I have followed Chen Kun's public welfare activity "The Power of Walking" for many years. I especially agree with the spirit of "finding your inner strength by walking". Although there is no chance to participate in the real "walking power" public welfare activities. But I also decided to find the strength to walk for myself.
walking diary
D1. Malcolm
After 6 hours of driving, we arrived at the first stop - Maerkang. Malkang is the state capital of Aba Prefecture, which is long along the river. I ate Tibetan food at noon. The Tibetan hot pot and shredded meat were delicious, but I couldn't accept the taste of the authentic buttered tea.
After lunch, we went to Zhuo Keji Tibetan Village and Xisuo Residential House, and also went to the Red Army Long March Memorial Hall. It is quite appropriate to go to such a memorial hall on National Day.
D2. Seda
After another six-hour drive, we arrived at the second stop - Seda.
Braving the sleet to walk up to the celestial burial platform. The muddy road and icy rain added a lot of sanctity to the ongoing sky burial. Many friends said they were afraid of seeing sky burials. In fact, when you understand the meaning of sky burial, you will feel the sacredness of reincarnation. No photography is allowed anywhere on the sky burial site to show respect for the deceased. There are no images left, but the shocking scene will remain in my mind.
After watching the sky burial scene, the sleet fell even more. Wet my clothes and backpack. There is no road on the steep mountain, so I can only slide down the mountain slowly, and my pants are wet. When I finally got back to the car, I was shivering from the cold. Drinking a sip of hot water immediately is the most beautiful enjoyment when it is cold.
The beef offal soup pot eaten in Seda County for dinner is extremely delicious!
After dinner, drive to Wuming Buddhist Academy to see the night view of the largest Buddhist Academy of Tibetan Buddhism. The red houses in the mountains are quiet in the dark, only the faint lights are left to accompany the monks to rest.
Today's walking is a kind of sacred persistence.
D3. Seda
When I woke up early in the morning, Seda gave me a big surprise—the roof of the car, the roof, the trees, and the mountains were all white—it was snowing! Although the weather was cold, I was still moved by the beautiful snow scene, so I picked up the camera and took pictures for a while.
Went to Wuming Buddhist College again. When we arrived, the sky had cleared up, and the sun on the plateau was so hard to open our eyes. With such fine weather, the red house of Wuming Buddhist College looks even more beautiful. Hike up the mountain and arrive at the Buddhist Academy, where many monks chant scriptures and practice. From time to time on the way, you can see pious people who kowtow to this place. There is always a heart of awe towards such a person.
Hiking up the mountain, also hiking down the mountain. Hiking up and down the mountain on a plateau at an altitude of nearly 4,000 meters, I did it. There are few words along the way. meditate.
After descending from the Buddhist Academy, we rushed to Danba. Pass through Luhuo, Daofu and Bamei. I am amazed by the Yala Snow Mountain in Daofu. It is a great honor to be able to see such a natural snow-capped mountains and grasslands during this Tibetan tour.
At around 7:00 p.m., the car had reached the China Panda Avenue, 80 kilometers away from Danba County. We drove for 7 hours on this 80-kilometer road. At 2 o'clock in the morning, I finally arrived at the Luowo Zangjia Inn in Jiaju Tibetan Village, Danba. The Tibetan wooden house is very warm, and I fall asleep when I am tired.
D4. Danba, Tagong, Xinduqiao
The most famous thing in Danba is the Valley of Beauty. According to the locals, there are no more beauties in the Valley of Beauty...but there are still many beauties on the streets of Danba~
Jiaju Tibetan Village is a large village group composed of several Tibetan villages. Tibetan-style watchtowers are built on the mountain, which is very distinctive.
We live in a small village in Tibet. The Tibetan courtyard is very beautiful, and the owner is very enthusiastic. Since there is a section of the Panda Avenue from Seda to Danba under construction, the traffic jam is very serious. We arrived at the Luowo Zangjia Inn in the Jiaju Tibetan Village of Danba at two o'clock in the morning. However, the owner of the inn waited patiently for our arrival, which is really appreciated.
Woke up naturally after 4 hours of sleep. Open the curtains and overlook the snow-capped mountains. I ate the breakfast made by the boss in the small courtyard of the inn, and chatted with other travellers. It was very interesting to talk about the road closure of Zheduo mountain during the National Day holiday, which affected the plans of many travelers around and each other's travel.
After breakfast, visit Jiaju Tibetan Village and drive to Kangding. On the way, we passed Tagong Grassland and the paradise of photographers - Xindu Bridge. Due to the clear sky and clear sky, the Tagong Grassland under the sunshine is very beautiful. But when we arrived at Xinduqiao, the weather had turned from sunny to cloudy, and there were newly built inns and restaurants everywhere, which no longer looked like a "paradise". It was already 7 o'clock in the evening when we arrived in Kangding. When I arrived at the hotel where I was staying, I asked the front desk of the hotel and recommended the "Miscellaneous Beef Hot Pot", which was super delicious!
D5. Kangding
Today's only destination - Mugecuo, well-deserved reputation!
Self-driving cars can only park in the parking lot outside the gate of the scenic spot, and then take a sightseeing bus to enter the scenic spot. When the bus drove to Mugecuo Lake, the beautiful scenery in front of me made me exclaim: "It's so beautiful!" The plateau lake is lined with the snow-capped mountains "behind", the sun shines on the lake, and there is a slight wave of light, and the high and distant white clouds are in the blue sky. Floating in the sky, the scenery is intoxicatingly beautiful!
Perhaps because of the snow in the scenic area and the sudden blizzard in Ganzi two days ago, many places were closed. There are very few tourists in Mugecuo today. It is rare that there are so few capable people during the National Day holiday. What a "lucky" word. Pick up the camera and take pictures. There are many beautiful picturesque scenery left behind.
D6. Kangding
The urban area of Kangding in the early morning is very safe. After breakfast take a walk along the river. The not-so-turbulent river flows through the hills where Buddha statues are painted but there are scriptures, everything looks so pious. There is a market along the side of the river, many merchants selling yak meat. There was also the blood of yaks on the ground. The 35 yuan a catty yak meat is super fresh, buy, buy, buy~
Paoma Mountain is located in the urban area of Kangding. A small hillside has a moving story. After driving around Mashan, we bid farewell to Kangding.
During the 6-day trip, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Ganzi Prefecture, Aba Prefecture and the Western Sichuan Plateau. I avoided almost all the traffic jams. Except for the 7-hour traffic jam on the last 80 kilometers from Seda to Danba that day due to unilateral road construction, all other passing traffic was unimpeded. Who said that there will be traffic jams when traveling by car during the National Day holiday? As long as you choose the right route, you will find Yangguan Avenue wherever you go!
Chengdu-Maerkang-Seda-Danba-Kangding-Chengdu, from the plains to the plateaus, we are the most devout walkers in the snowy regions. Back to the plains, I hope the power of walking can stay in my heart forever.
