【The Millennium Ancient Capital Taiyuan】
Ancient Chinese civilization, Shanxi has beautiful scenery. Taiyuan, Shanxi, an ancient capital with a history of more than 2,500 years, has been known as "Splendid Taiyuan City" since ancient times. During this two-day, one-night trip to Taiyuan, I visited the three classic scenic spots of Jinci Temple, Taiyuan Ancient County Town and Shuangta Temple. During the period, I also came across a treasure hotel, the Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng Hotel, and I liked it very much.
【Itinerary Overview】
For this trip, I started from Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and went to Taiyuan, Shanxi. The whole itinerary is two days and one night, the main play lines are as follows:
DAY1: Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport-Taiyuan Wusu International Airport-Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng Hotel-Jinci Temple-Taiyuan Ancient County Town.
DAY2: Shuangta Temple - Return.
【Practical strategy】
1. About traffic:
1. There are direct flights from Hangzhou to Taiyuan, and direct high-speed rail, which is very convenient.
2. For traffic in Taiyuan, it is very convenient to take a taxi during the day and night. Except for the slight traffic jam in the morning and evening peak hours, most of the rest of the time is very smooth.
2. About accommodation:
1. There are all kinds of hotels and B&Bs in Taiyuan. I really like the Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng Hotel that I stayed in this time. Not only does it have the consistent service standards and quality of the Hyatt Hotel, but it is also only a few kilometers away from Wusu International Airport and Taiyuan South Railway Station. It takes about 10 minutes by car, which is very convenient.
3. About food:
1. Be sure to taste Shanxi pasta, as well as mature vinegar and Fenjiu. Remember to try the braised noodles that Taiyuan people love.
4. About the scenic spot:
1. This year, the policy of benefiting the people of tourism was launched. There are 75 scenic spots in Shanxi Province, including Mount Wutai, Ancient City of Pingyao, and Yungang Grottoes. Tourists with ID cards from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai are exempted from admission.
[Jin Temple: Taiyuan version of "Forbidden City"]
The Jinci Museum, located in Jinci Park, is a must-see attraction for tourists to Taiyuan. Jinci, a collection of ancient Chinese temple buildings, gardens, sculptures, murals, and inscription art, is a precious historical and cultural heritage. The Jinci Sanjue, Three Treasures, and Three Famous Plaques in the museum are even more amazing!
The 43 painted statues of maids in the Notre Dame Hall, the Zhou Bai outside the Notre Dame Hall dating back more than 3,000 years, and the endlessly flowing Nanlaoquan are known as the "Three Wonders of Jinci Temple". The main hall of the temple is the Hall of the Virgin, the earliest cross-shaped ancient bridge in my country, the fish marsh flying beam, and the dedication hall known as the "ancient refrigerator". They are known as the three national treasures of Jinci. The Yueyue plaque above the Yueyue square built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the "Shuijingtai" plaque written in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty hung above the water mirror platform of the stage, and the "Nianlao" which is known as a magical pen in the Nanlaoquan Pavilion The plaque is called "the three famous plaques of Jin Temple". A Jin Temple, with so many places of interest, no wonder it is called the Taiyuan version of the "Forbidden City"!
【Taiyuan Ancient County】
After visiting the Jinci Temple, we came to the ancient county town of Taiyuan not far away. The ancient county seat of Taiyuan is an early Ming county seat located on the ruins of the ancient county seat of Taiyuan. There are many cultural relics and buildings in the city, as well as major scenic spots such as the county government, Confucian Temple, Guandi Temple, and Cross Street.
After admiring the ancient county town of Taiyuan during the day, don't rush to leave. There are amazing night scenes and light shows at night, which is also a must. The ancient county town of Taiyuan at night is a bit like the "Da Tang City That Never Sleeps" in Xi'an. With more tourists and more popularity, it is a proper internet celebrity scenic spot.
[Shuangta Temple: Taiyuan Landmark]
The original name of Shuangta Temple is Yongzuo Temple, and the common people call it Shuangta Temple. The Shuangta Temple faces north and is dominated by Ming Dynasty buildings. The main buildings include temples, pagoda courtyards, and stele corridor courtyards. Among them, the east and west towers in the Tayuan are the most famous, and are called "Lingxiao Twin Towers".
"Lingxiao Twin Towers" is one of the eight scenic spots in Taiyuan, and it is also a symbol of Taiyuan. Both towers are 13-storey pavilion-style hollow brick towers with a plane octagonal structure. The height of the two towers is more than 54.7 meters. They are the tallest twin towers in China and the tallest existing ancient buildings in Taiyuan, Shanxi. Since the two towers were built at different times, the styles of the two towers are also different. The south tower is more beautiful, and the north tower is more rough. Moreover, one of the towers is still open for tourists to climb up. In addition, in addition to the "Lingxiao Twin Towers" in the pagoda courtyard, in fact, other buildings such as the Daxiong Hall in the temple are also very worth seeing.
【Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng】
I really like the Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng Hotel I stayed at this time. Before coming to Taiyuan, I searched for hotels close to the airport and the high-speed rail station, saw Hyatt Place, and decided to choose it. And the hotel is very considerate, providing free pick-up and drop-off service.
Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng is the first Hyatt brand hotel in Shanxi Province. It is not far from Wusu International Airport and Taiyuan South Railway Station. It only takes about 10 minutes by car, which is very convenient. The modern design of the hotel is simple and elegant. There are more than 200 rooms of various types, as well as Jiawei restaurant, lobby bar, meeting room, fitness center and other supporting facilities. The service is also very user-friendly, and the staff always greet customers with a smile.
【Lobby】
The hotel lobby has an open design and is divided into a front desk, a rest area, and a lobby bar. The younger brothers and younger sisters at the front desk are serious, warm and thoughtful. On the left side of the front desk, there is also a small 24-hour convenience store, which is very considerate. Opposite the front desk is the lounge area (electronics room) in the lobby, which is very warmly furnished, and I like it very much. Sofas, desks, etc. are comfortable and have a sense of design. TVs, printers, and computers are fully equipped. It can be said that you can rest and work well.
Lobby bar, I also like it very much. In the afternoon, you can come to order a coffee or afternoon tea, and in the evening, you can come and order a cocktail. Here, you can chat and laugh with friends, or relax alone.
【Room】
The hotel has more than 200 room types such as double bed rooms, twin bed rooms, suites, and parent-child rooms. The big bed room I live in is very good! The decoration and display design in the guest rooms are atmospheric and modern. Bright floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable big bed, large-screen high-definition TV, safe, and writing desk are all available. Bedding, toiletries, sofas, and seats are very comfortable to use. The toilet and shower room are also spacious. The sofa can also be turned into a sofa bed, which is very practical and considerate.
A big-mouthed monkey-themed parent-child room for a family of three friends, full of childlike fun! The room is full of elements of Paul Frank, the big mouth monkey, on slippers, teacups, pillows, bath towels, bathrobes, carpets, quilts, and toiletries. The most enviable thing is that there are small tents, swings, and slides. Such a soft, cute and playful parent-child room, let alone children like it very much, even adults like me want to live in it.
【Jiawei Restaurant】
Jiawei Restaurant offers buffet and all-day a la carte. The restaurant has rich dishes and fresh ingredients, including Chinese and Western food, cold snacks, desserts and juices. Ming file homework, eat at ease. Have a bowl of braised noodles in the morning, which is a favorite of Taiyuan people, to start a day full of energy; order a steak pasta for dinner to satisfy your taste buds.
At the same time, the restaurant is also open to the public. The popularity is very high, and there is an endless stream of diners. I checked the Internet on my mobile phone, and there are various discount packages. Whether it is word of mouth or cost performance, Jiawei restaurant is a good choice.
【Hotel facilities and surrounding environment】
The hotel is not only suitable for people on vacation and business trips, but also suitable for undertaking and holding family banquets and wedding banquets, company team building, and large, medium and small meetings. The hotel has large conference rooms, boxes, tea break services, etc.
The hotel is also equipped with a 24-hour fitness center. Friends who love fitness and exercise, don't miss it. If you don't like to exercise indoors, you can also go to Dongli Park across the road from the hotel. The environment is beautiful, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle, and there are fitness trails, badminton courts, basketball courts, etc. A walk in Dongli Park after dinner or early in the morning adds a bit of leisure and ease. In addition, the commercial complex where the hotel is located has its own movie theater and other supporting facilities. There are also North American N1 shopping malls and Mixc City nearby, so it is very convenient to eat, drink and play.
【postscript】
This trip to Taiyuan was fruitful and I had a great time. Although it was only a two-day and one-night itinerary, I visited the long-awaited Jinci Temple, checked in the ancient county town of Taiyuan, a new Internet celebrity scenic spot, visited the landmark Shuangta Temple and boarded Xuanwen, one of the "Lingxiao Twin Pagodas" tower. I also met Hyatt Place Taiyuan Longcheng Hotel, and the staying experience was super! There are still many delicacies and beautiful scenery in Taiyuan that have not yet been experienced. I look forward to the next trip to Taiyuan.
