The 816 Project Scenic Spot is located in Baitao Street, Fuling District, Chongqing City. As the first nuclear raw material production base deployed in a cave independently designed and constructed by New China, the top-secret code is "816". In 1966, the construction was approved by the Central Military Commission and Premier Zhou Enlai. The full name is "Atomic Energy Reactor and Chemical Reprocessing Project with Holes in Third-Line Construction". It is a typical representative of more than 1,100 projects in the "third-line construction" of New China. At that time, more than 60,000 construction troops were mobilized across the country to go to Baitao to start the 18-year project construction. The project has gone through three stages of urgent construction, postponed construction, and suspension of construction. The total excavation area is 104,000 square meters. The tunnel consists of 18 large-scale tunnels and more than 130 pilot tunnels, branch tunnels, tunnels and shafts. The main cavern is as high as 79 .6 meters. By 1984, 85% of the construction volume and about 60% of the installation volume were completed, with a total investment of 746 million yuan (the price of the year). Because of the complexity and arduousness of engineering design and construction, it is known by the world as "Three Gorges in the Cave, the Great Wall Underground", "Heshibi Buried Deep in the Mountain", and it has the characteristics of "Three Gods" who are magical, mysterious and sacred.

Its main functions are: receiving components and non-working blocks unloaded from the reactor, as well as storage and classification of non-working blocks. The 102 workshop is divided into two parts: the operating room and the pool. Each pool is equipped with water gates (a total of 9 units) for the pool to fill and drain in turn. There are 400 places for hanging buckets with rods in the whole pool for long-term storage of original parts and non-working blocks. The lower corridor sends it to Factory 818.

reactor pot bottom
Located on the third floor of the main reactor. There are many pipe corridors above the bottom of the pot, which is magnificent. The construction of the glass corridor allows tourists to have a better experience, strolling quietly at the bottom of the pot, overlooking the Yoyo nuclear light.
central control room
Located on the ninth floor of the reactor. There used to be a domestic advanced computer body here, which was the "heart" of the entire military cave and the central hub for coordinating the entire nuclear fuel manufacturing process.
