This Spring Festival, I thought that there would be no chance to travel. My boyfriend said, why don't we just go shopping around Ningxia and leave the autonomous region. Thinking about it later, the two of them had never been to Yinchuan, so they simply took a stroll in Yinchuan.
Because of the epidemic, at first I was worried that the local area would become a medium-high risk city after renting a car, which would affect the return of the car, so I didn't think much about renting a car. Later, I came across a message by chance. If this is the case, Yihi Rent a Car can apply for rent reduction or exemption. This is completely good news for us, so we decided to choose Yihi to rent a car.
This article is mainly written around the must-see attractions in Yinchuan. During the Spring Festival, the attractions are open normally, fully realizing our Yinchuan self-driving tour
Yinchuan Nanguan Great Mosque
Yihi car rental store is located in the underground parking lot of the airport. After landing in Yinchuan, we go directly to pick up the car. This time we rented a Lingpai, with an average of 150 yuan per day. This price is not bad during the Spring Festival.
After picking up the car, our first stop is the Yinchuan Nanguan Mosque, which is also one of the most famous scenic spots in Yinchuan.
The Great Mosque was built during the Ming Dynasty, and what we see now is the Great Mosque rebuilt in 1981. And it was not where the temple was located at that time.
There are many mosques in Yinchuan, but this mosque is the only mosque in Yinchuan that tourists can enter and visit.
This temple has a very strong Islamic style, and the environment inside the temple is very good. In winter, the leaves are all withered. If it is summer, the vibrant scene may look better.
Tickets for the Great Mosque are not expensive, 10 yuan. Because we are not very interested in the temple itself, it is estimated that we will come out after staying in the mosque for about an hour. Next, I went to Yuhuang Pavilion, which is also a very historical scenic spot.
Jade Emperor Pavilion
Yuhuang Pavilion is actually located in Xingqing District, Yinchuan, and it is also a very historical attraction. The Yuhuang Pavilion was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, and its name at that time was Yinchuan Drum Tower. Unfortunately, in 1739, a major earthquake occurred in Ningxia, and the Yinchuan Drum Tower disappeared.
During the reign of Qianlong, the Yinchuan Drum Tower was rebuilt and renamed Yuhuang Pavilion. The Yuhuang Pavilion is very large, 22 meters high, and it can be regarded as a local landmark.
Note that attractions are closed on Mondays (like all museums in the country). If you avoid Monday, you can visit here for free.
I heard that after climbing the city tower, you can see the local Yellow River and Helan Mountain. Unfortunately, we went late on the first day and the city gate was closed, so we only took some photos outside.
After leaving Yuhuang Pavilion, we drove to People's Square in Jinfeng District. This People's Square is about 10 kilometers away from Yuhuang Pavilion. The best night view of Yinchuan is here. There is no fountain here during the Spring Festival, which is a bit regrettable.
Axis of China and Afghanistan
The landscape road here is very long, about 2100 meters, 58 meters wide, looks very atmospheric. There are three landscape areas along the whole road, and the night view is particularly beautiful. During the Spring Festival, many people come here to take pictures.
It is estimated that compared with the previous Spring Festival, there are still many fewer people.
I took a few photos from the axis of China-Arabia and came back. Even if the stay is not long, it is still a worthwhile trip.
Dinner was eaten near the Yuhuang Pavilion. The finger cakes I chose were simple but delicious.
There are many hotels near Yinchuan, and we didn't find a hotel until evening. Because of the epidemic, the price of the hotel is not expensive.
The next morning, I went to eat Aye haggis, which is said to be a well-known local restaurant. A local friend told me that a bowl cost 10 yuan a long time ago, but now it costs 35 yuan. The price is really high.
After dinner, we went to Zhenbeibao Western Studios. Although it is winter, the scenery is actually similar to spring and summer. Because there are few green plants here, it is very empty, even in summer.
Many movies have been filmed in the studio, especially the most famous "A Chinese Journey to the West" has also been filmed here. The whole scenic spot is divided into three areas, Mingcheng, Qingcheng and Old Yinchuan.
The old Yinchuan street scene is very beautiful, and it is not the same as what we saw in Yinchuan County. It is said that the scenes here are all restored 1:1, which is definitely a big deal.
After coming out of Old Yinchuan, we went to Mingcheng. There is a scene here in "Red Sorghum", and this moon gate is the scene in "A Chinese Journey to the West".
I have never liked to watch "A Chinese Journey to the West", but now it has become popular again, and many people often revisit this classic.
Leave Mingcheng, then go to Qingcheng. The environment is obviously different. In Qingcheng, I feel that the use of color is more bold.
In the exhibition hall, I saw a super beautiful furniture, which is a flower carving technique. It is estimated that this leaf is not an antique.
I once saw someone ask if Zhenbeibao Western Studios is worth visiting. Although it is a man-made landscape, it is also worth visiting. Personally, I think it's very advanced here.
shuidonggou
I didn't know this attraction until I came to Yinchuan. This is in Lingwu City, but it is closer to the downtown area of Yinchuan. The biggest thing to watch here is that up to now, there is still a very complete military defense system inside. Although I don't know much about the military, but seeing a lot of defensive buildings, I can understand the fighting thoughts of the ancients.
I don’t think it’s very meaningful to go to the Shuidonggou Museum. There are various picture introductions inside, and there are very few real collections. Perhaps it was because this place was not originally a place to live, but existed as a military base.
After leaving the museum, we saw an imitation of the original appearance of the ruins. Because it was an imitation, we felt that it was quite ordinary. Camels and sheep were also seen here.
Generally speaking, it is still worthwhile for Yinchuan. However, there are relatively few scenic spots open here during the Spring Festival, and the key scenic spots are only museums, Shuidonggou Village and the like. There are some shops Ye Mei open. The ticket is 60 yuan, which is not expensive. The locals said that it would be better to come here to play during the peak season.
Ningxia Sichuan Customs Culture Park
In the afternoon, I went to the Sichuan Customs Cultural Park. The various scenic spots in Ningxia are relatively far away, so it is recommended to rent a car and drive by yourself. The Sichuan Custom Culture Park is actually a scenic spot built to promote Hui culture. The scenic spot looks very holy, and the large buildings are all white.
When you arrive at the Cultural Park, you must go in and take a stroll. The feature of the scenic spot lies in the buildings inside. The golden etiquette ceremony looks particularly "rich", which is a very typical Islamic style. Friends who were traveling with me said that seeing this was like entering the Queen Mother's palace. In fact, it is almost the same, and it looks particularly magnificent anyway.
When we went, because there were not many places to visit during the Spring Festival, they were temporary museums and halls. In fact, you should wait until spring to visit, when there are more open areas.
