Now we often hear people saying "no Ali, no Tibet". What kind of place is Ali in Tibet? It is often heard from people who have been to Ngari that "Ngari is not suitable for those who enter Tibet for the first time, because of the high altitude and harsh climate in Ngari". However, Ngari area has magnificent natural landscapes and sacred religious culture , retains a long history of relics, maintains the original natural ecology, retains the simple ethnic customs, and always exudes mysterious charm, attracting wave after wave of fascinated travel friends.
Ali is "the ancestor of thousands of mountains" and "the source of hundreds of rivers". Here is the world-class holy mountain-Kang Rinpoche, and there is Manasarovar, the head of the holy lake in Tibet; there is also the 100-kilometer-wide Zada soil forest and the ruins of the Guge Kingdom with a history of 700 years. This is a road full of challenges, but also a beautiful road - Ali Great North Line. In the magnificent scenery, you can enjoy the majestic and majestic mountains of the Himalayas, Gangdise, Kunlun, Karakoram, etc., and famous rivers such as Shiquan River, Maquan River, Xiangquan River and Kongque River.
What do you need to pay attention to when you go deep into the wild north of Tibet?
(1) Route
1. The 8-day Ali South Line is the easiest and shortest way to play. Main attractions: Mount Everest, Mapang Yumco, Laangcuo, Gang Rinpoche, Pulan, Zada;
2. The Ali Great North Line is a combination of the South Line and the North Line. It is very adventurous and takes 13 to 16 days. Main scenic spots: holy mountains and holy lakes (Kang Rinpoche, Mapang Yumco), Zada soil forest, Guge Dynasty ruins, Pangong Co, Selincuo, Dangre Yumco, Namtso, etc.
(2) Traffic
There are too many dangers and uncertainties in the route of the Great Northern Line, unless you can find a few friends who go at the same time, or go with an outdoor club to carpool and make an appointment with the same person. It is also the most mainstream way to take the Great Northern Line at present. Ali Dabei Most of the lines are dirt roads, swamps, and most of them need to walk along the ruts, so you will see that Toyota Prado is the main model used on the Ali Great North Line. There are only two modes of transportation for traveling on the Ali Great Northern Line - either a chartered car or a carpool. This is definitely not alarmist talk! The price of a chartered car is more expensive than that of a group, but it is relatively free. Carpooling is also done by old local drivers, regular Tibetan L coaches, safety is definitely guaranteed.
(3) Credentials
To go to the Ali Great North Line, you need to apply for a border defense certificate, because many places are next to the border. The border defense permit can be obtained at the local registered residence, or by an outdoor club or a travel agency. In fact, there is no need to worry about the issue of border defense certificates. Outdoor clubs will help with border defense certificates.
(4) Board and lodging
The conditions in Pulan, Zada and Shiquanhe towns are still acceptable. Due to the remoteness of other places, most of them are prefabricated houses, especially in Tachin, Shuanghu and other places. Therefore, it is recommended that you bring sleeping bags and cold-proof clothes when traveling to Ali. Because it is located in the polar region, the population here is less than 120,000, and there is nothing to grow in the soil. The supplies are quite scarce, and the cost of meals is naturally high. It can be imagined that it has tripled. Of course, the medical conditions here are also very poor, so it is recommended that you prepare some daily medicines such as cold medicine and gastrointestinal medicine before departure.
(5) Travel time
Every year from May to September is the best time to go to Ali. After September, there will be snowfall in Ali area. I personally think that June and September are the best two months, because July/August happens to be the rainy season. No matter what month you go to Ali, down jackets are a must-have, because the altitude is high, the temperature is low, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is large. In addition, waterproof jackets and shoes are also necessary.
Seeing the vitality of Ali with your own eyes is the most rare experience. On the Ali Great Northern Line, you will come into contact with the most primitive owners on the vast land of Ali, such as Tibetan antelopes, Tibetan wild donkeys, golden silk wild yaks, black-necked cranes, etc. It is the greatest surprise gifted by nature! Walking into Ali is like walking into a chaotic world. Distant, ethereal, otherworldly, with a unique beauty of wilderness.
