Yushu is located at the source of the Three Rivers in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the southwest of Qinghai Province, with an average altitude of about 4,000 meters.

Ghana Mani Stone Jingcheng, commonly known as Ghana Mani. It is located in Xinzhai Village, 3 kilometers away from Jiegu Town, the seat of Yushu Prefecture, at an altitude of more than 3,600 meters. Mani is the abbreviation of the Sanskrit Buddhist scripture "Six-Character Mantra", and the mani stone pile is made of mani stones engraved with the six-character mantra. The origin of the name "Mani Stone" comes from the second and third words in the six-character mantra. Tibetan Buddhism regards the six-character mantra as the root of Buddhist classics. The six-character mantra is also called "the six-character mantra".

The six characters represent the salvation of sentient beings in the six realms, the elimination of six kinds of troubles, the practice of six prajna practices, the acquisition of six kinds of Buddha bodies, and the generation of six kinds of wisdom and other extraordinary merits. Therefore, on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, many people come here to worship.

Princess Wencheng Temple

Looking back over the millennium, the friendship between the Tibetan and Chinese families is connected.

Princess Wencheng Temple, also known as Dari Tathagata Buddha Hall, is located in Bainagou, south of Jiegu Town, at an altitude of more than 3,700 meters. The Great Day Tathagata Buddha Hall has an area of more than 80 square meters and a height of 13 meters. It is built on the cliff. The Buddhist hall is exquisite, quiet and elegant. The main Buddha statue enshrined in the Buddhist hall is called "Jueerangba Nuozhai" in Tibetan, "Dari Tathagata" in Chinese, and "Vairocana" in Sanskrit. According to legend, this Buddha statue has the same blessing power as the Sakyamuni statue enshrined in the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. It has a history of more than 1,300 years.

This Buddhist hall is the most magnificent and precious historical and cultural relic left by Princess Wencheng when she entered Tibet in the 15th year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (641 AD). Portraits were made on the stone walls to show their nostalgia, and then temples were built. This temple has become a symbol of Tibetan-Han unity, and a Buddhist hall where believers pay homage. It is filled with incense and lasts for a long time.

Changu Temple is located in Changu Village, 4 kilometers south of Jiegu Town, the seat of Yushu Prefecture, with an altitude of more than 3,700 meters. The temple was built in the 12th century AD and belongs to the Zhigong Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The "Jiran Resort" was built in the Yushu area when it was first established. So far, there are still cultural relics and historic sites such as the "Jiran Red Pagoda" and the "Jiran Self-displaying White Pagoda". Later, it gradually declined due to sectarian disputes.

Gar Temple

Gaer Temple, the full name of Gaer Putizhou, is located in Baizha Township, 70 kilometers away from Xiangda Town, Nangqian County, with an altitude of 3700 meters. Legend has it that Master Padmasambhava practiced here to suppress demons more than 700 years ago. Around 1200 A.D., in accordance with the will of Juewa Jiuding Sanggong, the founder of the Zhigong Kagyu Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, the famous eminent monk Kardang Ba Qiudeng founded the Gaer Temple here.

There are Shengle Buddha Hall, Vajra Heart Buddha Hall, Dakini Buddha Hall and more than 1,000 small statues of Jiuding Sanggong in the temple.

Ga'er Temple has beautiful scenery, surrounded by abrupt peaks, lush forests, green and beautiful, and various rare birds and animals live in the mountains and forests. What is amazing is that blue sheep, Tibetan macaques and other animals often enter and leave the temple freely and live in harmony with people, which embodies the idea of great compassion and equality of life advocated by Buddhism.

There is a beautiful Tianchi near the temple, about 8000 square meters, about 30 meters deep. Tianchi is clear and transparent, the mountains and forests in the pool are reflected, and various migratory birds live freely by the pool. The beautiful scenery and the quiet Buddhist temple complement each other, like a fairyland, blending together is very special.

Although it takes a very long and steep journey to reach the Gaer Temple, after arriving, I found that it is simply a paradise. It is rare to see a piece of land with such a high vegetation coverage, and the breathing is much smoother in an instant!

When I looked up at the foot of the mountain and saw the temple on the mountain, I felt that it was really incredible, beyond my imagination.

Jiegu Town

Yushu, the land kissed by the sun. I will always remember your beauty, the enthusiasm of Tibetans, and the smiles of children.
