The Western Pearl VIP Card takes you all over the small border town with Chinese characteristics - Burqin

Burqin is a county in northern Xinjiang, bordering Russia, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. But as a border city, Burqin has no port yet. And the nearest Kazakhstan border to Burqin County is also 100 kilometers away. Therefore, there is basically no border scenery in Burqin. But Burqin County itself is a small town full of exotic customs. Most of Burqin residents are Kazakhs. Kazakhs and Kazakhs belong to the same ethnic group. Kazakhstan was once an independent country before it was annexed by Tsarist Russia. It has since been a member of the Soviet Union. It was not until after the collapse of the Soviet Union that Kazakhstan became independent and became an independent country again.

Burqin, I have heard before that it is a beautiful and unique town. In fact, the Burqin I saw was really beautiful, and it was beyond my imagination. Walking on the streets of Burqin, it is hard to believe that this beautiful town is surrounded by the vast Gobi Desert. There is no train in Burqin. To Burqin, you usually take the train to Beitun City first, and then change to a passenger car to go there.

I live in Beitun City. In order to return to Beitun that day, I got on the bus bound for Burqin early in the morning. Not long after leaving Beitun, there is the vast Gobi Desert.

This is a Gobi road. Interestingly, the scenery on both sides of the road is completely different. On one side is the vast Gobi Desert, and on the other side are green forests and meadows. There is also a small river flowing through it.

Burqin is about 75 kilometers away from Beitun City. The bus drove for about 2 hours and entered the urban area of Burqin. As soon as he entered the city, the driver stopped the car. It turned out that the driver wanted to count the number of people going to Kanas for his colleagues. Kanas must be familiar to everyone. Burqin is the only way to go to Kanas. Almost all tourists go to Burqin just to go to Kanas. There are probably not many people like me who come to Burqin just to see this small town.

When I arrived in Burqin, I mainly wanted to walk on the street, so I got out of the car while the driver stopped.

The sky in Burqin was particularly blue that day, and the air was very fresh. There are not many pedestrians on the street, and the street trees are not very tall, but they look lush. There are all kinds of flowers in the separation zone between the carriageway and the sidewalk, like a long street park. There are mostly European-style buildings on the street, and you can see many lovely sculptures, flower baskets and other decorations on the main street, a bit like Manzhouli in Hulunbuir.

Burqin is also known as the fairy tale border town. After turning around, I feel that it really deserves its reputation.

I walked a few streets in Burqin and looked at my watch and it was time for lunch. I happened to see a restaurant on the street with a signboard saying "Han Cuisine", so I walked in.

After eating, I went directly to the passenger terminal. Knowing that there is still an hour before the departure of the next bus, I bought a ticket and went around the neighborhood again to kill time.

Walking into the horizontal street, the barren hills and the Gobi Desert are at the end. I don't know what it will be like on a windy day, but Burqin left me with a clean and beautiful impression.

Burqin belongs to Altay City. Altay is the most northwest city in China. I took a train from Yili to Beitun for a day just to see Altay and Burqin. Before I went to Burqin, I went to Altay. Completely different from the remote town I imagined before, Altay is also a very clean and quiet town. But it was Burqin who left a deep impression on me.
