The first time I heard about Xiasi Ancient Town was from friends around me, Xiasi Xiasi, I felt very fond of this place name, so I went online to Baidu. This ancient town known as "Little Shanghai" was an important commercial town at that time. On the weekend, I bought a high-speed rail ticket by myself and rushed to Xiasi.
Xiasi Ancient Town is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and a provincial-level scenic spot in Guizhou Province. Located in the upper reaches of Qingshui River, it is located in the south west of Kaili City, adjacent to Majiang County in the west, Yatang Street in Kaili City in the east, Xingshan Town in Majiang County in the west, Xuanwei Town in Majiang County in the south, and Fuquan in the north city. It spans between 107°42′3″-53′9″ east longitude and 26°26′29″-34′3″ north latitude. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, it belonged to the branch office of the Pingding Chief Law Office, and because it was located in the lower reaches of Pingding, it was named Xiasi. The total area of the town is 154 square kilometers, of which the total land area is 22,100 mu; the population is 50,000 (35,000 permanent residents), and most of them are Miao, Mulao and other ethnic minorities. At the same time, Xiasi Ancient Town is known as "Little Shanghai" and "Pearl on the Qingshui River". It is the national kayak demonstration base, the hometown of Chinese red garlic, the hometown of zinc and selenium rice, and the hometown of the world famous dog Xiasi dog. ..
When I arrived in Xiasi, I happened to catch up with the wedding performance "Happy Meeting Xiasi". The matchmaker's magical laughter and enchanting dance made the audience laugh. By the way, I also drank Miao's rice wine, which was sweet. During the performance of wedding customs, the audience will be invited to drink wedding wine and eat wedding candy. The groom participating in the performance will also receive a flower belt from the Miao family and walk around the Lusheng Square with the "beautiful" bride on his back. Walk along Lusheng Square and come to Yangming Academy. This is a scenic spot with a free guide. The one who explained it to me was a handsome little brother. There is also a pagoda of Xizi next to the academy, which can be copied for free, and a lot of beautiful photos were taken here.
I tasted local specialty snacks, such as blueberry ice powder, moon cakes, and mashed potatoes. The rich potato flavor is dipped in chili noodles. For people like me who love spicy food, they are really salivating. If you can't eat spicy food, you don't need to dip it in chili, and you can taste the original taste of potatoes.
This instant trip did not disappoint me. Many buildings are preserved in the ancient town, and the Western architecture is also well preserved in this ancient town. This is not found in other ancient towns. The important thing is that it is not as commercialized as Lijiang and Dali. The ancient town has a strong atmosphere of humanistic life, and residents are drinking tea and chatting everywhere. This is one of my favorite points, where I can feel the breath of life.
