First sight:
Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Prince Gong's Mansion, etc.
confession:
Been to Beijing as early as 1985, visited Tiananmen Square, Great Hall of the People, Heroes Monument, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Badaling Great Wall, Xiangshan Park, Ming Tombs, etc.
After that, I went to Beijing many times on business trips due to work, and visited Qianmen, Dashilan, Wangfujing, Nanluoguxiang, etc. in my spare time. So I am not unfamiliar with Beijing, but there are still not many places to play in the real sense.
Heartfelt words:
Beijing is the capital of our country, with its solemn symbol and its abyssal history.
Main itinerary:
This trip to Beijing has a total of 6 days and 5 nights (July 21-26, 2019).
On the first day, depart for Beijing.
Day 2, Summer Palace, alternative Old Summer Palace.
On the third day, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Wangfujing Pedestrian Street.
On the 4th day, Temple of Heaven, Qianmen Pedestrian Street, Dashilan.
On the fifth day, Prince Gong's Mansion. I didn't go to Beihai Park and Shichahai because the weather was too hot.
On the 6th day, return to Shanghai.
stay:
Choose Atour S Wu Hotel near Xidan. The first reason is that there are subway lines 1, 2, and 4 around the hotel, which is convenient for travel; the second is that Beijing South Railway Station is not far away, and it is only 4 stops to Xidan Station by subway line 4; the third is that there is a choice for eating in Xidan Joy City Many, there are various restaurants.
Photographic equipment:
Nikon D3200 (medium focus), Huawei mobile phone.
Vision Eye:
Many people may not know that tourism is not just a visit here, but actually has many rich connotations. On the surface, it seems to be looking at flowers, keeping fit, breathing fresh air, and adjusting one's mood; in fact, tourism is not only to see the scenery, but also to see the traces or relics left by the evolution of social history.
beijing story
Beijing has a long history, and its history as a city can be traced back 3,000 years. Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Beijing area has been an important town in northern China, and its names have been called Jicheng, Yandu, Yanjing, Dadu, Beiping, and Shuntianfu. Together with Xi'an, Nanjing, and Luoyang, Beijing is known as China's "Four Ancient Capitals". It has 6 World Heritage Sites and is the city with the largest number of cultural heritage items in the world. It has important international influence and is also one of the largest cities in the world.
In 938, Emperor Taizong of the Liao Dynasty designated Youzhou as "Nanjing Youdu Mansion", and in 1012 it was renamed "Xijin Mansion". It is the accompanying capital of the Liao Kingdom, known as Yanjing, and it is the beginning of the establishment of the capital of Beijing. In 1153, the Jin Dynasty established the central capital, and 2014 marks the 1076th anniversary of the founding of Beijing. Jinzhongdu laid the foundation for the construction of Beijing City in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Beijing is located on the northwestern edge of the North China Plain, backed by Yanshan Mountain, with the Yongding River flowing through the southwest of the old city, adjacent to Tianjin City and Hebei Province. There are six dynasties including Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and the Republic of China (the period of the Beiyang government) established their capitals here, and several regimes were established here. It has gathered Chinese culture since the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and has many Historical sites and cultural landscapes.
There is a saying that if you have not been to the Forbidden City in Beijing, you have not been to Beijing; if you have not tasted roast duck, you have not been to Beijing. Therefore, the Forbidden City is the must-see place for tourists from all over the world when they come to Beijing. It is conceivable that the Forbidden City is very popular. If you didn't arrive early at the roast duck restaurant, you must have to wait for a long time.
Day 1
On the first day at 9:00 in the morning, I took the Fuxing from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and arrived in Beijing in about 4 and a half hours. I only stopped in Nanjing and Jinan for 2 stops in the middle. It saves time and ocean, and is very punctual.
(Below: Fuxing High Speed Rail)
After arriving at the hotel, go to rest first. What I want to explain here is that this tour is mainly for relaxation and leisure. Don't rush for time or chase after scenic spots. You can enter freely after seeing the main scenic spots.
Let me talk about the hotel first.
The hotels in Beijing that I’m going to talk about here are not easy to choose, either because the location is good and the price is high. If you have high requirements for accommodation, then prepare for the ocean. The low requirement is more than 400-600 yuan, which may not be eye-catching. And Atour S Wu Hotel is a national chain store, which belongs to mid-range hotels, and the price is 800-1200 yuan.

The summer temperature in Beijing is still relatively high, which is no different from the high temperature weather in Shanghai. I rested until close to the evening. When the sun was setting, I went slowly to the Beijing-flavored "Jiqi" restaurant in Xidan, an online celebrity shop, for dinner. When traveling, eating and drinking is also a content and essential.
It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk from Xidan Subway Station. In fact, it may be closer to Metro Line 1 from Tiananmen West. Its location is No. 21, Taipusi Street. For those who have been to Beijing, many restaurants have roast duck to eat, and the situation is the same. But this time I didn’t order it, so I ordered Xiaodiao Li Soup, Rabbit Mashed Potatoes, Almond Tofu, Three Hour Old Soup Fish Fillet, Beijing Sauce Shredded Pork, Pea Yellow, and Qiqi Crispy Shrimp. These dishes are indeed very old Beijing. Features, taste is also good.

day 2
Originally planned to go to the Forbidden City, but the Forbidden City is not open to the public on Monday. So I went to the Summer Palace instead.
Near the hotel, take Metro Line 4 and get off at Beigongmen. Seniors over 60 years old can enter the park for free by directly swiping their ID cards. Adult tickets in peak season are 60 yuan.
【Summer Palace】Play index★★★★★
The Summer Palace is four large royal gardens built in the western suburbs of Beijing before Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty succeeded to the throne. In the fifteenth year of Qianlong (1750), Emperor Qianlong used 4.48 million taels of silver to honor his mother, the Empress Dowager, to rebuild Qingyi Garden here, forming a 20-kilometer royal garden area from the current Qinghua Garden to Xiangshan.
In the tenth year of Xianfeng (1860), Qingyi Garden was burned down by the British and French allied forces. It was rebuilt in the 14th year of Guangxu (1888), renamed the Summer Palace, and used as a summer playground. In the twenty-sixth year of Guangxu (1900), the Summer Palace was destroyed by the "Eight-Power Allied Forces" again, and all the treasures were looted. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, the Summer Palace was destroyed again during the warlord melee and the Kuomintang rule.
The Summer Palace is adjacent to the Old Summer Palace. The main scenic spots are based on Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, modeled on Hangzhou West Lake, and drawing on the techniques of Jiangnan gardens to build a large-scale landscape garden. It is also a well-preserved royal palace and royal garden. It is a national 5A-level scenic spot.
Tourists enter from the North Palace Gate, which is the back mountain, back lake, and Tibetan temples of Wanshou Mountain. There are forests of ancient trees here. Before entering the back mountain of Wanshou Mountain, there is a bridge, and Suzhou Street is under the bridge.
(Pictured below: Longevity Hill Back Mountain)
At the east end of Houhu Lake is the Harmony Garden, which was built in imitation of Wuxi Jichang Garden. It is small and exquisite, and is called "the garden in the garden". After seeing the above-mentioned scenic spots, enter a tall archway, you can stroll around the halfway up the back of Longevity Mountain, and then come down from the gate and enter the right side of the archway to go to Kunming Lake and Shifang boat. However, the signs here are not very obvious.
Slowly stroll to Shifang boat, next to Kunming Lake.
(Below: Shifang Ship)
(Below: Kunming Lake)
Here you can buy a one-way 30 yuan boat ticket and take the boat directly to the 17-hole bridge and the Taurus, saving energy and time.
It is also a kind of enjoyment to take a boat and watch Longevity Mountain on the sparkling blue lake.
(Pictured below: Looking at Longevity Hill from the lake)
After a while, we came to the 17-hole bridge and the place where the golden bull was located. The 17-Arch Bridge is located on Kunming Lake, between the East Causeway and Nanhu Island, and is used to connect the causeway island. It is the largest stone bridge in the garden. There are more than 500 stone lions of different sizes and shapes carved on the railings on both sides of the stone bridge. Tongniu is located on the east bank of Kunming Lake, on the north side of the east bridge head of the 17-hole bridge, and is designed to suppress floods. It was cast in copper in 1755 and was called "Taurus".
(Below: Taurus and the 17-hole bridge)
Afterwards, take a boat back to Shifang boat. After getting off the boat, there is the famous promenade and the Buddha Fragrance Pavilion on the side. In fact, this is a must-see attraction to the Summer Palace.
(below; Kunming Lake)
According to many tour guides beside me, Foxiang Pavilion is located on the mountainside in the middle of the front mountain of Wanshou Mountain. It is built on a square platform with a height of 21 meters. It is a building with eight sides, three floors and four double eaves. . After the original pavilion was burned down by the British and French allied forces in the 10th year of Xianfeng (1860), it was rebuilt in the 17th year of Guangxu (1891) at a cost of 780,000 taels of silver, and completed in the 20th year of Guangxu (1894). It is the largest project in the Summer Palace. The "Jieyin Buddha" is enshrined in the pavilion for the royal family to burn incense here.
The promenade is located at the southern foot of Wanshou Mountain, facing Kunming Lake, with Wanshou Mountain in the north, Yaoyue Gate in the east, and Shizhang Pavilion in the west. It is 728 meters long and is the longest veranda in domestic gardens. In 1992, it was recognized as the longest corridor in the world and included in the "Guinness Book of World Records". There are colorful paintings on every beam on the corridor. It is said that there are more than 14,000 pictures, including landscapes, flowers, birds, fish and insects, and allusions to characters. The figures in the paintings are all based on Chinese classics.
(Below: Promenade)
At the end of the tour, take the subway directly to Xidan for dinner.
Xidan is a place where young people gather. The business here focuses on youth and fashion elements. There are shopping places such as Xidan Joy City, Hanguang Department Store, Juntai Department Store, and Galeries Lafayette. There are also a variety of gourmet restaurants, which are dazzling. It depends on which one you choose.
Nanxiaoguan is mainly Shanghai cuisine, upstairs in Joy City. I ordered deep-fried pork chops, bacon and vegetable rice, salivating chicken, vegetarian roast goose, old Shanghai single soup, caramel pearl, pear and snow fungus drink, etc., which greatly replenished energy.
3rd day
Depart early in the morning to visit the Forbidden City. Take the subway to the east of Tiananmen Square, and you will see a sea of people. It is conceivable that the Forbidden City is very popular during the summer vacation. Enter from the Meridian Gate and start to look, stroll and pat.

【Forbidden City】Play Index★★★★★★
The Forbidden City in Beijing is the royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China. It was formerly known as the Forbidden City. It is located in the center of the central axis of Beijing.
The Forbidden City in Beijing is known as the first of the five major palaces in the world (the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom, the White House in the United States, and the Kremlin in Russia). It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
The Forbidden City in Beijing started construction in the fourth year of Yongle (1406), Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty. It was built on the basis of the Forbidden City in Nanjing, and it was completed in the eighteenth year of Yongle (1420). It is a rectangular city, 961 meters long from north to south, 753 meters wide from east to west, surrounded by walls 10 meters high, and a moat 52 meters wide outside the city. The buildings in the Forbidden City are divided into two parts: the outer court and the inner court. The center of the Outer Dynasty is the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Hall of Preserving Harmony, collectively referred to as the Three Great Halls, where the state holds grand ceremonies. The center of the inner court is Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Palace, and Kunning Palace, collectively referred to as the Housan Palace, which is the main palace where the emperor and empress live.
After the Xinhai Revolution in 1911, the Forbidden City Palace should have been nationalized, but according to the "Preferential Treatment Conditions for the Qing Dynasty" drawn up at that time, Emperor Aixinjueluo Puyi was allowed to "temporarily live in the palace", that is, the "back sleep" part . In 1924, Feng Yuxiang launched the "Beijing Coup" and expelled Puyi from the palace. At the same time, he established the "Clear House Rehabilitation Committee" and took over the Forbidden City. On October 10, 1925, it was announced that the Palace Museum was officially established and opened to the public.
After 1925, the Forbidden City was called the "Forbidden City". With the decline of the Qing Dynasty, especially in the 38 years before 1949, the buildings of the Forbidden City became increasingly dilapidated. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, in 1961, the State Council announced that the Forbidden City was the first batch of "national key cultural relics protection units". It has undergone extensive renovations since the 1950s and 1960s. In 1988, the Forbidden City was listed as a "World Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO, and it was designated as the "Palace Museum".
To visit the Forbidden City, it is recommended to book tickets online in advance. You only need to swipe your ID card to enter the site, eliminating the trouble of queuing up to buy tickets. Tickets for adults in peak season are 80 yuan (including Treasure Hall and Clock Hall), and half-price for people over 60 is 40 yuan (including Treasure Hall and Clock Hall). The only audience entrance to the Forbidden City is at the Meridian Gate. If you are interested in the history of the Forbidden City, don't forget to rent an interpreter, every palace and every road has a story.
(Below: Forbidden City)
The Forbidden City in Beijing is the royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China. It was formerly known as the Forbidden City and is the essence of ancient Chinese palace architecture. At the same time, it was the palace of 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China. The three halls on the central axis (Taihe Hall, Zhonghe Hall, Baohe Hall) and the Imperial Garden are the focus of visiting the Forbidden City. There are a large number of precious cultural relics in the Forbidden City, among which the Treasure Hall and the Clock Hall are especially not to be missed.
(Below: Hall of Supreme Harmony, Forbidden City)
(Pictured below: The carvings on the stone railings of the Forbidden City are very exquisite)

According to legend, the palace has 9999 rooms. At first, the emperor planned to build 10,000 rooms in the palace, but at night after he made this request to the craftsmen, the gods appeared in the emperor's dream and expressed their dissatisfaction to him. The reason is that the heavenly palace of the gods also has 10,000 rooms. If the ruler on the earth, the emperor who claims to be the emperor, also builds such a palace, it is tantamount to claiming that he is equal to his father, which is a serious violation of the strict relationship between the gods and the emperor. Strict hierarchical behavior. The next morning, the emperor immediately discussed with the ministers and decided to build only 9999 rooms in the Forbidden City. However, the architects thought that no one would be idle to count the number of rooms in the palace, so they were lazy and deceived the emperor, and only built 8,728 rooms in the palace in 980. Generally speaking, the number "nine" is considered auspicious to the Chinese, and various things implying the number nine can often be seen in palaces.
(Below: Forbidden City)
The Forbidden City used to be the palace of the emperor. It has a unique aura. You don't need to look for it deliberately. When you pass by, you can feel it. The Forbidden City in Beijing makes the heart calm, and the silent years have left the imprint of time on the ancient city walls.
(Pictured below: The solemn red wall of the Forbidden City)
After seeing the Forbidden City, not far from Shenwu Gate in the north, you will see Jingshan Park on the opposite side. It is famous for Emperor Chongzhen hanging himself here, and it is also a good place to climb to overlook the panoramic view of the Forbidden City.
Jingshan Park came out and walked along the northeast of the Forbidden City, and saw the turrets of the Forbidden City.
(Below: Corner Tower of the Forbidden City)
At this time, my stomach was already rumbling and I planned to eat roast duck tonight, so I quickened my pace to find Siji Minfu, an online celebrity shop on Dengshikou Street. On the road, I saw the red wall courtyard (see the picture below).
【Beijing Roast Duck】Tasting Index★★★★★
As early as the Northern and Southern Dynasties (420-589) "Shi Zhen Lu", there has been a record of roasted duck. There is a saying about roast duck in "Drinking Zhengyao" in the Yuan Dynasty. These are the predecessors of today's roast duck.
The roast duck restaurant in Beijing is said to have appeared in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522-1566), and it is said to have appeared in the 50th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1785). At that time, it was operating the braised oven roasting method from Nanjing (Jinling), so it was called Nanlu duck. The earliest store was located in Mishi Hutong outside Xuanwumen, that is, Laobaifang Roast Duck Restaurant (the store closed down in 1937). Now Qianmenwai Xianyukou Bianyifang Roast Duck Restaurant opened in the fifth year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (1855). Coming from behind has a great impact.
Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant opened in the third year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1864). Due to its good management and innovation, it soon became famous in Beijing and spread to both at home and abroad. Entrepreneur Yang Quanren, Jixian County, Hebei Province, changed the stewing stove to a hanging stove, creating a unique way to learn from others, so it is very unique.
"If you don't go to the Great Wall, you are not a hero. It's a pity if you don't eat roast duck." For many people, Quanjude, a century-old brand, used to be a symbol of roast duck. "The duck is better" of course means that the quality of the roast duck is better. Walking and walking, I came to Dengshikou Street and saw the online celebrity shop "Siji Minfu".
(Picture below: Siji Minfu store entrance)
After waiting for a seat, I was seated. After reading the menu, there are still many varieties. I ordered half a crispy and tender roast duck (including duck cakes and small ingredients), mustard duck feet, baked mushrooms with black truffle cheese, red bean cold cake, palace almonds Tofu, etc., the dishes are all ready, so I started to eat. The per capita consumption of this dinner is 110 yuan.
(Pictured below: The roast duck is delicious, and the chef carefully slices the roast duck)
It is said that the dish of roast duck was recorded as early as the Yuan Dynasty. The earliest roast ducks all used the "simmering" method, that is, the ducks were stewed in the stove. This kind of "simmering oven" skill was the best at that time, and it was basically impossible for other roast duck restaurants to stand out in the skill of the stewing oven. Inspired by other dishes, Yang Quanren, the founder of Quanjude, found another way to hang up the duck and roast it. Since then, the skill of "hanging stove" has been handed down.
(Picture below: roast duck and other dishes)
Now more and more roast duck restaurants are popping up in Beijing, such as Siji Minfu, Dadong, Liqun, Bianyifang, etc., giving people more choices.
After dinner, come to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. There is a cathedral in Wangfujing, called Dongjiaominxiang Catholic Church, the front looks very imposing.
(below, cathedral)
day 4
Hey, by the way, I went to Qingfeng Steamed Bun Shop near the hotel for breakfast these days. The price is not expensive and economical. For example, the cost of eating breakfast for one person in a hotel can be eaten for 3-4 people here.
(Below: Qingfeng Baozi Shop)
(Picture below: Osmanthus ebony juice is very delicious)
After breakfast, we took the subway to the Temple of Heaven.
【Temple of Heaven】Play Index★★★★
The Temple of Heaven is a special altar for the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship the sky, pray for rain and pray for a good harvest. The echo wall made of acoustic principles will definitely make you sigh the wisdom of the ancients. The Temple of Heaven Park is very green and suitable for walking and taking pictures. The 60-year-old seniors are free of charge, and the adult ticket is 34 yuan. It is recommended to buy a combined ticket (including the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest + Circular Mound + Echo Wall).
The Temple of Heaven is the largest surviving ancient sacrificial building complex in my country. It is the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped the God of Heaven on the winter solstice and prayed for grain on the first month of the new month. It is said that in November 1998, the Temple of Heaven was included in the "World Heritage List".
I have seen the famous Hall of Prayer for Harvests, which is the most magnificent and magnificent building in the Temple of Heaven, and it is also the place closest to the sky in my imagination. The upper and lower roofs of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests are covered with dark blue glazed tiles, symbolizing the color of the sky.
(Below: Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests)
(Below: Whispering Wall)
(Pictured below: the garden view of the Temple of Heaven is also pretty good)
(Pictured below: Tired of playing, come to a candied haws to satisfy your hunger)
Because the weather is too hot, we will return to the hotel to rest after visiting the Temple of Heaven. In the evening, I went to Qianmen and Dashilan again.
Qianmen Street has been a famous commercial street in Beijing since ancient times. There are many shops, restaurants, and snacks. You can have dinner while visiting. The passages on both sides of the front door are Dashilan and the Beijing Snack Street. Here you can not only visit the old Beijing Hutongs, but also many online celebrity shops to check in. There are Dangdang buses on the pedestrian street, and the fares are not expensive. Of course, Qianmen Pedestrian Street is no exception. It is somewhat similar to other urban pedestrian streets, except that it is located in a different location.
(Below: Qianmen Pedestrian Street)
day 5
Visit Prince Gong's Mansion and Beihai Park according to the plan, and choose "Shichahai".
Take Metro Line 6 and get off at Beihai North, and walk for about 15 minutes to Prince Gong's Mansion Scenic Area. Adult tickets are 40 yuan, half price for seniors over 60 years old.
Prince Kung's Mansion consists of two parts, the mansion and the garden, that is, the front half of the mansion and the back half of the garden.
【Prince Kung's Mansion】Play Index★★★★★
Prince Gong’s Mansion is located on Qianhai West Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. It was the largest royal mansion in the Qing Dynasty. It served as the residence of the corrupt official Heshen and Prince Qing Yonglin, and was later given to Prince Gong Yixin, hence the name Gongwang’s Mansion. , and is still in use today. Prince Gong's Mansion has gone through the historical process from the peak to the decline of the Qing Dynasty, so there is a saying that "one Prince Gong's Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty".
(Pictured below: the first half of Prince Gong’s Mansion)
(Picture below: Garden in the back half of Prince Kung’s Mansion)
Due to the hot weather, Beihai Park and "Shichahai" did not go. Back to hotel to rest.
day 6
Today is the end of the trip to Beijing. After breakfast at the hotel, go directly to Beijing South Railway Station and return to Shanghai by Fuxing high-speed train at 10:00.
postscript
Beijing, the capital city of our country, has beautiful scenery and historical heritage, which remain in the memory of life. At the root of the imperial city, there is a kind of arrogance. Walking casually on the street, you can meet old houses and old temples. It is also a kind of joy to meet unexpectedly. In the old alley, there is another scene where the parents are short.
To live is to have the courage to let go of everything, to slow down the rhythm and calm down the mind. This is your life, your whole life. Life is priceless, you have to slow down the time at all times, stay longer, and learn to cultivate yourself if you stay longer.
Traveling is actually a reading. Through traveling, you will understand many stories and things that you did not know before. There's no point in traveling to a place you don't know if you don't know the story, if you haven't read what other people have experienced.
Go your own way, see your own scenery. Traveling is to get yourself out of the city in your life. You are also fascinated by the various beautiful scenery and various cultural customs on the way, and what you need to do is to take photos that are visually impactful and aesthetically pleasing.
