Bayan Har Mountain is located in the south-central part of Qinghai. It is the southern branch of the Kunlun Mountains. It is connected to Hoh Xil Mountain in the west and Min Mountain and Qiongxia Mountain in the east. This is the watershed between the source areas of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River. The Yueguzong Lie Canal at the northern foot is the source of the Yellow River, and the southern foot is where the northern source of the Yangtze River is located.

Nian Baoyuze, also known as Guoluo Mountain, has a main peak of 5,369 meters above sea level and is located in Sohurima Township, Jiuzhi County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. According to legend, it is the birthplace of the Golok tribes, so it is highly respected. Nianbaoyuze Mountain is 40 kilometers long and 25 kilometers wide. It is composed of countless peaks above 4000 meters above sea level, and the main peak is 5369 meters. On the mountain, many lakes are formed by melting ice and snow. In addition to the well-known Fairy Lake and Yaonv Lake, there are also Rigamacuo, Marza Lake, and Maridang Lake, etc. There are more than 300 small lakes dotted around. It is said that there are 360, and the legend is that it was formed by the tears of homesickness shed by Princess Wencheng who passed by here when she entered Tibet.
