Zhengding Confucian Temple Dacheng Hall
Liang Sicheng recorded in "A Survey of Zhengding Ancient Architecture": "From the outside, it is surprising at first glance. The five main halls have such winged eaves and majestic brackets, which have never been seen elsewhere. There are five couplets on the floor of the hall. It is three rooms deep, but the inner column is moved one step outward at the front and back, so that the inner groove is enlarged, and the front and rear are as wide as the corridor. Four rafters are used on the inner column, and the beam frame is composed of simple humps and inclined columns. The four rafters There is also an inner forehead under the burden. Between the inner column and the eaves column, a double square is used to connect it, and it is built on the bracket. The arches extend outwards, and there is an intersecting Linggong and Shautou on the second jump. There is no ornate arch in the tween shop; there are only carved arches on the top of the column, and a Confucian column under it; the corner arch and the rear end of the corner beam are built. On a single angled beam; the architectural structure is so concise and rationalized, it is really rare.”
