According to legend, during the Spring and Autumn Period of the Jin Dynasty, Jie Zitui and his mother lived in seclusion in Mianshan. Duke Wen of Jin sent people to look for it. At the same time, Mianshan was ordered to be changed to Jieshan! It is also ordered that on the day before the Ching Ming Festival, no fire is allowed, and every family can only eat cold rice, which is called "Cold Food Festival". This time, when the Cold Food Festival is approaching, I participated in the 2019 Jiexiu Mianshan Qingming Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival and visited Mianshan again.
Mianshan is located at the southwest end of Taiyuan Basin, on the north side of Taiyue Mountain, and on the bank of Fenhe River, stretching for hundreds of miles, entering Lingshi County in the west and adjoining Qinyuan County in the south. The antique buildings on the mountain have a variety of styles, integrating the essence of ancient and modern China, forming a unique style of modern antique buildings.
In the architectural group of Mianshan Mianshan Scenic Area, religious buildings include temples and palaces; garden buildings include pavilions, platforms, buildings, pavilions, pavilions, corridors, pavilions, and archways; ancient relic buildings include ancient camp gates, city pools, and camps etc., it can be a museum (garden) of ancient buildings.
How is the iron lock on Tie Suo Ridge hung up?
On the right side of Baofu Rock in Mianshan Mountain, there is a mountain ridge more than 20 feet high, and two iron cables are pulled down from the "Yan Wang Prong" on the ridge. People turn their backs to the abyss, hold the iron rings in their hands, and climb up the 75-degree slope, which is more thrilling than the Thousand-foot Building in Huashan. So, how did this iron chain hang up? There is a magical legend.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Jiao Feng, a layman, and his nephew, monk Yuantong, lived at the foot of the mountain. They were both from Jiexiu Jiaojiapu. One day, they wanted to climb Tiesuo Ridge to the top of Baofu Rock, only to find that the iron cables hung up in the Tang Dynasty had been corroded for a long time and were incomplete. Therefore, it was decided to re-build two iron cables to hang up. The wish is promised, but it is really difficult to do it! Two iron cables, each 18 feet long, are composed of more than 300 iron rings, and more than 2,000 kilograms of light iron will be used, which is easier said than done! But with the great help of good men and believers, after untold hardships, it was finally built successfully. But how to hang such a heavy iron chain? They were worried again, and they couldn't figure out a way for two or three months.
Coincidentally, that day Maming Bodhisattva came riding his divine horse. Legend has it that this horse was originally the mount of a foreign king. He was moved to tears after hearing what Maming Bodhisattva said. It became the mount of Ma Ming Bodhisattva. This time when going up Mianshan Mountain and passing Tiesuoling, the horse stopped and did not go any further. Maming Bodhisattva was also moved by the piety of the lay monks, uncle and nephew, and patted the horse's head affectionately. In an instant, I saw the god horse raised its head, held the iron chain in its mouth and soared into the air, and hung the iron chain firmly on the "Yan Wang Prog". Layman Jiao and Monk Yuantong finally breathed a sigh of relief. Since then, they have been guarding the iron cable passage, and finally passed away and sat in the hall of Maming Bodhisattva.
