone who saw them to forget them.

Bruno is known as one of the greatest woodcarvers of this century. He was born in the valley of the Dolomites in Italy in 1959. At the age of 14, he began to work as an apprentice in a well-known local woodcarving workshop. In 1978, he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany, where he studied under the German sculptor Hans Landner.

On March 5, 2019, Bruno Walpoud's first touring solo exhibition in Asia was held at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Dongfang Shengda Culture Hotel (Nanluoguxiang)

What kind of existence is a homestay located in an alley?

Lush green leaves, blue tiles and white walls, natural and free, calm and peaceful. Light up the two lanterns under the plaque, as if to tell every resident here: this is your home.

Hutong is now the most distinctive "one scene in the capital" and a place where local people have lived for generations. Different from the royal mansion with vermilion atmosphere, it is more beautiful and plain with "green tiles and gray walls reflecting the vermilion gate".

The down-to-earth city life, street shops, and ordinary alleys intertwined with cooking smoke are a quiet place amidst the hustle and bustle. Dongfang Shengda, who grew up in the imperial capital, incorporated the strong fireworks of old Beijing into it.

Living here, maybe you will experience a different Hutong life. Less hustle and bustle, more peace and leisure. Isolated from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, there is a sense of peace and tranquility here.

Whether it is the layout or the decoration style, it has a strong Chinese flavor. Living here is like returning to Beijing a hundred years ago, full of antique flavor and elegance.

The clean and hygienic bathing space makes you feel comfortable and at ease away from home. The color matching of the cold and windy style shows a sense of high-end. Living in Dongfang Shengda, you can experience elegance and light luxury. Here, every place is carefully prepared for you.
