Baoding Town God's Temple was originally Qingyuan County Town God's Temple. In the first year of Taihe of the Northern Wei Dynasty (477), Qingyuan County was established. The county seat is located in the area of the present Provincial Prison and Mazhuang, and the Town God's Temple was built in the city. In the early 1970s, the Town God's Temple was converted into a guest house (now the Gucheng Hotel), and the Wuying Town God's Hall was still kept as a conference room. In 2006, after consultation with relevant departments, it was handed over to Taoist management, and the statue of the City God was rebuilt. It is a masterpiece of Cui Xinliang, a Taoist calligrapher and painter of Baoding and a member of Hebei Provincial Taoist Painting and Calligraphy Academy. It is now the resident of Baoding Taoist Association. Master Ren Farong, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Chinese Taoist Association, inscribed a plaque for the Town God's Temple, and Liu Chonghan, chairman of the Baoding Taoist Association, compiled the couplets in the main hall.
