History and culture: Tongren City is a multi-ethnic inhabited area dominated by Tibetans. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a political-religious system centered on Longwu Temple has gradually formed. Cultural diversity is one of its characteristics. The traffic in Tongren area is relatively closed, the economy and culture are backward, and the ancient primitive culture is well preserved.
Transportation: Take a bus from Xining Bus Station to Tongren for about 2 hours, drive southeast, cross the Yellow River, pass through the Longwu Gorge of more than 20 kilometers, and pass through the open Longwu Canyon to reach Tongren.
After arriving at Tongren, start from Huangnan Bus Station, drive south along Dongshan Road for 180 meters, turn slightly left into Dehelong South Road, drive 0.8 kilometers along Dehelong South Road, pass Longwu Town Health Center for about 200 meters Turn right, drive more than 300 meters, and arrive at Longwu Temple, Tongren's first scenic spot.
Longwu Temple is located at the foot of West Mountain, Longwu Town, where the capital of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in Qinghai Province. The temple was first built in the Yuan Dynasty. It is located on the banks of the middle reaches of the Longwu River and has a pleasant climate. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit. "Longwu" is a Tibetan language, meaning agricultural area. In the Anduo area, its scale, status and influence are second only to the Labrang Monastery in Gansu Province and Kumbum Monastery in Qinghai Province.
The temple is built on the mountain, with well-proportioned layout and magnificent decoration. Longwu Temple currently has more than 2,000 monks and 14 living Buddhas, the largest of which is the master of the temple, Xia Ricang (VIII). The living Buddhas who live in the temple also play Chicang, Longwucang, Kasuhucang, Quanducang, Secang and Yeshijiangcang, etc. After the restoration of Longwu Temple, Longwu Temple has regained its former style. Patchwork, gorgeous and magnificent decoration. The Great Sutra Hall is located in the center of the temple, with a construction area of more than 1,700 square meters and a circumference of 170 meters. There are 18 giant columns, 146 short columns, and dozens of statues such as Shiying Muni inside. The statue of Master Tsongkhapa is 11 meters high, with a circumference of 26 meters at the bottom of the base.
After visiting Longwu Temple, drive for about 10 minutes to Regong Art Museum in Huangnan Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is located in the center of Longwu Town, Tongren City. It is the only Tibetan painting research institution in Qinghai Province. It was founded in October 1979. With an area of 4,910 square meters and a construction area of 2,983 square meters, it is the only regional ethnic museum in the whole state. There are 9 exhibition halls in the museum: Cultural Relics Hall, Thangka Hall, Sculpture Hall, Sand Painting Hall, Duixiu Hall, Mantang Hall, Folklore Hall, etc. The exhibition hall covers an area of 960 square meters and exhibits 870 pieces of collections in nine categories. There are 32 varieties of Regong fine arts of past dynasties, as well as copper, wood, stone, ivory, silk, pottery, rare ancient books, etc.
After visiting the Regong Art Museum, drive for about 60 kilometers. Came to the beautiful Guashze Grassland, Guashze Grassland, about 3,500 meters above sea level, located in Guashze Township, Tongren County. There are green grass, flocks of cattle and sheep, felt bags like buckles, and meandering rivers, known as "Paradise Grassland".
Every year at the beginning of July in the Gregorian calendar, yellow Gesang flowers bloom all over the mountains and fields. Seen close up, Gesang flowers are golden in color, bright and beautiful; seen from a distance, patches of Gesang flowers cover the original green grassland with a yellow coat, which is extremely enchanting. There is a breeze on both sides, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. All of these make people feel refreshed, comfortable, and unwilling to leave for a long time...
