Baichuantong was once one of the top ten bank accounts in China. It was founded in the 10th year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1860). It closed down in 1918. Caidong was Qu Yuanzhen, the owner of the Qujia Compound in Qixian County. Zhuang, who has accumulated rich capital in half a century of business, is known as one of the eight richest Shanxi merchants. Baichuantong is the hope that "Baichuantong will lead to the sea, and the wealth will flow in, and the water will come naturally, and the flow will never stop". It is a well-preserved storefront, and the old site has now been turned into the "Sanjin Dacaidong Furniture Museum". The museum sits west and faces east, and is divided into three courtyards. From the outside to the inside, the heights increase successively, implying the auspicious meaning of "climbing higher step by step". The museum gathers precious furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Through these high-end furniture, the audience can clearly understand how the Shanxi merchants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties prospered and how rich they were, and at the same time understand some of the development history of Chinese furniture. Now there are more than 70 furniture and treasure showrooms, with tens of thousands of collections, all kinds of rare furniture, all of which are priceless and rare furniture. They are precious materials for studying the life, daily life and cultural connotation of Shanxi merchants.
