Tour time from noon on December 21 to noon on December 22, 2019
*Solemnly declare: People who don't know Dali are often confused by the word "Dali" that often appears in the guide, and don't know which place the word "Dali" represents. First of all, I would like to clarify with you that what we usually refer to as "traveling to Dali" refers to "Dali Ancient Town" or "Dali Ancient City". Dali Ancient City is located in Dali City, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, which is equivalent to the suburbs of Dali City. For some reason, the state, city and ancient city here are all called Dali, so it will cause confusion for everyone.
*Dali is a "Buddhist country". There are many temples scattered in the mountains of Dali. It is a good place to worship Buddha and visit historical sites. Such as Wuwei Temple and Three Pagoda Temple near the ancient city of Dali. In particular, Jizu Mountain is second only to the four famous Buddhist mountains in Foshan.
*Traffic: The specific location of Jizu Mountain can be Baidu, not much to say. There are cars at the Dali Bus Station near Dali Railway Station to the Jizu Mountain Scenic Area. There are not many trains in the morning, and it takes about 1 hour to reach the foot of Jizu Mountain. The bus can go up the mountainside, but you have to buy a ticket at the entrance of the scenic spot at the foot of the mountain, and then go up the mountain with the original car. There are manual and self-service ticket sales at the ticket office. If you want to take a bus to the middle of the mountain, you can't visit the temples between the foot of the mountain and the middle of the mountain, but there seem to be few. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to reach the halfway up the mountain. There is a parking lot halfway up the mountain, where all buses stop, and there are 2 or 3 temples around, the most famous of which is Zhusheng Temple, next to the parking lot. There is also a Xianghui Street here, which is composed of several inns integrating board and lodging, and it is also near the parking lot, just a few steps away. The latest departure time for buses from Jizu Mountain to Dali Airport, Railway Station, and Bus Station is 2:00 pm every day, and they leave when they are full. So when you come by car, you need to ask the driver to get the mobile phone number to contact at any time.
*Board and lodging: The hotel I booked on Ctrip is the first old hotel in Jizu Mountain, Binchuan, in Xianghui Street, Zhusheng Temple, halfway up the mountain in Jizu Mountain Scenic Area. The single room is 97 yuan per night. The conditions are very average, with partitions and no air conditioning. But the rice noodles made by the boss are really, really delicious.
There are only a dozen inns on Xianghui Street, all of which provide food and accommodation, and there is also a grocery store where you can buy limited snacks and drinks. In addition, all the large temples here can place orders to eat. I know Zhusheng Temple and Jinding Temple can place orders to eat. Zhusheng Temple places orders at 0872-7350093. Zhusheng Temple Vegetarian Restaurant is 15 yuan, only for breakfast and accommodation, and Jinding Temple Vegetarian Restaurant is 10 yuan. Relatively speaking, Zhusheng Temple is more delicious.
*Traffic on the mountain: The halfway up the mountain is the watershed of the traffic on Jizu Mountain. The buses outside only go here. From here, you can go up the mountain on foot, or take a sightseeing bus and change it to a cable car to reach the top of the mountain. There is a special hiking ladder for hiking, and you can also ride up the mountain, but I don’t know if I can reach the top of the mountain. Changing the sightseeing car to the cable car can go directly to the Jinding Temple, but there is no way to go to the temple in the middle.
*Temples and attractions: Due to time constraints, I only visited a few temples, which is a pity.
The most incense here should be the Jinding Temple on the top of the mountain. You can get there directly by changing the sightseeing car to the cable car, and you can get there in about 30 minutes. From the Jinding Temple, you can overlook the mountains, the Cangshan Erhai Lake and the snow-capped mountains. Jinding Temple is not big, and it takes about 30 minutes to worship a few halls. There are many restaurants and shops in front of the Jinding Temple, and the prices are a little higher. If you are not in a hurry, you can walk down from the Jinding Temple, so that you can visit all the temples in the middle.
Among the several temples on the mountainside, the largest is Zhusheng Temple. It feels a little smaller than Jinding Temple, but the main hall is also resplendent and magnificent. You can see monkeys at close range here. There are also Muni Temple and Wuhua Temple nearby, which can be visited. A reminder, there is a waterfall halfway up the mountain, too small to be worth moving.
There is also a Wanshou Temple near the half-mountainside stop of the sightseeing bus. When I went in to pay homage, I even chatted with the little master of the nursing hall. This is the most worthwhile place of this trip!
In addition, it needs to be said that there are many monkeys in Jizu Mountain. It is not clear what kind of monkeys they are. They are a bit like golden monkeys. Most of them are on the bridge next to the Lihe Gate of Zhusheng Temple. You are not afraid of people, and you can observe and take pictures at close range.
