I traveled to Guizhou in July this year and visited the Xiasi Ancient Town in Kaili. The location of this ancient town is located in Kaili City, adjacent to the Qingshui River. Along the river, you can go directly to the two lakes, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and go up the river to Duyun City, Guizhou. The traffic extends in all directions. It has a history of 600 years. Visiting this ancient town, you can experience the rich national culture and diverse architectural art, it is worth a visit.

The ancient town of Xiasi from the outside is quite charming. The water of the Qingshui River is very green. The stilted buildings of the Miao family are erected by the river. They are built in rows along the river, which has a unique flavor.

When I entered the ancient town, I first came to the archway of the ancient town. If the guide hadn't told me, I would never have stopped to look at this archway carefully. This is an eight-storey three-bay archway in the Qing Dynasty. It is a landmark building archway. There are many humanistic stories engraved on the archway. I can’t remember the story clearly. I remember the commentator said that the octagonal caisson at the top of the archway is in the middle of the archway. I remember him because the commentator said that the eight corners are carved with the Eight Immortals. The former Xiasi Ancient Town was a commercial port wharf, and there were many businessmen coming and going. It brought prosperity to Xiasi.

After passing the archway, I entered a troubled street. The barber shop, hardware store, breakfast shop, farm tool store, grocery store and old people basking in the sun reminded me of the shopping scene in my hometown when I was a child. This place has not been over-developed. The local The simple folk customs are well preserved

The ancient town of Xiasi is different from the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. You can not only see courtyards in the south of the Yangtze River, Hui style buildings, Western buildings, Diaojiaolou of the Miao family, but also the Drum Tower of the Dong family. The most amazing thing is that this is not built later. It's all left over from history. I have to admire the commercial port at that time, which attracted all kinds of businessmen. I heard from the narrator that there are many businessmen who have come to do business more, and there are many stories of love and stability with the local Miao girls in Xiasi. The daily performances in the ancient town are arranged according to the stories of a pair of Miao and Han couples in the past. A very good show, worth watching.

There are free guides in Yangming Academy and Yuwang Palace. Yangming Academy seems to be found in many places. Xiasi Yangming Academy was built to commemorate Mr. Yangming. Xiasi people pay attention to education, and there is a "women's academy" here, which really surprised me. Yuwang Palace is the history museum of Xiasi, and it seems to have changed its name. There are three museums here, all of which introduce the history of Xiasi from ancient times to the present, and some famous businessmen.

Walking in the streets of the ancient town, the most frequent encounters are the loyal partners of the local people. The "Xiasi Dog" is the third-ranked dog in the world according to the tour guide. It is very ferocious in hunting, but the Xiasi dogs seen everywhere in the ancient town are very leisurely. Satisfied, the puppy I saw was very cute, with white hair all over its body.

In half a day, wander around the corners of Xiasi Ancient Town. There is not much hustle and bustle of modern commercial culture in the ancient town, but there are nostalgic streets, mottled stone roads, winding small rivers and simple local folk customs. It is a good parade. If you have the opportunity to come here again, staying in a small town for a few days, it should be a different experience.
