In late July 2021, during a trip to Ningxia, I stayed overnight in the Tengger Desert Camp. The picture shows the Tengger Inn Morocco Tented Camp where we stayed overnight.
The Tengger Desert is one of the four major deserts in China. It covers an area of about 40,000 square kilometers with the Great Wall in the south, Helan Mountain in the east and Yabulai Mountain in the west. The altitude of the desert is about 1200-1400 meters. In Mongolian, Tengger means sky, implying the vast quicksand like the boundless sky, hence the name. The Tengger Desert covers an area of about 42,700 square kilometers. The administrative division mainly belongs to Alxa Left Banner, and the western and southeastern edges belong to Wuwei Minqin, Wuwei, Gansu, and Zhongwei City in Ningxia respectively. The desert includes Nanjiling in the north and Tengger in the south. It is customary to collectively refer to the Tengger Desert. Arriving at the transfer station, there are off-road vehicles to run our equipment and materials to the desert camp. An older brother and I were over 70 years old and could not participate in desert experience activities, so we could only go to the desert camp with the off-road vehicle. The picture shows the off-road vehicle that took us to the desert camp.
Other group members have to pay 310 yuan per person to participate in six desert experience activities. The first item is to go deep into the desert camp in a desert giant surf vehicle. The picture shows the exit of the desert surfer.
The Tengger Desert Camp we stayed in is not too far from the transfer station, and there is a small lake in the camp. Two people live in a Moroccan tent.
After putting down my luggage, I went to the desert experience activity site not far away to meet up with the group members. It turned out that the camp we stayed in was called Tengger Inn. The picture shows the commemorative photo I took in front of the sign of Tengger Inn.
The desert behemoth surfing car driving in the distance is the return of the group members from desert surfing.

There are also hundreds of original ecological lakes that have survived for tens of millions of years in the Tengger Desert. Under the blue sky, the desert is vast, desolate and majestic, and the undulating sand dunes of thousands of miles are scattered high and low like solidified waves, and the soft lines show its extraordinary charm.

The second part of the desert experience activities of the group members is to ride a camel to travel in the sand sea. This is the camel standing still.
I couldn't participate in the desert experience activities, so I volunteered to take pictures for the group members. Each member of the group (including children) rides a camel.

The third item of the group members' desert experience activities is riding a horse to travel in the sand sea.

Riding a horse in the desert is a bit nondescript, and my enthusiasm for taking pictures is not that high.
The fourth item of the group members' desert experience activity is the passionate self-driving desert karting.
The fifth item of the group members’ desert experience activity is the passionate self-driving desert motorcycle. Because it is more dangerous, almost no one participates. I didn't get a picture either. The picture shows a group member hiking in the desert.
The sixth item of the desert experience activities of the group members is sand boarding. There is no time and number limit for this activity.

Tengger Desert Lodge has several different camps. This wooden house is called Longmen Inn.
The row of cabins behind the big tree has a water heater on it, so it should be possible to take a bath.

The sunset dinner by the lake begins. The big plate chicken, mixed cucumber, beer and rice were served first, and I was basically full.
Next up was the desert grill, which was lamb kebabs.

Delicious barbecue, refreshing beer, everyone toasted and drank, chatted happily, and talked to each other!
There are also bonfire parties, desert fireworks and karaoke, etc. I didn't stick to the end.
I vaguely heard someone talking outside, rubbed my glasses, and opened the tent. It turned out that my groupmates called me up to watch the sunrise. I checked my phone. It was only after 5 o’clock, but the sun was already rising.
Tengger Desert, a dreamland under the stars, feels good!
After breakfast, the camp also provides Moroccan blankets, red wine, fashion magazines, exquisite flower arrangements, fruits and other shooting props for everyone to take pictures.
