Shannan is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Tibet Autonomous Region, with a total area of more than 79,200 square kilometers and actual control of 47,900 square kilometers. Shannan City has 1 municipal district and 11 counties under its jurisdiction. This time we are going to visit Qusong County, Cuona County, Cuomei County, Luozha County and other places under the jurisdiction of Shannan. This section mainly introduces our travel in Cuomei County and Luoza County and the scenic spots we visited.
Cuomei County is located in the southwest of Shannan. The county seat is 4,100 meters above sea level. It borders Longzi County in the east, Langkazi County in the west, Luozha County and Cuona County in the south, Qiongjie County and Naidong District in the north, and is far from Shannan City. The urban area is 130 kilometers away. Cuomei Tibetan means the lower reaches of the lake, and it is named after the famous Zhegucuo in its upper reaches.
Luozha County is located in the southwest of Shannan City, at the southern foot of the Himalayas. Luozha Tibetan means "Southern Great Cliff", which means that due to the cutting of Luozha Xiongqu River and its tributaries, a grand canyon from north to south has been formed in Luozha - Luozha Grand Canyon (South Tibet Grand Canyon) . In the west of Luozha County, there are Kulagangri Snow Mountain and Pumoyongcuo Lake. The natural scenery is colorful.
We traveled from Cuomei to Luozha County on September 28, 2020, and visited the Bianba Ancient Watchtowers, the Southern Tibet Grand Canyon, and Kajiu Temple on the way; on the 29th, Luozha County went to Lhasa via Langkazi County, and visited Pumoyong on the way Cuo and Tuiwa villages, and watched the beautiful scenery of Yamdrok Yongcuo.
When we were not far from Cuomei County, we saw a temple with a very unique architectural shape on the platform on the right side of the road. There are multiple layers of garden wheels, with a canopy and moon-raising orbs placed on the top, and the surrounding walls are square. The base and walls of the first floor of the main hall are painted yellow, while the upper base and the round tower body are white, which is very eye-catching. The scale of the temple is small, but such an architectural shape is something we have never seen before.
There was no one in the temple courtyard, and there were no words on the gate. We could only take pictures and leave. When I came back to check the map of Tibet, I found that there was a monastery called Bokar Gongba not far from the south of Cuomei County. The location was roughly the same as the place we went to. The monastery on the photo is not it.
Leaving the unknown temple, continue along the road and cross a mountain pass at an altitude of about 4,400 meters. There are many ancient watchtowers on the hillside and platform on the right side of the road. This is the ancient watchtower group in Bianba Township, Cuomei County. We have seen ancient Tibetan watchtowers before in Danba County on the Western Sichuan Plateau, but we did not expect to see them again in the depths of the alpine valleys in the south of the mountain. Unlike the Danba ancient watchtowers hidden in the woods and villages, most of the ancient watchtowers here are distributed in the vast fields or on the towering hillsides, looking majestic and upright.
Walking through the watchtowers, passing through the depths of the canyon, Bianba Township, which is only 3,650 meters above sea level, the road began to spiral upwards. After driving for about 10 kilometers, a snow mountain appeared on our right. We stopped at the viewing platform and carefully admired the magnificent scenery. The beautiful scenery of the snow mountain canyon: facing us is the Dalari Snow Mountain with an altitude of 7685 meters, and the bottom of the valley at the foot is the Qurequ River Valley with an altitude of only about 3200 meters. The scenery is comparable to the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon in Nyingchi.
After enjoying the scenery of snow-capped mountains and canyons, not far ahead is the famous Kajiu Temple in Loza. Kajiu Temple was first built in 1570. More than a hundred years later, the fifth Dalai Lama built the main hall of the temple. Bu and many other eminent monks and saints also passed on the teachings here.
Kajiu Temple is located on the mountain named "Jiapujin" behind Lakang Town, Luozha County, 75 kilometers away from the county seat and 4019 meters above sea level. Different from the majestic and magnificent scenery of the Tibetan plateau around, the mountains around Kajiu Temple are covered with a large area of virgin forest, with dense vegetation and a lush scene. It does not feel like being at a high altitude of more than 4,000 meters, as if you have come to the mountain forest in the south of the Yangtze River. middle.
After visiting the Kajiu Temple, proceed to Luozha County, along the way along the bottom of the Luozha Grand Canyon. On both sides of the canyon, there are vast, barren mountains and canyons cut by knives and axes. , endless feeling.
On September 29th, I left Luozha County, crossed the Mundala Pass at an altitude of 5,338 meters, and looked at Kula Gangri Mountain, one of the four sacred mountains in Tibet, and Pumoyongcuo was right in front of me.
"Pumo" is a transliteration of a Tibetan girl, "Yongcuo" means a lake like jasper, and Pumoyongcuo is a lake as clear as a girl. It is located in Puma Jiangtang Township, Langkazi County, Shannan City, with an altitude of 5010 meters. Just like its name, Pumoyongcuo is protected by the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Under the sunshine, it is blue and clear, without waves, and lies purely and peacefully among the Himalayan mountains.
Tuwa Village is a small village next to Pumoyongcuo, with an altitude of 5,070 meters, known as "the highest administrative village on earth". Because it "showed its face" in the TV program "The Third Pole", it is now Already a little "famous". When we went, the road into the village was being remodeled, so we couldn’t enter the village to feel the atmosphere of the “highest administrative village”. We had to take the sidewalk to reach the Tui Temple by Pumoyongcuo Lake, and enjoy the natural beauty and religious architecture. A magical sight combined.
This is the toilet known as "the most beautiful" in the rivers and lakes. It is not how beautiful the toilet is, but how beautiful the scenery can be enjoyed in the toilet.
On the way to Lhasa after visiting the Tui Temple, we passed Dalong Town in Langkazi County. It is located on the southwest bank of Yamdrok Lake. It was one of the three ancient towns in Tibet during the Sakya period. The ancient Zong site was once the seat of the Zong (equivalent to the county government), and the Dalong Qude Temple and Zhare Sangdan Qulin Temple at the foot of the mountain are still very popular, especially the Zhare Sangdan Qulin Temple built on the mountain has some Potala Palaces elegant demeanor.
