In late May 2019, during my trip to Guizhou, I revisited Huangguoshu Scenic Area. Going to Huangguoshu from Guiyang has to get up early. The picture shows the tour bus we took.

It takes about 2.5 hours to arrive at Huangguoshu Waterfalls, a national AAAAA-level scenic spot, via Guihuang Expressway. The picture shows the parking lot of Huangguoshu Scenic Area.

Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area consists of three parts, namely Doupo Pond, Tianxing Bridge and Huangguoshu Waterfall. The picture shows the schematic diagram of Huangguoshu Waterfalls.

Ticket prices for Huangguoshu Scenic Area: 180 for the three scenic spots, 50 for the Huangguoshu Waterfall Escalator, and 50 for the shuttle bus in the scenic area. The picture shows the ticket office of Doupotang Scenic Area.

The first thing we visited was Doupotang Waterfall. It once appeared in the 1983 edition of "Journey to the West", where the scene of Tang Monk, his master and his disciples walking over the waterfall together was shot here. The picture shows the landmark stone of Doupotang Scenic Area.

As soon as I got off the tourist bus, many hawkers who bought flowers surrounded me.

Most of the people who buy flowers are local elderly women. The tour guide said hello in advance, and you have to swipe your face when you enter the scenic spot. Please don't buy garlands.

Near the entrance of Doupotang Scenic Area, there are many food and fruit vendors.

The entrance of Huangguoshu Scenic Area has advanced face-scanning facilities, which is very convenient.

Doupotang Waterfall is located 1 km upstream of Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou Province. The top of the waterfall is 105 meters wide and 21 meters high. It is the widest waterfall among the Huangguoshu Waterfalls. The picture shows the panorama of Doupotang Scenic Area.

There are clear signposts in the Doupo Pond. Walking along the viewing road, birds are singing and flowers are fragrant all the way.

There are not too many people in the Doupotang Scenic Area. Along the river, the road is very flat and not too tiring to walk.

"I heard the sound of water roaring in the distance, looking north from the gap, suddenly there was water rushing down from the cliffs in the northeastern mountain armpit, and smashed into the deep abyss, but I saw that the top was white and wide, and the snow was gushing through the sky, but I didn't see it below. Cut off, it is separated by the opposite cliff." This is Xu Xiake's description of Doupotang Waterfall in "Xu Xiake's Travel Notes". The picture shows a view of Doupotang Waterfall.

The upstream of Doupotang Waterfall is Baishui River, which has a small flow and clear water in flat water. But whenever the flood comes, the waterfall will make a roar of "boom, boom", so it is also called "roaring waterfall". The photo was taken at Doupotang Waterfall.

On the top of Doupotang Waterfall is a huge melting pool with an area of 15,000 square meters, and the waterfall is formed on a calcified beach dam that is more than 100 meters long. The photo was taken at Doupotang Waterfall.

When we went to Doupo Pond, the flow of Baishui River was not large, but the water flow was clear and charming. The photo was taken at Doupotang Waterfall.

The water layer of the waterfall spreads evenly along the gentle waterfall surface, dancing lightly on the scaled travertine beach, like a thin, translucent veil, or like plain silk stretched out one by one. The fan surface glows silver in the sun, so some people jokingly call it "bridal veil". The photo was taken at Doupotang Waterfall.

Tourists take pictures here

A major feature of Doupotang Waterfall is that there is a wide and flat beach on the waterfall. In Journey to the West, the scene of Tang Monk and his disciples wading through the water was shot here.

I also took a commemorative photo here

In order to allow tourists to take a perfect group photo with the waterfall, the scenic spot has built various paths such as plank roads, long bridges, and stone bridges. You can walk in a semicircle and take photos at 180°.

There are people who rent Miao costumes in the scenic area, and many tourists change their clothes here.

There are small Bitan pools of different sizes all over the beach, the shallow ones are only tens of centimeters, and the deep ones can reach several meters.

It is said that there are fish and shrimp in the Bitan on the river beach.

The water on the river beach in Doupotang Scenic Area is very clear

Along this stone bridge, you can reach the opposite side of the river beach.

This is Gao's shop across the river beach

The bathroom next to Gao's shop is very interesting, named "Fuchen Room".

Gaojiapuzi used to be the filming location of the TV film Journey to the West, which is called Westward Journey Road.

"The snow gushes through the sky, but you don't see the lower section, which is separated by the opposite cliff." This is Xu Xiake's description of Doupotang Waterfall in "Xu Xiake's Travel Notes". This is the Doupotang Waterfall taken from the West Journey Road.

Leave the Westward Journey Road, go to the exit of the scenic spot, and pass the stone bridge to the other side.

When we walked back, a large number of tourists began to enter the Doupotang scenic spot.

Pass by Huangguoshu Ecological Science Popularization Experience Hall on the return journey

You can turn the pages of the e-books in the Science Popularization Experience Hall with a wave of your hand

There is also a souvenir shop in the popular science experience hall

Near the exit of Doupotang Scenic Area, there are many small waterfalls.
