Ningxia, a beautiful and mysterious place, not only has a long history and splendid culture, but also has extremely rich tourism resources, such as Shahu Lake, Western Movie City (Journey to the West, New Dragon Gate Inn, Jinyiwei filming location), Helan Mountain rock paintings, water Donggou, Shapotou (one of the five most beautiful deserts in China), and the Silk Road Station are all famous and desirable places at home and abroad.

When visiting Ningxia, you must go to Shahu Lake. As for why? First of all, it is famous enough. As a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, it is not only one of the most worthwhile tourist attractions in Ningxia, but also one of the 35 ace attractions in the country.

Secondly, its transportation is very convenient. Although the Northwest is sparsely populated and the traffic in many places is inconvenient, Biansha Lake is different. Shizuishan City, where it is located, is only 40 kilometers away from Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia, and it takes only an hour to drive. It's about to arrive.

The third is that the scenery here is really good. There is not only an endless desert landscape, but also a lake view of nearly ten square kilometers. You can ride camels, sand board, and there are many water sports.

Fourth, there is Ningxia Wetland Museum, one of the most beautiful wetland museums in China. When you are tired from playing, you can go inside to rest, watch exhibitions, and learn about the distribution, development and protection of wetlands in China.

Many people think that there was no lake in Shahu before. It was the local flash flood that broke out in the autumn of 1958, which caused the drainage ditch to burst and formed a lake with an area of more than 10,000 mu. In fact, this is not the case. The sand lake has a long history of formation, but it was not what it is now. Because of the 400 kilometers of the Yellow River passing through Ningxia, there are many lakes in the area. There are seventy-two lakes. The diversion of the Yellow River, low-lying spring water, and the accumulation of torrents after the heavy rain in Helan Mountain, and Shahu Lake is one of the representative lakes.

Pingluo County, Shizuishan, where the sand lake is located, has the source of the Yellow River in the east and the natural barrier of Helan Mountain in the west, which prevents the invasion of the northwest monsoon in winter, and makes the flying sand blown from the Tengger Desert in the west of Helan Mountain be blocked by Helan Mountain. In spring, there are many southerly winds, and the sand from outside the desert of Ulanbu and the desert in the east accumulates in the barrier of Helan Mountain. The sand in the two places forms an encirclement trend. Due to specific geographical and natural effects, the desert hills in the south of Shahu Lake are formed. , forming a unique landscape of water and sand.

Because of this, Shahu Lake has become the only desert lake natural scenic spot in the country that organically combines tourism elements such as clear water, sandy mountains, quiet lotus, emerald green reeds, flying birds, swimming fish, and distant mountains. rare.

As for the place name of Shahu, why it has not been handed down in history, the main reason is that in the Ming Dynasty, there were no people living in the area of Shahu except for the border guards. The frontier defense is a heavy burden, and there is no land to cultivate here, so there are hundreds of years of inhabitation in the middle (the Chaohu people arrived here very late).

After liberation, Chaohu Farm was established locally in 1952. In 1953, when the second farm ditch was reclaimed, the sand lake was divided into two. In the same year, the third drainage ditch was opened to drain a large amount of water from the sand lake, and then the sand dunes were flattened to reclaim farmland. It is marked as Chaohu Lake and Dawukou on the map, but there is no name of Shahu Lake.

After the formation of a barrier lake due to mountain torrents in 1958, it was named Yuanbao Lake because it looked like a big ingot. Later, it was not renamed Shahu until it was developed into a tourist attraction. It must be half desert and half lake.

In Shahu, the most interesting thing is to ride a camel. There is no safety hazard, and you don’t need to spend your own energy. You can ride across the desert on a desert boat and overlook the desert from a higher perspective. You can experience the solitude of the desert. Magnificent, but also able to appreciate poetry and leisure in the distance.

In the vast sea of sand, you can go sand skiing, sand surfing, or take a hot air balloon, overlooking the land from the perspective of God, and feel the magical charm of half lake and half desert.

Sand lakes have sand and lakes, deserts have the fun of deserts, and lakes have the charm of lakes. You can take a seaplane, enjoy jet skis, go boating on the lake, or go fishing by the lake...

Not only that, but you can also rent a set of ancient costumes and costumes in the scenic spot, direct and act in a set of stills from movies such as "A Chinese Journey to the West", "New Dragon Inn", "Jinyiwei", etc. Wouldn't it be nice to be the protagonist once?
