The Ashoka Pagoda in Dai County, commonly known as the White Pagoda, is located in Yuanguo Temple, an ancient city in Dai County, facing Bianjing Tower. Ashoka Pagoda was built in the first year of Renshou in Sui Dynasty (AD 601). It was originally a wooden structure and called "Longxing". It was rebuilt in the first year of Tang Dazhong (AD 847) and changed "Longxing" to "Yuanguo". In the next few hundred years, it was abandoned and rebuilt several times, and it was rebuilt into a brick pagoda in the twelfth year of Yuan Zhiyuan (AD 1275), which has been preserved to this day.
The Ashoka Pagoda is built of bricks and is in the shape of a cone and Buddhist Tibetan style. The plane of the tower base is rectangular, 50 meters long from north to south, 30 meters from east to west, and 1.5 meters high. The tower is built in the center of the tower base. It is in the Xumizuo style with upturned lotus petals and heavy and astringent mixed belly and square astringency. Various flower ornaments, lotus petals and Indian "Dharani Sutra" are carved.
On the body of the pagoda, a curved ruler-shaped seat is placed, on which the brake lever is supported. The original brick phase wheel has thirteen floors, two of which have been destroyed. Beautiful in shape, vigorous and straight, with superb carving skills, it is a masterpiece of Tibetan-style pagodas in my country. In front of the north wall of the heart chamber on the third floor, there are two stone statues of Sakyamuni Buddha juxtaposed. On the Buddha seat, there is an inscription on the statue of Emperor Taizong's birthday in the second year of Zhenguan. On the border of the south gate, there are cloud patterns engraved in the Tang Dynasty, and there are inscriptions of tourists in the Song Dynasty on the surface.
