Sanlian Taofen Bookstore—the earliest 24-hour bookstore in Beijing
In Beijing, Sanlian Taofen was the earliest 24-hour bookstore.
There was a time when, in order to encourage myself to read, I would go to the bookstore regularly on weekends with the teenager who loves to read and other colleagues.
The earliest location is at No. 22, Art Museum East Street, Dongsi, Beijing. It seems that this location is temporarily closed.
That would be because the bookstore has limited seats, and everyone basically sat on the floor, or sat on the sunken stairs in an orderly manner.
I think this should be a more iconic landscape back then. There are probably more people who read books than buy books.
When I saw Sanlian Taofen again, I was already opposite the 33 Building in Sanlitun.
An even bigger independent bookstore than ever before.
The exterior decoration is all wooden structure, like a big wooden box.
Inside is a clean industrial style. There are many categories of books, and what I do most often is that if I come to Sanlitun to meet friends, I will first stay in this bookstore for a while.

This bookstore is completely different from the previous three. It is the cafe I found by accident in Beiluoguxiang after running a half-marathon——Paradise Time.
I think the books here should not be sold, but mainly used for reading (of course, I didn’t confirm with the boss whether it is a collection of books, and I don’t sell them). This should be the closest to the bookstore in my little friend's mind.
The main products sold are Tibetan yogurt, milk tea, handmade specialty coffee (black coffee and milk coffee) and half-cooked cheese.
The boss looks like there is a story. The postcards here are taken by the boss himself during his travels. The coffee beans here are also roasted by themselves.
I like lightly roasted coffee beans with a bright, fruity flavor. I usually drink Yirgacheffe, but this time I tried the hand-brewed Kenyan black coffee at the suggestion of the boss.
It happened that during this time, I was obsessed with coffee, so I picked a book related to coffee and nestled on the sofa. The sofa here is super magical and comfortable enough to fall asleep. Coming here is like going to the comfortable living room of my sister's house, picking up a favorite book, drinking a cup of coffee, and slowly falling asleep with my fat.

Fan Deng Bookstore was born on the basis of Fan Deng Reading Club.
