This is the last tour in 2018, only three days, where to go? We chose Yuanmou, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, to see the strange earth forests and soil bumps created by nature; to see the colorful Dongchuan red land known as the overturned palette. Although they are all places with the word "earth", there are colors we like, where we can walk into nature, where we can smell the fragrance of soil, and where we can hear the fragrance of birds and flowers. Moreover, December happens to be the off-season for visiting these two spots. That's it.

I found an itinerary on the Internet, chartered a car, and traveled across two scenic spots in three days. Although the journey was longer and more difficult, the advantage was that the time was flexible.

schedule:

Day 1: Kunming - Wumao Earth Forest - Langba Earth Forest

Day 2: Langba Soil Forest——Dongchuan Red Land

Day 3: Dongchuan Red Land - Kunming - Guangzhou

At 8:30 in the morning, the car came to the hotel to pick us up, and started the three-day free travel with "soil" as the destination. The first destination - Yuanmou Earth Forest.

The Magical Yuanmou Earth Forest

Yuanmou earth forest is a wonderful natural wonder in China and even in the world. It is known as the first earth forest wonder in the world. It is said that it has a history of 1.5 million years ago. Soil forests are formed over tens of millions of years under the action of external forces in nature (mainly water flow). Soil forest is a special form of lost landform, a strange natural geographical phenomenon, which is formed by comprehensive factors such as topographic structure, composition material, tectonic movement, hydrology climate, soil mass force and hydrodynamic force.

Yuanmou soil forest mainly refers to the Wumao soil forest, Langbapu soil forest and Banguo soil forest in Yuanmou County. We only went to Wumao Earth Forest and Langbapu Earth Forest on this trip. The reason why it is called the soil forest is because these soil pillars grow like trees.

Wumao Earth Forest, also known as Yuanmou Earth Forest, is located in Luoxing Village, Wumao Township, Yuanmou County, 32 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a must-see place. It took more than two hours to drive from the hotel where we stayed in Kunming to Tulin. When we arrived at the gate of Tulin, it was nearly 11 o'clock. We decided to go in and take pictures first, and then have lunch after we came out. Take a 10 yuan battery car to the highest point of the outer ring road of the earth forest. I plan to overlook the earth forest from several viewing platforms on the high ground, and then enter the inner ring road to feel the earth forest. Plan for an hour and a half.

Walking around the outer ring road, you can overlook or look at the tall and straight "soil pillars" with different shapes. Each "soil pillar" has a unique shape, forming a spectacle of earth forests with different styles. Under the winter sun, it shows a beautiful ocher red, row by row, some are like mighty soldiers ready to go, some are like bamboo shoots emerging from the ground with small tips, and some are like mushrooms with brown and black hats on their heads. Let us dazzle.

Walking into the inner ring road, you have to look up at these tall "soil pillars" and have a close contact with them, and you will find that these soil forests are mostly composed of sand and clay. Stepping into the soil forest, the various shapes seem to make people enter another magical world, like walking into a maze, and like walking into a "prime forest". Walking along a small path, I stumbled forward. I don't know how big this soil forest is, and how long it will take to get out? Touching these soil forests created by millions of years of history, admiring the soil pillars of various shapes, the deeper you go, the more beautiful the shape of the soil pillars. Some earth pillars are like cones and swords, pointing directly at the blue sky; The most stylish and beautiful. The mixed distribution of various forms of soil pillars makes the soil forest form a colorful and endlessly changing posture, which is breathtaking.

We were so attracted that we forgot the time and forgot to eat. This shot took nearly 3 hours! When we walked out of the soil forest, it was almost 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Fortunately, the farm restaurant 60 meters to the left outside the soil forest is still open.

After lunch, under the guidance of the local people, turn right out of the restaurant and walk along the dirt road until you reach the next scenic spot—Langbapu Earth Forest, although it is more than 10 kilometers shorter than the conventional route. But there are also more than 30 kilometers of travel. This is a winding, bumpy mountain road, dozing off, bumping through a lake and a soil forest, and arrived at Langbapu soil forest at nearly 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

Magical Langbapu Earth Forest

When I came to Langbapu Tulin District, I didn’t see many people in Nuo Da’s scenic spot. Two people packed a battery car and sat in the core area of the scenic spot, and almost covered the entire scenic spot. It took nearly 3 hours and only saw a pair of self-driving cars. photographed couple. Unexpectedly, everyone stayed in the same inn that night. This is a couple from Hubei, and they have been walking for a while while taking photos. An enviable retirement life.

It is still the way of the outer ring first and then the inner ring. First, walk through the five viewing platforms one by one, overlooking the magical world carved by the god of nature, and then go down to the inner ring to get in touch with the soil forest. In contrast, I prefer Langbapu Tulin.

Unlike the tall and straight Yuanmou soil forest, the Langbapu soil forest looks more like a growing soil forest. If the Yuanmou Earth Forest is an adult, the Langbapu Earth Forest is more like a place between a child and a teenager. The mounds of uneven heights and shapes are like bamboo shoots emerging from the ground, chasing each other upwards, layer by layer covered with a layer of glow in the setting sun, Showing all kinds of strange shapes, the three-dimensional sense is particularly strong, and the uncanny landscape is dizzying and full of magical charm.

The green hills around the Langbapu soil forest also add some elegance and poetry to this soil forest, and the fluffy grasses that lean on the soil forest and sway in the breeze add charm to the soil forest. The sky is getting bluer and the colors of the soil and forest are getting richer and richer. We are like walking in a painting, and we are reluctant to put down the camera in our hands.

On the viewing platform, I saw a group of independent soil forests that particularly attracted my attention. From a distance, it looked like a huge screen and a lonely castle, so out of this world. After walking into the inner ring road, we walked straight in that direction, which originally belonged to the No. 4 scenic spot. Looking up at this group of tall soil forests, we are so small. In the face of this group of huge soil forests, my ultra-wide-angle lens cannot cover them. I wanted to go around this group of soil forests, but I could only turn half a circle.

The sun was slowly setting, and the setting sun left light and shadow on the soil forest, and it also left my shadow. Those earth forests like mountains, screens and forests have gradually faded away their mysterious color. Before finishing the inner ring road, the sun had completely set, and the color of the soil forest changed from red to gray, and it actually turned into mounds of dirt. Exhausted, we climbed the last step, walked out of the exit of the inner ring line, called the shuttle bus to pick us up, and arrived at the gate of the scenic spot, only to see a big round moon hanging on the side of the mountain, bright and clean!

Langbapuhei Shaowu Photography House

This is a very successful trip to Yuanmou Earth Forest. The place to stay at night is about six kilometers away from the soil forest - Hei Shaowu Photography Home. Although simple, it is clean enough and the facilities are complete enough, except that the air conditioner and heating are not warm enough. Catering is provided, a la carte meals. That night, I ordered half a local chicken with boiled porcini mushrooms, and added a stir-fried green vegetable, which was large enough. There is enough meat, fresh bacteria, and delicious soup. It is a real self-raised free-range chicken.

December 3, 2018

Walking out of the door early in the morning, I found that the Hei Shaowu Photography House is located next to an earth forest in a water area (Hewei Reservoir). The morning sun brought warmth to the cold morning, and the slanted light passed through the gap of the hanging chair, leaving shadows behind. The soil forest not far away, the nearby sugarcane forest, and the lake are all bathed in the twilight of morning light.

Not far away, a loudspeaker in a certain village was playing a familiar old song (I forgot the name of the song). The bird on the tree in front of the house was chirping non-stop, and the owner’s pet dog barked wildly when he saw me. It's really in the country, I like it. The owner said that it is about 5 kilometers from his home to the Langbapu Earth Forest. There are earth forests and ethnic minority villages along the way. The beautiful scenery along the way is the favorite of film lovers and tourists. Due to time constraints, we were not able to experience the 5 kilometers well.

After breakfast, we left for the next point - Dongchuan Red Land. This is a long journey, more than 300 kilometers, and it takes at least 5 hours to drive.

Passing through the Maguohe Bridge, it is said to be the highest bridge in Yunnan Province. The bridge is 180 meters above the water, which is equivalent to a 60-story building. It is also the longest span among similar bridges in Yunnan Province, with a main span of 190 meters. Nowadays, the bridge construction technology in our country is getting higher and higher. Large bridges, super-large bridges, and suspension bridges are over the top of the mountains, turning the natural moat into a thoroughfare and bringing great convenience to people's travel. We stopped the car and looked at the bridge sideways, overlooking the fields, villages and rivers under the bridge, feeling very moved.

Passing through towns and villages, green farmland on both sides of the road, white greenhouses, pergola full of tomatoes, fruit trees full of green jujubes, vendors with yellow and green fruits on the side of the road, under the warm winter sun , let us feel the warmth of winter in the land of Yunnan and the breath of life of ordinary people.

Three trips to Dongchuan Red Land

This is the third time I have walked into Dongchuan Red Land, and I feel less and less each time. The original small village is now occupied by various homestays, which seem to be scattered everywhere without planning. The old man who used to be a must-shoot "The Old Man and the Dog" in Red Land gained a great reputation and built a "Red Land Star Hotel" near the check-in point in the village. If the planning is better and the homestays built are more distinctive, this piece of red land will bring eternal dividends to the people here.

Putting down our luggage, we rushed to the most beautiful and representative scenic spot "Luoxiagou" in Dongchuan Red Land to take pictures. Before sunset is the best time to take pictures. Along the way, we saw red and green idyllic farmland and horse-drawn plows, so we stopped to take pictures.

When I came to Luoxiagou, I haven’t seen it for a few years. I found that there have been great changes here: In order to meet the needs of tourists to enjoy the scenery, several viewing platforms have been built here, and the road to Luoxiagou has also been paved with stone roads. . What remains unchanged is the depression that suddenly sank in the embrace of the mountains. Several white houses were built on the slightly raised land at the top of the depression, with circles of red and green and irregular intervals of yellow wheat stalks. The land stretches around these white houses, forming a unique landscape. Zooming in, I found haystacks after the autumn harvest and yellow wheat stalks being dried scattered in the irregular red fields, and the green fields stretched not far away, forming a strong contrast with the red land, which is very beautiful! This has become a favorite of photographers.

Go back to Luosi Bay near the inn, and watch the sun slowly set from the distant mountains, and the sky is golden and brilliant! Several wind turbines on the mountains, the white bus and the crowd nearby all formed a wonderful prospect.

That night, we stayed at the "Red Land Love" homestay in Dongshan Red Land. Two-story building, a small yard, newly renovated, all facilities are new. Because of the off-season, we can choose all the rooms. We chose the largest room, which only costs 80 yuan. What a cabbage price!

Get up at 6:00, and depart for Tamakan to shoot the sunrise at 6:40. The temperature is very low, minus 6 degrees outside, and the body temperature is minus 4 degrees. Put on all the warm clothes you brought, and go out fully armed.

The ground was pitch black, and we crawled along the mountain road with seven bends and eight turns. It took about half an hour's drive to reach the top of the mountain, and the altitude rose to 2630 meters. The wild wind was howling outside the car, and I couldn't stand at all, let alone shoot with a tripod.

The eastern sky has turned red, but a black cloud is pressing tightly on the red sky, which makes me not full of hope for today's sunrise. Not wanting to give up easily, I sat in the car and waited, listening to the howling of the wind. While waiting, the sky slowly brightened. Looking around, I found several large windmills standing upright. No wonder the wind here is so strong. It turns out that this is the place with the strongest wind! I was thinking in my heart, is there hunting wind blowing on this mountain all year round? It's not suitable for taking pictures here.

Damakan Village is located on the mountainside. If the weather is not so cold and the wind is not so strong, the sun will shine on the village after sunrise, and the smoke from the kitchen in the morning will be a rare rural scene.

I took a few photos against the cold wind, and immediately went down the mountain to the next photography spot - Splendid Garden. This piece of scenery lives up to its name, red land, green fields, mixed with small yellow potato flowers, it is indeed beautiful.

Although the colors in this season are not so rich, mainly red, through a long lens, I found that someone is working in the field, a carriage is parked there, piles of golden crops seem to be piled up in the field in an orderly manner, and two peasant women are putting them Get into the wagon. What crop are they harvesting? Guess it might be rapeseed. A strip-shaped field that has been plowed into several thin striped roads, separated by two ridges where crops are stacked, forming a beautiful geometric figure. Wonderful!

Back to the inn, had breakfast, and walked to the village. The location of the inn is Luosi Bay, and there is a large open space in front of it. The owner of the inn told me that next year he will rent out this piece of land, allowing guests staying in his inn to view the scenery for free, while others will be charged. Maybe it's early in the morning, no one is there, a dilapidated thatched hut and a dilapidated cart, but it has become a blockbuster.

In addition to the red land, there are occasional scenes of rural life. On the open space in front of a one-story house, a group of old couples were stacking straw. The two of them stood up and down on a high stack of straw, and were struggling to stack the straw from bottom to top. An obedient mule dragged the board and stood there, waiting for the master to give orders. This scene under the blue sky made me very emotional. In today’s rural areas, only the old generation is left in the fields to protect the homes of generations. The young people have all gone to the city to work. They don’t want to repeat their parents. day.

There are still murals with a strong rural taste on the walls and house walls in the village. The small tile-roofed houses are in stark contrast to the small buildings built later. The old people and children sitting in front of the house, the corn cobs drying, the dried vegetables drying, as well as the baskets and farm tools, all tell us about the past here.

On the open field beside the village, I waited for the wandering sunlight to shine on the field. It's been a long time since I saw such swimming clouds. As the clouds move, the sunlight seems to move too, and the fields are cloudy and sunny for a while. I waited patiently, aiming at the scene I liked, just waiting for the light to shine on it, and the light at that moment was enough to satisfy my heart.

The "S"-shaped road leading into and out of the village caught my eye. It was shiny white in the sun, but in contrast, the surrounding farmland seemed dull. Occasionally a car drives on it, bringing life to the road.

It is time to say goodbye to Dongchuan Red Land. This scenic spot belongs to Kunming and is the closest to Kunming. Because of this special color, more and more people are attracted to come here, either for photography or vacation. I hope it will not be over-developed so that it can maintain its unique charm forever.
