During my trip to Guizhou in 2019, I visited Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang. The photo was taken in the city of Kaili passing by on the way.

We came to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village after visiting Libo Xiaoqikong, so it was already late when we arrived in Kaili City. We first had dinner at this Qianduoduo Restaurant in Kaili City.

After dinner, we drove to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is located in Kaili City, Guizhou Province. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is a relatively complete place to preserve the "primitive ecology" culture of the Miao nationality. It is composed of more than ten natural villages built on the mountain. It is currently the largest Miao village in China and even in the world. The picture shows the guide map of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

Xijiang is a transliteration of "Chicken Speaking" in Miao language, which means the place where the Xishi branch of the Miao nationality lives. The inhabitants are all Miao people, who call themselves "Ga Nao". The Miao border stretches for thousands of miles, and there are countless villages, but none of them dare to challenge the unique and proud title of Xijiang Miao villages - "Thousands of Miao Villages". The photo was taken near the entrance of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village.

The Miao family living in Xijiang has more than 1,200 households and a population of over 6,000 people, 99.5% of whom are Miao people. It is a veritable thousand-household village and the largest Miao village in China. Xijiang is the purest and most complete place to preserve the "original ecology" culture of the Miao nationality in the whole country and even the world. The photo was taken in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an open-air museum that exhibits an epic of the development of the Miao nationality, and has become a grandstand for viewing and studying the traditional culture of the Miao nationality. The picture shows the visitor center of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village.

To enter the Xijiang Miao Village Scenic Area, you need to take a battery car in the scenic area. The battery car costs 20 yuan per person for 4 trips, which is not expensive. The picture shows the entrance of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

The inn we stayed at that night was called Lang Ting Yuan. The inn is between the gate of the scenic spot and the old street, and the location is not very good. The picture shows the appearance of the inn.

The street near Langtingyuan is almost full of inns.

This is my room, a sloping roof room on the top floor. It is good to have air conditioning and hot water here.

This is the bathroom of the inn. Although the sparrow is small, it has all internal organs.

After putting down our luggage, the tour guide took us to the viewing platform of Xijiang Miao Village Scenic Area to watch the night view. The square I passed by on the way seems to be called Lusheng Field.

The viewing platform of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang is on a small hill. The viewing platform is very large, with many buildings on it, and many tourists take pictures here.

Many girls rent Miao costumes here to take pictures

These "Miao girls" took pictures with great interest

This is the night view of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang that I took at the viewing platform. It feels much worse than I imagined.

Take the sightseeing car down the mountain from the viewing platform, and the terminal is the No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge located in the upper reaches of the Baishui River. On the Baishui River of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang, there are 7 wind and rain bridges spanning from east to west. The picture shows No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge.

Fengyu Bridge, as the name suggests, is to shelter from the wind and rain in the severe weather of wind and rain, so that business travelers can "be as safe as mountains without wind and rain", and in sunny weather, Fengyu Bridge can also provide It provides a cool and comfortable resting place for travelers who feel tired from a long journey. The photo was taken at the Wind and Rain Bridge in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

The Wind and Rain Bridge of the Miao nationality has the effect of ensuring safety, sheltering from wind and rain, and facilitating traffic. The wind and rain bridge of the Miao nationality does not use rivets throughout the bridge, but is connected with fir chiseled tenon. Integrating the architectural features of bridge corridors, pavilions, towers and pavilions, the bridge is shaped like a promenade, with benches on both sides for pedestrians to avoid wind and rain. The photo was taken at the Wind and Rain Bridge in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

Fengyu bridge is divided into stone pier wind and rain bridge and stone arch wind and rain bridge. Shipeng Fengyu Bridge is built with stone pier, on which a long corridor-shaped bridge pavilion is built, the bridge deck is paved with wooden boards, the pavilion is covered with green tiles, surrounded by wooden railings on both sides, and wooden benches are set up for pedestrians to rest. According to the length of the bridge, one to five pavilions will be built on the top of the pavilion. The central pillars of the pavilions directly press the pavilion beams, and the pavilion covers are inlaid with many wooden squares, which are radial. The wooden pillars are decorated with melon columns, the eaves and pavilion walls are painted with patterns of dragons, phoenixes, birds, animals, flowers or stories of characters, the bottom of the main beams are painted with yin and yang and eight trigrams, and the corners of the cornices are upturned, which is beautiful in shape. The stone arch wind and rain bridge is built with blue stone arches, and single arch or multi-arch wind and rain bridges are built according to the width of the river. The arch bridge is built with promenade-style bridge pavilions, and its structure is similar to that of the stone bridge wind and rain bridge. The photo was taken at the Wind and Rain Bridge in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

Standing on the bridge and looking west, the long old mill restaurant is built along the south side of the river. It was too late, and there were almost no tourists eating at this time, and the restaurant ended the bustling day.

After crossing the bridge, walk on Youfang Street, which faces the river on one side and rows of shops on the other side.

At night, the night of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang is never completely dark. The lights on the mountain and below are bright, and the buildings on stilts are rendered enchantingly and charmingly by ingenious lights, showing the unique style of Miao Village.

Silver ornaments are the three treasures of Miao people's art. They are known for their exquisite materials, exquisite composition, elegant shape, bright colors, simplicity and nature, and exquisite craftsmanship. For thousands of years, it has been deeply loved by the Miao people, and it is listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative list. The local old man is still weaving linen in the most traditional way. I heard from her that it takes nearly a week to weave a piece of cloth like this. But the Weaver Girl in the street shop has a performance color.

Bursts of pop music floated out of such Miao village buildings, and the ancient civilization and modern elements complement each other. The picture shows a karaoke bar on Youfang Street.

This is a local postbox, which is very distinctive. You can send out postcards directly after you buy them.

Continuing to the west, the sign stone standing on the side of the Linhe River is engraved with big red characters inscribed by Yu Qiuyu --- "Answer everything with beauty" in Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village.

Near No. 4 Fengyu Bridge, there is a night market. There are snacks and grocery shopping in the night market. The picture shows the vegetable market in the night market.

Continue westward, and the lower reaches of the Baishui River gradually become narrower, and you will come to No. 6 Fengyu Bridge in a short while.

Fengyu Bridge No. 6 is much shorter than the previous ones. The covered bridge is built on the stone pier, and there is only one pavilion on the bridge pavilion.

No. 6 Wind and Rain Bridge also has a waiting point for villagers in the scenic spot

Bridge No. 6 is located at the intersection of Youfang Street and Ancient Street, so we turn back here and go eastward on the ancient street to return to the inn. The picture shows the stone archway at the entrance of Youfang Street.

I originally thought that if you enter the Qianhu Miao Village Scenic Area in Xijiang, you can enter the life of the Miao family, but the reality is disappointing. The current Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang is similar to the ancient town of Lijiang in Yunnan, completely commercialized. It is difficult to trace the lives of the Miao family. The photo was taken in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

According to the tour guide, all the houses facing the street in the scenic area are rented to Han people from the mainland. The local Miao people have all moved to the distant mountains. The photo was taken in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

I thought I could go to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village the next morning, so I was the first to have breakfast at 6:00. Pictured is my breakfast.

Unexpectedly, the weather was not beautiful and it started to rain. It was raining a lot. The photo was taken in front of the hotel.

Tourists near some inns began to evacuate

The Miao buildings in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang are mainly wooden stilted buildings with a bucket-shaped roof structure. There are two types of stilted buildings on flat ground and sloping stilted buildings, which are generally three-story four-story three-room or five-story four-room structures. The Diaojiaolou of the Miao nationality in the photo looks newly built, but it still has a sense of mystery.

The bottom floor of the stilted building is used to store production tools, keep poultry and livestock, store fertilizer or use it as a toilet. The second floor is used as the living room, main room, bedroom and kitchen. On the outside of the main room, there is a unique "beauty leaning", which is called "step breath" in Miao language. It is mainly used for enjoying the shade, embroidery and rest, which is a major feature of Miao architecture. The third layer is mainly used to store production and living materials such as grain and feed. The picture shows the stilted buildings of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang.

The stilted buildings of the Miao people in Xijiang originated from the southern stilt-style buildings of the ancient residents. The combination of multiple structures such as rectangles, triangles, and rhombuses forms a three-dimensional space network system, which is integrated with the surrounding green mountains, green waters, and pastoral scenery. , is a living fossil of ancient Chinese residential buildings. Taking advantage of the relatively light rain, I went shopping in Youfang Street again. The picture shows the stone archway at the entrance of Youfang Street.
