The water surface area of Yilong Lake is about 42 square kilometers, the lakeshore is 86 kilometers long, the average water depth is 3 meters, and the deepest is about 7 meters. Yilong Lake is one of the nine plateau lakes in Yunnan and the largest water area in Honghe Prefecture. Every year from the end of spring to the beginning of autumn, the water surface on the west side of Yilong Lake will be covered with pink, bright red and other colorful lotus flowers. From July 6th to September 1st is the traditional lotus festival. At that time, on Yilong Lake, people admire flowers, fish, taste lake food, and enjoy folk songs and dances.
Since ancient times, Huayaoyi has often sung a folk song on Yilong Lake. The melody fluctuates with the waves like sea vegetables in the lake, and it is long and long, so it is called "Haicai Tune".
