On the morning of October 18th, we got up early and went to Hami Wubao Devil City, a distance of nearly 400 kilometers. Because we had to go back to Beijing after the tour, we got up at 5:00 in the morning and set off at 5:30. , Arrived at the Devil City of Hami Five Forts at nearly ten o'clock.

Wubao Devil City is located in the south of Wubao Township, Hami City, 20Km away from Wubao Township, and about 100Km away from Hami City. Because of its mystery, people who are not familiar with the terrain may lose their way in the event of a storm. Seeing those landscapes that resemble castles, palaces, pagodas, monuments, figures, and animals in different shapes, dazzling cliffs, colorful agates in mixed rocks, petrified wood everywhere, and plant fossils with fresh branches and leaves, Occasionally, you can get small round stones like dinosaur egg fossils, marine fish fossils, and bird fossils. When night falls, you can sometimes hear the heinous howling of ghosts and wolves, so it is called "Devil City" .

Ancient Castle of Eskhal

Not far from the two-headed horse, there is a service area. Opposite the service area is the ruins of ancient houses in Devil City, the ancient castle of Esquesial. There are two rectangular earth-rammed buildings built on a wind-eroded platform about six meters above the ground. It is about five meters long, and there are doors and windows in front of it. This is the place of human activities. It is estimated that it should be a post station on the ancient Silk Road or the southwestern outpost of the Hami Dynasty. According to the local people's speculation, before the Shaer Lake (leading from the quicksand to Lop Nur) in the west of this place dried up, there were villages and people here. Many people had to leave their hometowns, and even the remains of their ancestors were removed, so far there are only ruins.

Because we wanted to return to Beijing, we didn't go further. After a simple lunch on the side of the road, we embarked on the journey back to Beijing.

On the second day on the way back to Beijing, I passed Ejina at noon, and the time was fine, so I decided to spend 3 hours to see Populus euphratica. It's a pity that there was a fly in the ointment, the wind was very strong, and I didn't dare to fly the drone in the end, leaving some regrets.

After visiting Populus euphratica, we continued our journey back to Beijing, arrived home safely, and ended our self-driving trip.

D1-D2: Beijing takes Jingxin Expressway to Hami, about 2200 kilometers, driving for about 23 hours, it is recommended to stay in the service area for D1 night (I live in the Jingxin Expressway Huhe Baosige service area), and stay in Hami for D2 (Be sure to taste the big plate chicken. After eating it for a while, it is still the best in Hami).

D3: Hami to Burqin County, about 1,000 kilometers, need to start earlier (there is a Wucai Bay scenic spot on the way, I just wanted to see it because I didn’t do a good job in the strategy, but it was delayed for half a day, I live in Beitun City , Wucaiwan Scenic Area has been closed, no more).

D4: Visit the colorful beach scenic spot, about 25 kilometers away, and take about three hours to visit.

Then go to Hemu Village, about 170 kilometers, drive for about 3 hours, visit and stay.

If you arrive early, you can go to Baihaba Village first. I didn’t go because I arrived late.

Hemu Village looks at the morning fog, and after the tour, take the shuttle bus. It usually takes around noon to leave the village.

D5: Go to Kanas Lake, (about 70 kilometers, about 2 hours by car). Accommodation tour. The first shuttle bus out of the village is only available at 8:30, and it usually arrives at the parking lot after 9:30.

D6: From Kanas to Dushanzi, the journey is 650 kilometers, and the driving time is about 8 hours. Overnight in Dushanzi.

D7: Take the Duku Highway, you don’t need to go early, because the public security checkpoints are usually released at 9:30, so it’s the most suitable time to start from the hotel at 9:00. This day, drive 300 kilometers, and stay in Bayinbulak at night. Arrive before 4:00 p.m., visit Swan Lake, and take pictures of the sunset with nine bends and eighteen bends. It takes about 1 hour for the shuttle bus from Swan Lake to enter the scenic spot.

D8: About 200 kilometers along the Duku Highway is the mysterious Grand Canyon of the Tianshan Mountains. After the tour, go to the Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves and spend the night in Kuqa. (I went to Kashgar first, and I walked about 700 kilometers more after a comprehensive calculation).

D9: Kuqa - Kashgar, 700 kilometers, driving about 8 hours. Stay in Kashgar.

D10: Visit Kashgar. (Gaotai Residential Houses, Kashgar Old Town, Id Kah Mosque, Fragrant Concubine Garden)

D11: Kashgar - Minfeng, about 830 kilometers, 10 hours driving.

D12: Minfeng - Bosten Lake, take the desert road, the journey is 800 kilometers, and the driving is about 11 hours.

D13: Visit Bosten Lake, stay in Heshuo.

D14: Heshuo - Tianshan Tianchi; (about 450 kilometers, about 7 hours driving), visit Tianshan Tianchi. Su Fukang.

D15: Fukang - Urumqi, visit the International Grand Bazaar, stay in Urumqi.

D16: Urumqi-Turpan, 260 kilometers, about 3.5 hours by car, so start earlier. Tour Turpan, Kanerjing Source (1 hour tour), Jiaohe Ancient City (2 hours tour), Turpan Grape Valley Scenic Area (4 hours tour), Flame Mountain (1.5 hours tour), Thousand Buddha Caves (1 hour tour), and stay in Turpan.

D17: Turpan:—Hami Wubao Devil City, 400 kilometers, 6 hours, 5 hours of sightseeing, and then start the journey back to Beijing, 2580 kilometers back to Beijing.

D18: Pass through Ejina Banner on the way, you can visit Populus euphratica Forest in Ejina Banner.

D19: To Beijing.
