Our story starts from Shihezi
In the last 2 days of our trip to Xinjiang, we arrived at Shihezi from Karamay, and finally departed from Shihezi to Tianchi, Changji Tianshan. From military reclamation culture to red wine culture to Queen Mother of the West culture, the collision of the two cultures gave us a deeper understanding of Xinjiang. In my eyes, Xinjiang is not only a beautiful world of ice and snow, but also a city with rich heritage. Is my story ready, is your wine ready?

When we walked into the Military Reclamation Museum of the Xinjiang Corps, this passage suddenly appeared in front of us. In fact, what we went to this day was not the "real" Military Reclamation Museum, but a temporary exhibition hall, because the Military Reclamation Museum is currently undergoing maintenance and cannot be opened to the public. However, the temporary exhibition has moved the most essential part of the Military Reclamation Museum, the text part is also described in detail, and the narrator also introduced it very deeply, so it does not affect our understanding of the military reclamation culture in Shihezi.
The introduction of the exhibition hall is mainly based on written materials. Many wonderful stories are recorded on the exhibition boards in the form of pictures and words, but more stories are told to us by the narrator. She not only introduced us to the Corps The 14 divisions also told the story of the hard work of the army at that time. It is precisely because of these efforts that we can see the current appearance of Shihezi, which is thriving and developing. People in Shihezi have a sense of superiority when walking on the road. After all, with today's development, Shihezi has not only developed into an important city in Xinjiang, but has also become an important transportation hub in Xinjiang. Many places in the inland can be transferred to various regions in Xinjiang through Shihezi. All of these were due to the efforts of the legion at that time, including Zhang Zhonghan, etc. What kind of person is he? What kind of story does he have? Countless questions circled in my mind. Fortunately, the old residence I went to later gave me some answers.

Since 1950, Commander Wang Zhen, together with Tao Zhiyue and Zhang Zhonghan, have visited Shihezi several times. He pointed to the reeds and wild grass all over the sky and said: We will build a new city here and leave it to future generations. So the soldiers cut more than 6,000 logs on the ice and snow to build city facilities, which was the embryonic form of Shihezi. When the city was first planned, Shihezi was planned to be "square and square", starting from the meridian to build around, libraries, theaters, etc., many buildings are symmetrical about the central axis. The officers who built this new man lived near the central axis, and we walked along the road from the Military Reclamation Museum.
There is also a very old pink car parked in the compound, which is said to have been left behind at that time. The police dog guarding the yard began to bark non-stop when they saw someone entering the yard. I wonder if the police dog sitting here at that time was the same? The architectural design of the house here actually has many references to the Soviet Union. For example, the sides of the windows are beveled, so that when hiding behind the wall, people inside can see the outside, but people outside cannot see the inside. The interior of the house has also been carefully designed to protect the safety of the people living inside. One of the residents is Zhang Zhonghan.
Zhang Zhonghan is one of the founders of the military reclamation business in Xinjiang. He devoted his whole life to the country and the party. He had no wife and no children in his life. It can be seen from the environment in the old residence that the conditions for starting a business at that time were really good. It is extremely difficult. The predecessors can make such great sacrifices for the cause, so can we also contribute something? Accompanied by the dog barking and thinking, he left the former residence of the leaders of the Corps with tenacious steps.
Wine Tasting|Xinjiang Changyu Babao Baron Winery
Friends who have never been to Xinjiang should also know that the raisins in Xinjiang are delicious. The sunshine time in Xinjiang is very long, so the grapes are much more delicious than other places, so the wine made from grapes here is also very delicious. Not bad. There is a large winery in Shihezi, that is Xinjiang Changyu Babao Baron Winery.
The overall design of the winery is based on the 19th century French classical style. When you get off the car, you will see the majestic manor garden. You can't wait to enter the winery immediately. I have no resistance to this type of architectural style. The winery is very large, and it is a circular area with the main winery building in the middle as the core and then built around it.
The main building is mainly about the wine pipeline, cellar, exhibition hall and tasting room. The underground floor we went down first, the wine barrels placed one by one looked so spectacular, it looked like I broke into the wine storehouse on the Pirates of the Caribbean ship! It was the first time I saw such a group of wine barrels, the light was a bit dim, and it was kind of like walking inside a medieval castle. It's just that the group of people who are greedy for taking pictures has long been left behind by the team. They found the exhibition hall along the way, and finally joined the big team at the wine tasting room.
The table in the room is divided into grids, and each person has a glass of red wine and a glass of white wine in front of them. There are also small lights on the table, through which the wine can be illuminated to carefully observe the quality of the wine. In general wine tasting, observe first, then taste. Generally speaking, wine can be judged by the edge color band and the degree of transparency. Taking red wine as an example, the transparent wine is lighter, while the opaque wine is full-bodied, usually high in tannin and high acid, such as Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon and more. After finishing the trip in Shihezi, we hurried to Changji, not to mention, the car really ran for several hours. How big is Xinjiang? It takes nearly hundreds of kilometers to run casually between scenic spots. If you cross the city, you need to start with two to three hundred kilometers, but this does not mean that you will not come to Xinjiang for tourism. When we arrived in Changji in the evening, we were already hungry, so we went to Changji Muslim Snack Street, which is famous inside and outside of Xinjiang, to look for delicious food.
Perhaps it was because of the continuous heavy snow, so there were not many people in the snack street. Many shops were closed to ensure the warmth of the house. Those who didn’t know thought it was closed. It is said that there are usually a lot of people here, and many restaurants have to queue up to get food, such as fire-burning oil tart, lamb steamed meat, cold noodle barbecue, etc., which are very popular among local people.
As a foodie, I ate a little with everyone there, and then packed a pilaf back to the hotel. I have to say that the food in Xinjiang is amazing. If you eat less, eat more while you are here. I believe that if you come to Xinjiang, you will have the same idea as me. Touching my chubby belly and preparing to fall asleep, I found that the snow outside the window was still floating, hoping that everything would go well on the last day of the trip.
Beautiful Xinjiang | Tianshan Tianchi
Meeting Tianshan Tianchi is the most beautiful harvest of the trip to Xinjiang.
In the morning, we were also told that the road was blocked by snow and we might not be able to go there, and the scenic spots on the mountain were temporarily closed to the public due to the weather. Our hearts are so tugged, is it really impossible to go to Tianchi? Why don't we go and see? So we rushed all the way to Tianshan Tianchi scenic spot, waiting for the signal to open the scenic spot.
During the long wait, fortunately, we waited for the opening signal, changed into a sightseeing car, and headed to the main scenic spot of Tianchi Lake. There will be many scenic spots along the way. The smile here reminds everyone, don’t do the behavior of getting in the car to sleep and get off the car to pee, otherwise you will definitely miss a lot of beautiful scenery. Tianshan is really beautiful, and the scenery along the way is so different.
From the beauty at the foot of the mountain to the majesty at the top of the mountain, Tianchi Lake in Tianshan has given too many shocks. If the scenery at the foot of the mountain is described as a graceful woman, then the scenery at the top of the mountain is a heroic knight. I like the beautiful fairy-tale world at the foot of the mountain, and I also like the artistic conception of thousands of mountains and snow at the top of the mountain. This kind of beauty, only when you are on the scene can you truly feel the shock it brings to you.
On the way, our bus made an exception and allowed us to temporarily stop at the "Foot Washing Pool of the Queen Mother of the West" - Xixiao Tianchi. Usually there are almost no sightseeing buses stopping here. No one knows why, maybe because of this point It is relatively small, or maybe there are too many scenery in Tianshan Scenic Area to stop. But I have to say that our luck is indeed quite good. The Xixiao Tianchi in the aerial photography is like an irregular gemstone, revealing a trace of blue in the quiet and introverted, which is very beautiful.
I don't know how many corners I have passed, and finally came to the main scenic spot of Tianchi. The heavy snow did not cover up all the traces, but made Tianchi more charming. Who said that Tianchi is the most beautiful only on sunny days? The Tianchi Lake in the snow also has a unique charm. Fortunately, we were able to go to Tianchi in the end, otherwise we would regret it for the rest of our lives if we missed such a beautiful scenery. When you come to Xinjiang, you must not miss Tianshan Tianchi.
