Located in the high mountains and deep valleys of the Sanjiang River Basin in Qamdo District, Bangda Grassland is an alpine grassland with wide and gentle terrain and rich water and grass. The upper reaches of Yuqu, a tributary of the Nujiang River, meander through it. On both sides of the vast low-humid beach, there are dense and low meadow plants such as Artemisia annua and Carex, and the green grass is like felt. , Occasionally there will be some Tibetan gazelles haunting it.

This is a relatively good pasture in Tibet. The unique and rich grassland environment also makes Bangda the main production area of many medicinal plants, such as Fritillaria, Ginseng Fruit, Rhubarb, Gentiana and Rhodiola, among which Cordyceps sinensis is well-known and very valuable.

This used to be the place where the famous "Tea Horse Ancient Road" must pass. Now the Sichuan-Tibet, Sichuan-Yunnan and other highways have been opened through Tibet and Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai and other neighboring provinces. In 1995, a national highway was established on this plateau. It opened up the air route from Qamdo to Chengdu.
