Baitashan Park is located on the north bank of the Yellow River near the central district of Lanzhou City. The entrance is connected to the Zhongshan Bridge. It is an important scenic spot in Lanzhou City. Baita Mountain is dominated by the ancient White Pagoda on the top of the mountain, and there are many palace-style buildings in the mountains. Many trees are planted around the buildings. It is very good for mountaineering, exercise and photography. What's more, when you climb Baita Mountain, you can see the spectacular panorama of Lanzhou City, with a very wide field of vision. The best time to visit Baita Mountain is summer. The altitude of the top of the mountain is about 1,700 meters, but it is only about 200 meters higher than the city of Lanzhou at the bottom of the mountain. The mountain is not high, and it is not difficult to climb up. There are some courtyards of ancient buildings, temples, etc. on the road, as well as beautiful trees and lawns, etc., which can be seen one by one. Arrive at the top of the mountain to watch the White Pagoda, take a panoramic view of Lanzhou, and then go to the Lanzhou Forest of Steles behind the mountain, then go down the mountain and return. The general play time is about 2-3 hours. In addition, if the physical strength is insufficient, you can also take the Yellow River cableway on the other side of the Yellow River. The cableway passes through the Yellow River and reaches the mountainside of Baita Mountain. There are roughly three levels of ancient buildings on the climbing road of Baita Mountain, including huge archways, city towers and temple attics. Between these buildings, there are many trees, creating a tree-lined environment that is rare in the northwest, and it feels very comfortable when climbing. There are some lawns in the courtyard of the building, and wild flowers bloom every spring and summer, which is very beautiful. In addition, there will be people selling handicrafts such as gourd carvings and Yellow River stone carvings on the mountain road. They usually cost tens of dollars each, so you can buy them if you are interested. At the top of the mountain is a white pagoda with seven floors and a height of 17 meters. This pagoda was built by Kublai Khan in memory of Saban, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher who died here, and was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. One of the symbols is also the origin of the name of Baita Mountain. There are also cultural relics from the Ming and Qing Dynasties such as elephant skin drums and bronze bells on the top of the mountain. They are also the legendary treasures of Zhenshan. You can read the stories behind these cultural relics according to the introduction. More importantly, when you look back at the top of the mountain, you can see the panoramic view of Lanzhou city. A Yellow River passes through the city at the foot, and there are row upon row of buildings on both sides of the river bank, which is very spectacular. If you come here in the evening or after dark, the buildings and street lights are lit up, which is more suitable for shooting the beautiful night view of the city. On the northwest side behind the mountain, there is a forest of steles in Lanzhou, which is a similar circular ancient courtyard. On the inner side of the courtyard wall, there are reproductions of calligraphy and stone carvings of many famous calligraphers from ancient times to modern times. The historical Xining King Stele, "Huian Xibiao" and "Chunhua Pavilion Tie" have been copied or carved here. , in addition, there are calligraphy steles with special characters such as oracle bone inscriptions, Tibetan, Xixia script, and Basiba script, which are worth visiting. Tourists usually visit Baitashan Park, Lanzhou Waterwheel Expo Park, Zhongshan Bridge, etc. when they visit Lanzhou. If they have enough time, they will also add Gansu Provincial Museum. It is suggested that when arranging the itinerary, climb Baita Mountain in the afternoon, go down the mountain in the evening just to see the night scenery on both sides of the Yellow River, and then go to the Zhengning Road Night Market not far away to taste delicious snacks, which is very pleasant.
