Shortly after crossing the Gacola Pass at an altitude of 5,220 meters, we arrived at Tingri County and entered Gangga Town at night. Tingri County is divided into old and new. Gangga Town was the seat of Tingri County Government before 1968, that is, old Tingri, and new Tingri was moved to Xieger Town. Most tourists stay in Xindingri, because it is close to the base camp of Mount Everest, and few stay in Old Dingri.
Choose an inn at the entrance of the town to stay on the second floor, the night is quite quiet. Woke up in the morning and opened the window to catch up with the sunrise. The sun reflected the ridge red and slowly moved down, and a large section of the Himalayas appeared in front of us.
From the window, you can see a corner of Mount Everest, as well as peaks above 8,000 meters such as Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu at an altitude of 8,201 meters.
After a while, the shadows in front of me gradually became clear, the villages began to appear, and faint clouds rose up. Because the altitude was too high, they could only surround the waist.
At this moment, the mountains and the land are golden, and there are few people in the town, but they feel the warmth of winter.
There is a temple on a hill in the center of the town, with carved beams and painted buildings, yellow tiles and red walls. I just saw it and thought it was out of place with Tibetan architecture. It is a temple in the style of the Han nationality in the inland. When you know that this is a Han Guandi Temple built to commemorate the victory of the Qing army and the Tibetan defenders against the invasion of the Gurkha army, you are suddenly in awe!
This Guandi Temple is called Everest Guandi Temple, and it is the highest Guandi Temple in the world. More than 200 years ago, Gurkha (Nepal today) failed to ask Tibet for the New Year's coins. On the pretext of Lhasa's breach of contract, they sent troops to invade Tibet. , Quanzang is in a hurry. The Qing government sent troops into Tibet, and together with the Tibetan soldiers repelled the Gurkhas, they won many battles and regained Tibet.
The generals and soldiers of the Qing army who participated in the war believed that Emperor Guandi was holy, so they built a temple for Emperor Guandi in Dingri Gangga Mountain, facing Mount Everest far away. In China, the war went smoothly, witnessing the history of the Chinese nation working together to fight against foreign invasion and maintain the unity of the motherland.
Before leaving Old Dingri Gangga, I walked around the town. There was a fixed mutton stall in the middle of the street. Every morning, the villagers would bring the whole sheep slaughtered last night here, and hang them under the tarpaulin to sell them. At least one would be needed. Only a quarter of the sheep is willing to sell. After asking, a quarter of it is about 300-400 yuan. Unfortunately, I have no place to barbecue when I buy it. They buy sheep in bulk, and probably eat meat in bulk, which is very ethnic.
National Highway 318 out of the town has many water pools along the line, which just reflect the snow-capped mountains and accompany it all the way to a long distance.
