Most travelers come to Dafang for the Rhododendrons. There are very few tourists outside the flowering period. I may be one of those few people. In fact, the national cultural resources here are also quite rich. More than 1,400 years of hereditary rule by the Yi people has created a splendid Shuixi civilization (to the west of the Yachi River, the main stream of the Wujiang River), the Shexiang Museum and the Datun Tusi Manor are the best witnesses. The Miao people in Liuzhai have lived here for generations, and their production and lifestyle are still primitive.

Dafang County is located on a hillside among the mountains. The main road, Shexiang Avenue, is concentrated with many restaurants and accommodation.

In the Ming Dynasty, when the land was reformed, four Xuanwei Divisions, Guizhou, Bozhou, Sizhou, and Sinan, were established in Guizhou, and the Guizhou Xuanweifu Film and Television Base was established in Dafang County.

The reward of travel is to let you know the names of people, events, and places you have never heard of. You come to Dafang just to see the Shexiang Museum.

Shexiang is the wife of Guizhou Propaganda Envoy Aicui. After Aicui died of illness, Shexiang, who was only 23 years old, assumed the post of Guizhou Propaganda Envoy. She led the people to build post roads and set up post stations in the high mountains; Supported the Ming Dynasty to send troops to the South; hired Han Confucians to promote education and run schools, and spread advanced farming and weaving techniques; managed the northwest of Guizhou throughout his life. She not only improved the traffic conditions between the interior and the southwestern border, consolidated the frontier regime, but also promoted the economic and cultural development of the Shuixi area. When Mrs. Shexiang died of illness, she was only 38 years old. Zhu Yuanzhang sent envoys to attend the funeral and posthumously named her "Mrs. Shunde".

The Shexiang Museum was built to commemorate this legendary female politician of the Yi nationality. The Shexiang Theme Pavilion introduces the life and main achievements of Mrs. Shexiang in detail. The Yi Culture Complex uses a large number of pictures, objects and unearthed cultural relics to show in detail the five parts of the Yi language, chieftain culture, astronomy and calendar, religious beliefs, and culture and art. In the cemetery of the Shexiang Tomb, the nine-pan tomb in the Xumizuo style is surrounded by stones and sealed with soil. The main part of the tomb is composed of 9 stone slabs carved with dragon and tiger deformed pictures and 9 stone pillars with tiger head patterns, and the uppermost layer is a tile tube surrounded by 72 tiles with tiger face relief. The Yi people's spiritual culture of advocating dragons and tigers is reflected in the totems on the stone tiles.

Guizhou Xuanwei Mansion is a film and television shooting base built in 2008 for the filming of the TV series "Mrs. Shexiang". It consists of nine main halls on the central axis and eight courtyards on both sides. I bought a ticket to go in, and the content inside is empty, which is very boring. But I heard that the peaceful hometown of the protagonist of the TV series is Dafang.

There is also a Doumu Palace in Dafang County, which is built on the mountain. From the highest point, you can have a bird's-eye view of Dafang County, which is worth a visit.

Dafang’s prices are very cheap. I mainly ate fruit loquats along the way. From 25, 20, 15, I finally ate it at Dafang for 5 yuan per catty. In addition, Dafang's soy products are very famous and affordable. You can try shredded tofu, stinky tofu, tofu sticks, etc.

Before leaving, I suddenly thought that the people in this place should be very proud. When introducing my hometown, I said "I am a generous person", how grand is that.
