Yunnan also has "Turkish Pamukkale", which is Baishuitai, located in Sanba Township, Shangri-La County, about 100 kilometers away from Shangri-La County. The white Huatai is exposed among the lush greenery, layer upon layer, like a piece of white terraced fields. According to legend, the gods of the Naxi people specially transformed such a terraced field in order to let people learn how to farm and plow the land. Later generations called it "the land left by the immortals".
Baishuitai is not only a place with beautiful scenery, but also the birthplace of the Dongba religion of the Naxi people. Every year on the eighth day of the second month of the lunar calendar, it is the Naxi people's annual "Walking to the White Water" activity. Tibetan, Naxi, Yi, Bai, Lisu and other ethnic groups from all over the world will gather here to perform sacrificial activities with singing, dancing and picnics. The gods pray for a good harvest in the coming year.
