Cycling tour of the Dai Nationality Garden, the scenery along the way is magnificent, riding on the banks of the Lancang Mekong River. Feel the natural scenery of the river. Ride freely and travel with friends. It is about 24 kilometers from Gaozhuang Xishuangjing to Dai Nationality Park. We rode for about 90 minutes or so.
The Lancang River passes through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and enters the South China Sea in the Pacific Ocean south of Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam. The total drainage area is 810,000 square kilometers. It is the river that flows through the most countries in Asia. The Lancang River is 2,179 kilometers long in China and flows through the three provinces of Qinghai, Tibet, and Yunnan, of which 1,247 kilometers are in Yunnan, with a drainage area of 165,000 square kilometers, accounting for 22.5% of the Lancang-Mekong River basin area.
The Lancang River is one of the major rivers in Southwest China and an international major river in Asia. The Lancang River originates from the snow-capped wetlands in the Tanggula Mountains. The rich snow-capped mountains and groundwater in wetland conservation areas provide conditions for the formation of the Lancang River. The Lancang River Basin is the region with the most ethnic, religious and landscape diversity in my country, ranging from tropical rain forests to snow-capped mountains and meadows. It not only has beautiful scenery, but also has rich humanities.
When I came to the beach, I felt the clear water of the Lancang Mekong River. Shuaiguo, like me, came to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. Record every bit of riding on the road.
The river water is so clear, wash off the dust on the road and we continue to set off to the destination, Menghan Town.
After an hour and a half of riding, we arrived at Menghan Town, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna, which is where the Dai Nationality Garden is located. We took a group photo with people, vehicles and place names. At least we have ridden here. The ride is great. There are many road cars, so we should pay more attention to safety.
The temples along the way look very old and should have a history of hundreds of years. In Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, the Dai people believe in Buddhism. Every village has a Buddhist temple.
Dai Buddhism is also called "Theravada Buddhism" and "Southern Buddhism". Between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, Indian Buddhism split into a Mahayana sect that advocated "pursuing all living beings". The original Buddhism and sect Buddhism that only sought self-liberation were called Hinayana. Theravada Buddhism was later spread to Sri Lanka, and then to the Indochina Peninsula and Yunnan Province of China.
Let’s take a photo together, you two have worked hard and brought us here together,
It’s not easy to take a group photo. It’s not easy for us to ride bicycles the whole time. Are we all traveling by car now? Life still needs passion. Like yourself! We travel low-carbon.
One red and one black, little red is mine, little black is a friend,

I came to the small market in the Dai Garden, which mainly sells barbecue, fruits, and handicrafts, etc. The fruits are tropical fruits, locally grown coconuts, bananas, etc.

Lao Mitao, the Dai people are called grandma (Lao Mi Tao), and grandpa is called (Lao Potao).
The old man is selling pendants worn with rubber seeds and handicrafts worn with flowers, which are very cheap. These are also flowers grown in the Dai garden, and they are very beautiful to wear. The elderly are also very serious about making handicrafts.
Park the two brothers first, have a good rest, and go back in the afternoon.
The Asian elephant is the largest surviving continental animal in Asia. Its tusks, which are more than 1 meter long, are the incisors protruding from the upper jaw of male elephants, and are also powerful defensive weapons. The elephant's eyes are small and its ears are large, and the ears can cover the sides of the neck backwards. The limbs are thick and strong, with 5 toes on the forelimbs and 4 toes on the hind limbs. The tail is short and thin, the skin is thick and wrinkled, and the whole body is covered with sparse short hair. The top of the head is the highest point, with a body length of 5-6 meters, a height of 2.1-3.6 meters, and a weight of 3-5 tons. [1] There are very few wild elephants now, and there are many domestic and slave elephants domesticated in some countries in Southeast Asia. China's wild elephants are only distributed in the southern part of Yunnan Province, border areas adjacent to Myanmar and Laos. The number is very rare, and they have been hunted and killed repeatedly, causing serious damage. It belongs to the national first-class protected animals.
You can take pictures with Asian elephants, or you can ride them to experience them.
Thousands of people splashing water square
Songkran Festival, also known as "Buddha Festival", or "Lenghe Shanghan", people splash each other with pure water, praying to wash away the troubles of the past year. Songkran is the New Year of the Dai people, which is equivalent to April 13th to 15th in the Gregorian calendar.
Thousands of people splashing water square
There are water splashing activities every day
It's a pity we came by bike and didn't take part in the water splash. The time is wrong, so I can only come again next time
Next to the splashing water square is the song and dance theater. We just happened to be at the performance time, and we can enjoy the Dai family song and dance performance

The scenery of the Dai Nationality Garden is very good. Xishuangbanna is like spring all the year round. It is now mid-November, and there are blooming flowers everywhere. The vegetation is lush. Singing birds and fragrant flowers. The temperature is 26°C. Suitable for winter.

Looking at the Dai village through the flower gate, there is a special scenery.
The Dai bamboo house is a kind of stilted building, which is mainly constructed of bamboo, so it is called "bamboo house". The Dai bamboo house is a typical building inherent to the Dai people.
When you enter the Dai Nationality Garden, you must go to Manchun Manfo Temple
This is an ancient temple with a long history and a national key cultural relic.
Founded in 583 A.D., it has a history of more than 1,400 years. It is one of the famous local Buddhist temples. It is said that it is the first Buddhist temple built after Buddhism was introduced into Xishuangbanna. But the original Buddhist temple was destroyed in the 1960s, and the Buddhist temple that people see now was built in the late 1970s.

The murals of Manchun Man Buddhist Temple are one of the representative works of Theravada Buddhist murals, which have unique artistic features and present localized and nationalized characteristics. Whether it is from the content of murals or the form of Buddhist temple architecture, the modeling language reflects this feature.

After visiting the Dai Nationality Garden, I am ready to ride back. Here is a close-up
falling frangipani
Frangipani is planted in temples in Xishuangbanna. Frangipani is widely planted as one of the "five trees and six flowers" by Buddhist temples, so it is also called "temple tree" or "tower tree".
The Legend of Frangipani
Legend has it that frangipani was an angel before reincarnation. Because love violated the rules of heaven, she fled to the southern kingdom of the world. However, if he offended Tianwei, how could he escape. On that day, on Tianzhu Rock of Seven Star Crags, it wrapped its beloved token of love, the yellow ribbon, tightly around its white wings for the last time. Then hit the rock in a pebble-on-rock method.
God was also moved by her. At the place where she died in love, a magical tree grew, with flowers blooming like eggs, yellow and white. From then on, in the southern country, every season of dying for love, magical flowers bloom everywhere. (Du Niang searched~~~~).
ready to return
Passing by a roadside shop, I saw coconuts for 10 yuan each. Drink a little for energy.
Coconuts are picked and chopped. fresh coconut milk
Coconut juice is the extracted juice from the coconut fruit of the palm plant coconut tree. The juice is as clear as water, quite sweet, translucent, cool and thirst-quenching. One coconut, about two glasses of water, two tablespoons of sugar, protein, fat, vitamin C, is an extremely nutritious drink. In the hot summer, coconut juice has a very good effect of cooling and refreshing, promoting body fluid and quenching thirst. In addition, coconut milk also has the effects of strengthening the heart, diuresis, repelling insects, and stopping vomiting and diarrhea.
The pineapple fields seen on the way back. Many friends don't know that pineapples grow in the ground. It turned out that many students who went to school thought it was growing on trees. I can understand the science.
This is how pineapples grow. This is an immature pineapple, (this should be considered a youth), and it will mature after a while.

It took about an hour and 50 minutes to ride back to the city, and the return ride was relatively slow. Today's total mileage is about 50 kilometers. I saw the most beautiful scenery and felt the culture of the Dai family in the Dai Garden. A very meaningful journey. Learn about local culture and different scenery along the way by cycling. Makes sense. Hope more friends come to Xishuangbanna. Eat Dai food once, be a Dai family for a day.
