The ruins of the ancient Diezhou City are located in Rannao Village, Dianga Township, in the eastern suburb of Diebu County today. It is located on the platform on the north bank of the Bailong River, leaning against the top of Zhaga Dushan. The territory of today's Diebu County was Hechuan County during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. In the second year of Tang Gaozu Wude, Diezhou was established. Before the establishment of the state, it was called Jiaoshu City, and later it was called Diezhou City.

The city is about 1,000 meters long from east to west and 450 meters wide from north to south. The city wall is built according to the terrain. So far, the ruins of the ancient city still exist, and the holes and rammed earth layers on the ruins are clearly visible. In the ruins and in the rammed earth layer of the castle ruins, a large number of colored and plain pottery fragments, as well as ancient cultural relics such as pottery pots, stone tools, cloth tiles, Jomon bricks, stone axes, and tooth fossils, were found in many places. On a mountain ridge about 80 meters high in the northwest of the ancient city, there is an ancient beacon tower rammed with loess. The ancient city site was identified as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in 1993.

In addition, there are many ancient city ruins in Diebu County. In the south of Ji Aina Village, Dianga Township, 15 kilometers east of the county seat, there is a "Mamu City" built by Tuguhun during the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Western Wei Dynasty. And pottery pieces, including fine clay earless clay pots, fine clay double-eared red clay pots, etc.

In the Bugang Landslide in Yiwa Township, 10 kilometers west of the county seat, there is an ancient city site, which was built during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty when the ancient Diezhou City was moved to this place due to the war. Ancient tombs were excavated near the city. There are also the ruins of Jiamutang ancient city 1 km southwest of ancient Diezhou City, the ruins of ancient Fangzhou City by the Bailong River 35 kilometers east of the county, the ruins of Jiuruka ancient city in Dalagou, and the ruins of Luoda ancient city, all of which are from the Tang Dynasty and beyond. Built before the Tang Dynasty.
