Baoding Military Academy

Baoding Army Military Academy is the first formal military academy in modern Chinese history. It is located on Dongfeng East Road, Baoding City, Hebei Province. From 1912 to 1923, the Baoding Military Academy ran nine sessions, with more than 6,000 graduates, many of whom later became instructors at the Whampoa Military Academy. If counted from the Beiyang Military Academy, Baoding trained nearly 10,000 officers, of whom more than 1,600 were awarded the title of general.
