On the west peak, the ax splits the stone, which is a famous scenic spot of strange rocks in Huashan.

The ax splits the stone on the top of the peak, it is more than one zhang high and several zhang long, and it is split into three sections by the middle, just like an ax chopping. The bottom of the stone and the top of the peak form a hollow, which can only allow one person to crawl in. Going into the cave and lying on your back, you can see that the top is uneven, like the traces left by a woman after lying down, and the indentation of the abdominal breast is clearly discernible. There are many records of this strangeness in historical records. There is a cliff carving of "Splitting the Mountain to Save the Mother" on the stone.

Legend has it that Sanshengmu, the daughter of the Jade Emperor, got married privately because of her admiration for the beauty and talent of the scholar Liu Yanchang. Erlang God Yang Jian pressed the Sanshengmu under the boulder of Xifeng for violating the rules of heaven. The Three Virgins gave birth to a child under the stone, named Chenxiang. Chen Xiang grows up and is taught by the immortal master, holding the magic ax to split the boulder, and the mother and child are reunited.

There is a huge iron ax next to the current ax chopping stone, which was made by later generations to attach stories. There is a poem on the handle of the ax: "The treasured ax of the fairy family has five feet in seven feet. Give it to Chenxiang, and cut the mountain to save the mother." Many tourists take pictures here as souvenirs.
