The pagoda originated in India, and the pagoda was originally used to symbolize the Buddha. According to legend, a believer asked Sakyamuni, what method should he use to show his respect? Sakyamuni replied, "Lay the cassock on the ground, cover the cassock with the begging bowl, and then erect the tin staff on the bowl." This produced the prototype of the tower. Worshiping the pagoda is equivalent to worshiping the Buddha.
The Theravada Buddhist teachings of Theravada are closer to the teachings of primitive Buddhism, so the Buddhist pagoda has more important symbolic significance in Theravada Buddhism.

It is a symbol of Buddha and a symbol for Buddhists to look up to Buddha. The number of circles of the phase wheel is an odd number, and the size and number represent the level and shape of the tower. There are up to thirteen phase wheels, representing the thirteen heavens of Buddhism.
