3. Warm clothes: Because the temperature in high altitude areas is relatively low, and the temperature difference between day and night is large, it is necessary to bring warm clothes such as jackets and down jackets, which must be worn in the morning and evening to prevent the occurrence of colds and fevers. Cold and fever combined with high fever in plateau areas can be fatal.
4. After flying to Golmud on the first night and resting in the county town for a night, we drove straight up to Kunlun Mountain early the next morning. But we didn't hurry to the factory. A place called "Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace" near the factory attracted our attention, so we decided to check it out.
Kunlun Mountain Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace is located next to the Qinghai-Tibet Highway 120 kilometers southwest of Golmud, at an altitude of 3800 meters. It is a Kunlun Mountain Taoist temple dedicated to the Three Virgins. Because the Chinese nation is the descendant of the dragon and the descendant of the phoenix, the Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace got its name.
The Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace is a Kunlun Mountain Taoist temple dedicated to the Three Holy Mothers, namely the Queen Mother of the West, the Nine Heavens Xuannv, and the Golden Holy Mother. According to legend, the Queen Mother of the West's Pantao Festival was held here, and it is also the place where Jiang Ziya ascended to immortality. In addition, the hall also enshrines the statues of Sakyamuni, the 10th Panchen Lama and Master Hongjun.
On the square of Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace, stone pillars are erected one after another. These are some classic quotations of Lao Tzu, which also confirms his identity as the originator of Taoism. The Kunlun School of Taoism has a history of thousands of years. The Kunlun School is named after the mountain and is an independent school. One theory is that the Kunlun School originated from the period of King Wu of the Zhou Dynasty. Hongjun passed on three friends: Laozi, Yuanshi, and Tongtian. Lao Tzu (Li Er) had one disciple, and Yuan Shi had twelve disciples. Lao Tzu and Yuan Shi are the ancestors of the Kunlun School. The 12 disciples of Yuanshi are the 12 ancestors of the Kunlun School. Later, the Kunlun School was divided into two schools, East and West, both of which belonged to Taoism.
According to legend, Kunlun Mountain is 11,114 steps 2 feet 6 inches high. Below it is weak water that cannot float feathers, and there is a flaming volcano growing continuously burning sacred trees on the periphery. Kunlun Mountain is an entrance between the Yellow Emperor and the lower realm, guarded by enlightened beasts, and the Dragon and Phoenix Palace is where the entrance is located.

[Second stop: Kunlun Mountain Pass]
After visiting the Promise Dragon and Phoenix Palace, we drove for more than ten minutes to arrive at the high-end mineral water factory in Kunlun Mountains. After a brief rest, we will start our plateau trip, and the first stop will be the Kunlun Mountain Pass.
Kunlun Mountain Pass is 160 kilometers away from Golmud City. It is the only place where Qinghai and Gansu provinces lead to Tibet. It is also a major pass on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. At the Kunlun Mountain Pass at an altitude of 4870m, there is a statue admired by the world, Sonam Dajie, the first head of the Hoh Xil Protection Station. In 1994, when I was just born, and there was heavy snow in Hoh Xil at that time, Suonan Dajie was fighting poachers by the Sun Lake, but unfortunately he was shot and died. I remember Sonam Dajie said that if the protection station needs everyone's attention, it will definitely bleed. If the blood must be shed, I'll be the first. After the report of Sonam Dajie's deeds, many young people were indeed moved by Sonam Dajie's noble spirit, and they joined the team of guarding Hoh Xil while feeling sad. To this day, Sonam Dajie's spirit of protecting Hoh Xil still inspires generations of staff in the reserve to integrate his spirit into their work. I have admired this hero for a long time, but this time I was able to truly stand at the Kunlun Mountain Pass and in front of his statue. I felt a surge of emotion in my heart, and tears filled my eyes and I couldn't help it for a long time.
There is another statue here, that is the elf "Tibetan antelope" in Hoh Xil. This special population living on the plateau has become the primary target of poachers because of its precious value. Fortunately, heroes like Suonan Dajie have stood up one by one, so that the Tibetan antelope population can continue, and There has been no poaching in the past five years.
The vast Kunlun is majestic, with four seasons of cold winter, covered with silver, mountains and mountains, and thousands of skyscrapers. Climbing to the mountain pass, the majestic Kunlun Mountains are like a herd of galloping horses in silver-gray armor, rolling forward with the wind and clouds.

The Chumar River Basin at the northern source of the Yangtze River and its surrounding areas is Hoh Xil, one of the largest uninhabited areas in China. I knew Hoh Xil at the beginning because of Dabing’s song "Accompany me to Hoh Xil to see the sea". The song described a fairyland-like scene, just as its name Hoh Xil means "beautiful" in Mongolian. Like the "girl", the scenery here can also be called a country and a city. I also always think that one day someone can accompany me to Hoh Xil to have a look at the sea, to fulfill this crazy and beautiful wish.
This time when I really stood in Hoh Xil, on the land of Sonam Dajie Nature Reserve, the sense of historical mission that this land bears made me feel the solidity of this land. There is not too much industrial pollution here, only a truck speeds past the Qinghai-Tibet Railway from time to time, and everything else is so original.
Wild ducks can be seen playing in the water pool, wild yaks are dotted on the grassland, and Tibetan antelopes are often seen. It has to be said that because of the establishment of the Sonam Dajie Nature Reserve, the ecology here has improved, and poachers dare not go too far.
Inside the Sonam Dajie Nature Reserve, there is a small exhibition hall.
