After getting off the plane, we took the 7-passenger business car booked in advance on "eHi.com". This car - Yun A5GX72 silver Maxus G10, has been with us for 15 days since then.
The entire trip was steered by the two gentlemen between us. The car follows the goal in my heart. I have to say that this way of travel is very free, comfortable and convenient, especially suitable for us who are 60 years old on average.
Arrived at Xingyi Wanfeng Forest in Qianxinan, Guizhou at 6:00 p.m. on the same day
In the early morning of the next day, the light rain sometimes slows down and sometimes rushes, and Wanfenglin in the haze of mist and rain opens its heart without hesitation, allowing us tourists who have come from afar to take a deep breath and clear their lungs. We live in the stockade on the right side of the picture, the Qifeng Inn in Jingzhongjing.
In the cloud-shrouded Ten Thousand Peaks Forest, the stars are faintly visible.
Wanfenglin is a typical karst landform, composed of more than 20,000 peaks, hence the name - Wanfenglin. Scattered small hills stand one after another, Buyi Xiaozhai, idyllic scenery.
Bagua Tian full of charm
After Xu Xiake, a great traveler in the Ming Dynasty, came to Xingyi Wanfeng Forest, he left a poem of exclamation and praise: "there are so many famous mountains in the world, only here is the peak forest"! Tickets for Wanfenglin are 60 yuan in the off-season, 70 yuan in the peak season, and free for those over 60 years old. The scenic spot car is 50 yuan.
When you arrive in Guizhou, you must eat fish in sour soup. The hot pot in Sichuan is spicy, while the hot pot in Guizhou is hot and sour. Wan Fenglin's fish in sour soup completely conquered us.
On the morning of March 18, we arrived at Pingba in Anshun.
The cherry blossom viewing was a temporary decision. I wanted to go to Luoping to see the rapeseed flowers. The boss of Wanfenglin told us that the rapeseed flowers in Luoping had expired. Let’s go to see the cherry blossoms in Pingba. It is said that the cherry blossoms bloom in March. Reason not to go.
The 26,000-acre cherry blossom base in Pingba is the largest cherry blossom garden we have seen so far.
There is no charge for the Cherry Blossom Farm, and it is open and flourishing. It is said that there are many people going to enjoy the flowers on Saturdays and Sundays. We arrived on Monday. It is rare that there are few people and the weather is still sunny. It has been cloudy and rainy since we came out on the 16th.
An inadvertent reminder during the stay in Pingba made new changes to our travel plan. Pingba is only a few kilometers away from Zhijin County, and it takes more than an hour to drive there. Zhijin Cave was originally used when we went to Southeast Guizhou in the second half of the year planned, but not to be missed at this time.
Arrived in Bijie City, Guizhou Province on March 18 - Zhijin Cave
Welcoming Hall of Zhijin Cave—the sun and the moon shine together
Arriving at the Zhijin Cave at about 1:00 p.m., the first feeling when entering the cave is that it is big and wide. After walking down a dozen steps, I suddenly looked back and found two sky caves, one on the left and one on the right, hanging above the huge karst cave, as if The two beams of golden light from the sky echo each other at a distance, and they are integrated with the water vapor permeating the cave, highlighting the wonderful artistic conception of the sun and the moon shining together.
Giant mural stones - the beauty of mountains and rivers
A huge karst landscape in the cave is nearly 100 meters high and more than 200 meters long. It is composed of many stone pillars, stalagmites, stone curtains and stalactites. It looks like a rough sculpture and a beautiful picture of mountains and rivers. The momentum is extraordinary.
The two eucalyptus trees in the front are dripping into a plate, and the two sisters in the back are talking. Sister Yushu is a pine-shaped stalagmite in Zhijin Cave, which is as white as jade when viewed closely.
Strange waterfall-shaped stone mantle landscape - dragon and tiger fighting
Tasong-shaped stalagmites-the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are deeply affectionate, and it looks like the daughter-in-law is hugging the baby to beat the back of the mother-in-law, and the image is lifelike.
Tallinn Palace - like a magnificent underground palace
Zhijin Cave - Silver Rain Palace
The Silver Rain Tree in the Silver Rain Palace is a rare flower-shaped transparent crystal, which rises 17 meters into the sky from a white jade-like tray, standing tall and graceful. Years of deposition make the drip trays overlap, forming various columnar stalagmites and stalagmites with strange shapes. This is the most beautiful tasong-shaped stalagmite discovered in the world so far.
Tower stalagmites - the jewel in the palm
Weaving Gold Cave - Overlord Helmet
Overlord Helmet, 14 meters high, is golden, like the helmet of the ancient Chu Overlord. According to records, this huge composite stalagmite is composed of cap stalagmites in the lower part and slender rod-shaped stalagmites in the upper part. The formation of such a shape shows that the early dripping water contains rich substances, mostly in a linear downward flow, and the deposition speed is fast. The later dripping water contains less substances. , dispersion, and a deposition process in which the drop rate slows down.
The overlord's helmet standing in front of a pool of water, the clear reflection fully reveals the deep and dreamlike beauty.
Exit of Zhijin Cave——Leizi Cave
When we are on the scene, it seems to bring us back to the ancient time tunnel. In this karst cave full of strange stones, there are lifelike sisters Yushu, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law who love each other; The geological wonders of the cave, the static beauty of various stalactite rocks are formed by the accumulation or penetration of weak water droplets that have flowed for more than 200 million years. It is really an exquisite underground art palace.
When you return from Huangshan, you don’t look at the mountain, and there is no cave outside the Zhijin Cave. This unplanned itinerary really lived up to what we saw.
Tickets for Zhijin Cave are 110 yuan in peak season, 100 yuan in off-season, and 40 yuan for a round-trip tour bus in the scenic spot. Tickets are free for those over 60 years old, but the tour fare is not exempt. The whole tour takes more than 2 hours.
For this Yunnan-Guizhou route planning and itinerary strategy, we have abandoned Xishuangbanna and other popular attractions, and made Guizhou Qinglong 24 Turns (Dian-Guizhou Highway), Stilwell Highway (Burma-Burma Highway), Songshan Battle Site, Nanyang Machine Workers Memorial Hall, and National War Tomb Gardens are included in this itinerary. The idea is very simple, if you go to Yunnan and Guizhou, you must go to the front of the Anti-Japanese War. This idea was put forward by my wife, and everyone responded completely.
When I arrived at the scenic spot at 8 am on March 19, the entire scenic spot was empty except for the ticket collectors. We were the first group of people, and only a few people came in until we left. It can be seen that this is not a place for ordinary tourists to check in. But it has a thick history and the memory of the war. Tickets are free for those over 60 years old in the scenic spot.
Qinglong County, Guizhou——24 Road Turns (Dian-Guizhou Highway)
According to data, during World War II, after the international aid supplies to China arrived in Kunming via the Yunnan-Burma Highway, they had to go through the Yunnan-Guizhou Line with 24 turns before being sent to the front line and Chongqing. Road 24 became the main traffic artery in the China-Myanmar-India War Zone.
The straight-line distance from the foot of the mountain to the top of the 24th Road is about 350 meters, and the vertical height is about 260 meters. It is built in an "S" shape on the slope with an inclination of about 60 degrees, winding and circling, and the whole journey is about 4 kilometers.
Standing on the viewing platform, the foggy 24-turn snake is like a huge long dragon winding up the rugged mountain road. The quiet mountain road in front of you is empty of vehicles and pedestrians. However, in the Anti-Japanese War that year, it and The Burma Road is also the busiest transportation route for aid materials to China.
Our car originally wanted to try to take this unusual road, but it is a pity that the relevant departments only allow people to pass, and the car is left behind. The total length is 4 kilometers and the round trip is 8 kilometers before returning to pick up the car. We had to give up crossing this famous anti-Japanese road.
At this point, we will bid farewell to Guizhou and go to Honghe, Yunnan to see the Hani Rice Terraces.
On the fourth day of the trip on March 19th, we arrived at Yuanyang County, Hani Yi Nationality at 7:20 pm. The food and accommodation here are average, but the terraced fields are beautiful.
Terraces in the morning light
sand painting
The terraced fields are built in accordance with the shape and well arranged
Pleasing landscape paintings
Layers of terraced fields are built along the mountain, and the soft and beautiful curves can be seen at a glance. During the two days of staying in Hani, the terraces are spectacular and the visual enjoyment is unparalleled. This is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Hani people for generations. Like a pair of real earth art!
Tickets for Yuanyang Terraced Fields Scenic Area are 70 yuan, and 35 yuan for those over 60 years old.
At 2:00 p.m. on March 22, we arrived at Wanding, Ruili, Yunnan—Nanyang Overseas Chinese Mechanical Workers Returning to Anti-Japanese Memorial Hall.
Leader of Overseas Chinese in Nanyang - Tan Kah Kee
After the July 7th Incident in 1937, the Anti-Japanese War broke out in an all-round way. Many important coastal ports in China were captured, and international military aid transportation was on the verge of severance. The "Nanyang Overseas Chinese Relief Association for Motherland Refugees" headed by patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee issued a call for the motherland. Beginning in February 1939, 3,200 Nanyang Machine Workers returned to China from Vietnam and Burma in nine batches. Driven nearly one-third of the military vehicles on the Burma Road, and fought side by side with about 6,000 mechanics in China.
women do not let men
On the extremely difficult Burma Road, the mechanics endured unprecedented war hardships such as enemy plane bombing, epidemic disease, and overturned vehicles. On this 1,146-kilometer Burma Road, 500,000 tons of domestic and foreign materials were transported for the anti-Japanese war.
Machinists’ oath: Yu Jin, with sincerity, obeys the discipline of the country and supports the interests of the nation...One-third of the 3,200 Nanyang mechanic workers are buried on the lifeline of the Anti-Japanese War on the Burma Road.
This history of Nanyang Machine Works has only been heard, but when the body and mind are integrated into the memorial hall, witnessing their face-to-face suicide notes and listening to their stories, it is enough to make people cry and remember them for a lifetime. They are children and heroes!
Leaving the Nanyang Mechanics Memorial Hall, we began to look for the most important part of this itinerary - the Burma Road. The car stopped and went and searched for several times but failed to point us in the right direction. Finally, after a restaurant owner gave us directions, we finally found the Burma Road on Huandong Road, Wanding Town, Ruili City.
This intersection, now known as the "Wanding Bianguan Cultural Park", is the Yunnan-Burma Highway, which was famous during the Anti-Japanese War. In recognition of General Stilwell's contribution to China's War of Resistance, it was named Stilwell Highway.
The Yunnan-Burma Highway was built from November 1937 to August 1938. When the road was built, people of all ethnic groups in dozens of counties camped for thousands of miles with their own rations and luggage to fight against Japan. There is a country, there is a family, this simple concept is firmly rooted in the hearts of every ordinary person in the road construction army. According to statistics, more than 3,000 people died of blasting, falling off cliffs, falling into rivers, landslides and malaria among the 200,000 road construction army. The people in front fell and the people behind followed. It took only 8 months , the road was built and opened to traffic.
At that time, after the feat of road construction was reported in detail by the international media, many international friends praised it as "a road line carved with fingers".
The Yunnan-Myanmar Highway at the foot of Songshan-Tanshi Road, this section of the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway is in Baoshan, and after restoration, it is the most complete section so far.
Tanshi pavement is made of irregular stones. These stones are made by splitting the boulders, rough chiseling, laying on the sand cushion and rolling. Back then, the 200,000 troops who split the mountain and opened the road used extremely simple tools, and completed the Tanshi road forged with blood and sweat with their hands and faith.
We have stood on this road for a long time, looking at the road extending to the distance, and we are full of respect for this epic road built by the flesh and blood of the predecessors in the War of Resistance!
It was nearly dusk when we arrived at Songshan on March 22. At this time, there was no one in the direction of the Songshan Battle Site. I am afraid that it is impossible to enter the huge Songshan without a guide. While hesitating, there was a young woman in front of us slowly walking towards us. When she knew what we were coming for, she readily agreed to take us up the mountain, haha! We are so lucky, it turns out that she is from Songshan, and she is also a professional commentator of this period of history - Xiao Yu.
This big tree suffered great hardships during the Battle of Songshan. The big tree had withstood the bombing of tens of thousands of shells. After the battle, 46 warheads and shrapnel were taken out from the trunk. After the Battle of Songshan, it survived tenaciously. The crater left by the tree trunk is the imprint of that tragic history.
From the viewing platform, you can vaguely see the Burma Road at the foot of Songshan Mountain, and the opposite is the Huitong Bridge across the Nujiang River.
According to Xiaoyu, the commentator of the Songshan site: "The Battle of Songshan was very tragic. When the Japanese occupied Songshan, they hollowed out the ground below the main peak. To the main bunker on the mountain. For three months, our army’s planes and cannons have been unable to attack for a long time, but if the Battle of Songshan cannot be won, the throat of the Burma Road will not be opened, and a large amount of aid materials will not be able to be supplied to various battlefields through the Burma Road. Crazy If the Japanese army crossed the Nu River and expanded the battlefield to Kunming and Chongqing, no one would know the consequences..."
In the end, a special method was used to outsmart Songshan: the tunnel blasting method, that is, dig a tunnel at the bottom of the mountain to the bottom of the Japanese fortress, and blow it up with explosives. On the morning of August 20, 1944, the moment the engineers pressed the button, the Japanese military fortifications and the main bunker collapsed amid the deafening sound of explosions, and the main peak of Songshan Mountain was completely recovered after 96 days of bloody fighting.
The Battle of Songshan lasted 3 months and 3 days, from June 4, 1944 to September 7, 1944. There were a total of more than 10 major battles and hundreds of minor battles. The Chinese army wiped out more than 1,260 Japanese soldiers, but it also paid a heavy price. 7,675 officers and soldiers were killed or injured. It was a famous battle that kicked off the strategic counterattack against Japan.
This is the only cemetery left after the Battle of Songshan in 1944. There is only a list of 672 soldiers who died in battle. Over the past 70 years, the tombstones have been weathered. At most, the names of more than 20 martyrs who died in battle can only be seen clearly. The remains of more than 7,000 expeditionary troops are scattered all over the Songshan battlefield. Every inch of the land, no tombs, no inscriptions, is integrated with this mountain range where the flames of war blend, so Songshan is: a famous battlefield, an unsung hero!
The horse feeding water in those days is now the release pond. In the setting sun, it is unimaginable that the horse feeding pond on the battlefield filled with gunpowder smoke is so quiet and beautiful today...
The Battle of Songshan was conquered in 96 days, with 96 steps, each step symbolizing the long and cruel days of attacking Songshan.
With heavy steps, after climbing the 96th step, the solemn and solemn expeditionary army sculpture group came into view. At that moment, my heart was shocked and tears flowed down my cheeks.
The sculpture group of the Chinese Expeditionary Army is located a few hundred meters south of the main peak of Songshan, the main battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War in western Yunnan, echoing the site of the Songshan Anti-Japanese Battlefield.
September 3, 2013 is the World Anti-Fascist War Victory Day. Mr. Li Chunhua, creator of the Chinese Expeditionary Army Sculpture Group, completed all the sculptures on this day. It showed the world the heroic posture of the Chinese army on the main battlefield in the East in World War II. Also comforted countless heroic spirits!
Chinese Expeditionary Army - Li Mi in the General's Phalanx, Taiping Street, Tengchong County, Yunnan Province, served as Lieutenant General of the National Revolutionary Army and Deputy Commander of the Eighth Army at the time of the Western Yunnan Counterattack.
Chinese Expeditionary Force - Veteran Phalanx
Chinese Expeditionary Force—Female Soldiers Phalanx
Chinese Expeditionary Army - Baby Soldier Phalanx
Chinese Expeditionary Force - Warhorse Phalanx
When night fell, we left the Songshan Battlefield Site and the Chinese Expeditionary Army Sculpture Group. During the one-week trip, everyone’s hearts were very heavy. They were moved and shocked by the heroic and unyielding spirit of Nanyang Machine Workers, the people of Yunnan and Guizhou, and the Chinese Expeditionary Force during the Anti-Japanese War.
After 9:00 p.m. on March 22, arrive at the next destination - Tengchong
Tengchong Repulse Bay Scenic Hotel, which is famous for its reputation, is well-deserved. Standing on the Observation Deck of Repulse Bay, the fog in the morning light is like a fairyland. Who would have thought that the peaceful small town at this time was full of wars and devastation 75 years ago.
In Tengchong, we are going to the long-awaited National War Cemetery, as well as the Volcanic Geological Park and Atami Park.
On the morning of March 23, I came to the National Geological Park Tengchong Geothermal Volcano Scenic Area with a feeling of apprehension. Why are you worried? It was because the sky was cloudy and foggy that day, and the hot air balloon did not sell tickets for safety reasons.
I always feel a little regretful to miss the hot air balloon in Tengchong. Thanks to the owner of Repulse Bay for suggesting us to try our luck.
Haha, in this attempt, luck was really good, the six of them happened to be in a basket. It took just over a minute to load the basket, ignite the fire, and lift off the hot air balloon. When looking up at the hot air balloon from the ground and overlooking the Volcanic Geopark from the air, it takes less than ten minutes to ascend and descend. During one ascension and one descent, you can feel the size of the world and the smallness of people and scenery.
The crater seen from the air is the most regular truncated conical crater in the world. Behind it are seven volcanoes, five of which are in a straight line. The fog was very heavy that day. If it is sunny, several craters can basically see clearly.
Volcanic rock left after a volcanic eruption. Tickets for the Volcano Geopark are 35 yuan, 17.5 yuan for those over 60 years old, and 280 yuan per person for hot air balloons.
Baoshan Tengchong—West Yunnan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall (National Cemetery)
At noon on March 23, Warlords Cemetery
On August 2, 1944, the Chinese Expeditionary Force launched a general attack on Tengchong. By September 14, 1944, after more than a month of bloody fighting, Tengchong was completely recovered. Among them, the Japanese occupied Tengchong for more than two years, and built more than 30 key fortresses in the city. Strong fortress. Due to the fierce fighting, the expeditionary force suffered more than 18,000 casualties, and this battle was called "Scorched Earth Tengchong".
The garden is lush, quiet and solemn, and there is a huge alarm bell hanging high to warn future generations. There is a plaque written by everyone: the Martyrs' Shrine, the Heyue Heroes, the Green Blood for a Thousand Years, and the Righteousness of Heaven and Earth, to comfort the souls of heroes!
In the battle of Tengchong, Songshan, and Longling in the anti-Japanese war in western Yunnan, the final victory of the war was achieved at the heavy price of sacrificing 100,000 Chinese expeditionary forces and 200,000 civilian casualties. Reminiscing about the eternally sleeping heroic spirit, thank you!
The Allied Veterans Memorial, they are as worthy of our commemoration as all the expeditionary forces who died.
Joseph Stilwell, who joined hands with the Chinese people in the War of Resistance against Japan, was praised by Premier Zhou as the best fighter.
The memorial hall concludes with the display of this piece - "Songshan Arsenal Key", to warn future generations not to forget the tragic history of the motherland and the countless heroes. Always remember.
Tengchong, a small border town in the Northwest of China, has been recorded in the annals of history for the sufferings it suffered during World War II, as well as the national spirit of the expeditionary army and the people who would rather die than surrender. There was an endless stream of people who came to pay their respects at the National Cemetery that day.
Baoshan Tengchong - Heshun Ancient Town
At 5:00 pm on March 23, we arrived at Heshun Ancient Town.
Heshun Town is located 4 kilometers southwest of Tengchong County. It was named "Yangwendun" in ancient times. Because a small river flows around the village, it was renamed "Heshun". Heshun Town, with a population of more than 6,000, and more than 12,000 Heshun people living overseas, is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in Yunnan. The ticket for Heshun is 80 yuan. If you stay in the inn, you can get free of charge. If you want to evade the fare, you can only enter the town later, but you can only see the night view.
Such a beautiful signboard information wall, with a taste of LOGO, the curve extends tens of meters, full of artistic sense.
The famous Heshun Library is one of the largest rural libraries in China.
Wanlouzi is an exquisite ancient dwelling. Because the building is built along the curve of the laneway, Heshun people vividly call it Wanlouzi. The Folk House Museum was not open that day. It is said that the Wanlouzi folk house is a complex of courtyard combined buildings with three entrances, three bedrooms and one screen wall. They are all carefully crafted buildings. According to Xiao Wang of the Repulse Bay Hotel: The walls of the residential houses are made of volcanic rock, hammered and chiseled, and they are extremely strong.
Haha, beyond reach. Gambling on stones is gambling on luck. A seemingly ordinary stone may be worth nothing if you are lucky. People come and go on the street, but no one is eager to try.
Encountered a little squirrel on the way
Atami Park kitten
Baoshan Tengchong Resea Scenic Area at 9 am on March 24
The inside of the pot is tumbling and boiling, the outside of the pot is steaming, and the water temperature reaches 96.6°C. The large drawer on the right side is used for steaming eggs. A cage of 4 raw eggs costs 10 yuan. Hehe, we set the price at 8 yuan. It is sold everywhere outside the scenic area. Atami tickets are 50 yuan, 25 yuan for those over 60 years old.
There is a hot spring called sulfur spring due to a special geographical phenomenon. The sulfur soap made of sulfur is sold in the scenic area. It has a bactericidal effect and has certain preventive and auxiliary therapeutic effects on some skin diseases. It is said that the sulfur soap in Tengchong Atami is The best and purest.
At noon, we finished sightseeing in Atami, and when we went to Dali, we went to Baoshan Lujiang Dam service area to replenish food and water for a short rest, and departed for Dali at 2 o'clock. The first-class service area in the past few years of traveling, like it!
Arrive at Dali Ancient Town at 6:00 p.m. on March 24
The brightly lit Dali Everbright City
In Dali’s century-old Chinese coffee store, Yunnan’s arabic coffee is very famous. Don’t underestimate it. Even the famous Starbucks has Yunnan arabic coffee beans on the shelves. Try it before you buy it.
Dali's flower cake is very famous, and almost all tourists have to recite it back.
A restaurant in the night market, very humorous, the handsome owner plays with his mobile phone, and the handsome dog sits and welcomes the guests.
Super cute little tambourine girl.
Erhai Lake on March 25
Erhai Lake, the birthplace of a generation of dance artists.
When I visited Erhai Lake, the sky was not very clear, and I felt a little gray when I took pictures, but it still couldn't stop the good mood of the day.
In the quiet Erhai Lake, people live at a slow pace. This place is suitable for those who are a little bourgeoisie and a little romantic, drinking coffee or tasting Pu'er leisurely. There are also tourists from afar who compare it to poetry in their hearts and distant places.
I came to Lijiang on March 26 and went to the city first. I have to say how wise it is not to stay in the ancient city. The inn below is an inn outside the ancient city but very close to the ancient city - Sunshine Inn.
There is no exquisite decoration in the courtyard, but the potted flower stamens make the courtyard full of vitality. The upper and lower parts of the small courtyard are half for guests, and the other half are for the three generations of the owner. During the 3 days I lived in Lijiang, I felt like going home every day. And the inn is clean and tidy, and the price is much cheaper than in the ancient city. In September this year, when family members and friends drove into Tibet, they passed through Lijiang and stayed at the Sunshine Inn.
The noisy Old Town of Lijiang is a paradise for young people at night.
A quiet old story house
exquisite handicraft
Aqi Duzhima is the successor of the traditional hand-woven cloth of the Mosuo people, and the threads used in the weaving are also hemp threads grown by ourselves. (now pure cotton thread is also used), this original hand-woven cloth has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage, and it is also the earliest artistic creation of the Mosuo people.
Suspended high in the air are the famous tie-dye products. Although it has no gorgeous color, it adds a special charm to the simple alleys in the embellishment of lanterns.
Haha, that's what famous people say.
Salmon, one fish and three meals
There are many delicacies in Lijiang, among which cured pork ribs and whole fish feast, which is eaten with one fish and three meals, are worth recommending. Lijiang Ashou Mountain Black Goat Hot Pot is even more unusual. Ha ha! Ever since being instructed by Dumas, everything has to be fought for the body and the soul!
The roads, wide streets and narrow alleys in the ancient city are paved with light red breccia. The locals call it five-flower stone. It is very textured and comfortable to walk on. It seems that it will not be muddy in the rainy season and will not raise dust in the dry season. The pattern on the stone is natural. Elegant, it is said that this five-flower stone road has a history of more than 800 years.
Lijiang Ancient Town, also known as Dayan Town, is located in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, Southwest China. It is also known as the "Four Best Preserved Ancient Cities" along with Langzhong in Sichuan, Pingyao in Shanxi, and Shexian in Anhui, which are also the second batch of national historical and cultural cities.
Fortunately, I have been to the first three ancient cities, and I have been looking forward to the fourth ancient city, Lijiang. Maybe the expectations are too high. When you are in it, it seems that there is no more joy, too loud, too modern, too commercial. I think it may have something to do with age, not the scenery. Among the four ancient cities, the tranquility of Langzhong and the simplicity of Pingyao have a strong flavor of ancient cities.
Arrive at Shuhe Ancient Town at 3:00 pm on March 27
Shuhe Ancient Town, known as "Shaowu" in Naxi language, was formed because the Jubao Mountain behind the village is shaped like a peak piled up, and the village is named after the mountain. One of the earliest settlements, it is an important well-preserved market town on the ancient tea-horse road. There were no tickets for entering the ancient town that day.
The weather in Shuhe Ancient Town was a bit gloomy, but in the drizzle, it showed the peace and tranquility of the streets and alleys of the ancient town. The roadside shops are all open, without deliberately soliciting or introducing products, which is in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Lijiang and Dali.
During the nearly two weeks of traveling, my heart seems to have found a sense of belonging here. The gurgling stream, the quiet and quaint alleys, and the warm picture of people and scenery all make you want to stay here.
This is the Dongba Paper Workshop in Shuhe Ancient Town, and there is a similar paper workshop in Lijiang. Dongba paper is a kind of paper made by an ancient papermaking process. The material used is a kind of wood unique to Yunnan. The plant fiber is very rich, so Dongba paper has strong toughness. It is said that the paper used in Buddhist scriptures is Dongba paper. , There is a saying that it will not be corrupted for thousands of years.
When I saw Zhifang for the first time, I felt profound, mysterious and otherworldly. I liked Dongba paper lanterns in various shapes, especially the one on the table that looked like an open book, which was very beautiful.
Elegant and charming view of the town
There are three streams in Shuhe, namely Jiuding Stream in "Jiuding Longtan", Qinglong Stream and Liuli Stream in "Liuhe Longtan". From north to south, the three streams run through streets and alleys, and have their own poetic flavor of "little bridges and flowing water".
The water system of the entire ancient city is around the city, going in against the water and out along the water. The Jiuding River in the west is Longquan water, which is drinkable; the Liuli River in the east is water for washing vegetables and rice; the Qinglong River in the middle is used for washing clothes, etc. Vegetable and laundry. Take what you need and make the best use of each.
Haha, I don’t want to gamble on stones or buy emeralds, but buy some small objects in several ancient towns as souvenirs.
Lijiang - Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
For independent tourists, it is hard to find a ticket for the main mountain cableway in Lijiang that wants to go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. We have to grab tickets online at 7:00 a.m. on the same day. The group is not a problem, and the problem is solved by paying the money to the travel agency. Snow mountain tickets are 100 yuan, half price for those over 60 years old. Small cableway Yunshanping ticket: 120 yuan.
I was full of disappointment when I didn’t go to the cableway on the main peak, but this loss disappeared after a while. According to the owner of the inn, the view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is still more beautiful.
On the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain that day, there were dozens of couples taking wedding photos. The scenery here is very artistic, and each other is a witness of mountains and rivers.
Arrived in Kunming on the morning of March 30
Dianchi Lake is a paradise for seagulls. The red-headed gulls in Kunming, in order to escape the cold climate of Siberia, travel through Russia and the whole of China every winter, come to Kunming for the winter, and then return to Siberia collectively in spring, so seagulls can be seen from the end of November to March. Please listen well, our visit here is on March 30th, and watching seagulls soaring in the sea and sky is also a valuable extra enjoyment. Haha, red-billed gull.
Feeding the seagulls is so addictive that I still linger after 90 minutes.
Seagulls look for food in various poses and with different expressions in flight.
Standing by the Dianchi Lake, I remembered a song "Seagull" by Su Fengjuan when I was young. After 50 years, I still remember the lyrics and tune: ah, seagulls fly around and sing to their heart's content, ah, seagulls are so free and happy...
At 2:30 p.m. on March 30th, we arrived at Kunming International Airport, ending a 15-day journey of human history, rivers and mountains, and special food. Return to Beijing by plane from 16:45 to 20:05.
Conclusion:
Due to various reasons, the travel notes that have been put on hold for half a year have not yet been completed. On October 1, when I watched the celebration of the 70th birthday of the motherland from 1949 to 2019, I was moved spontaneously, just like the one sent by WeChat circle of friends on the National Day A paragraph of text: "Today's years are quiet and good, and it is in the lives and blood of countless martyrs and ancestors."
Therefore, for this trip that traces back history, I will pay tribute to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Republic by completing this travel note as a special way of commemoration!
