Bayi Square in Changzhi City was first built in 1969 and began to be remodeled in 1992. It now covers a total area of 114,333 square meters, including 44,717 square meters of green area and 1,963 square meters of pool area. With the rostrum as the center, the Shili Taihang Central Square covers an area of 7,200 square meters. In June 1993, the original trading center was demolished, and a large-scale sound-activated colorful music fountain was built in the center of the square. The fountain pool has a diameter of 50 meters and a water capacity of 1945 cubic meters, marking the liberation of Changzhi. 446 red, yellow, blue and green underwater floodlights are colorful. 1290 nozzles marked the bloody battle of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army in Taihang. With the beat of the music, a group of patterns are sprayed every 20 seconds, and the three main nozzles spray up to 36.9 meters, implying the economic prosperity of Changzhi.

Since I went to university and left home, I rarely have the opportunity to go back to my hometown, but Bayi Square is a place I have to go to every time I go home, especially the statue of Chairman Mao has been hanging on the rostrum for so many years. This square is the symbol of Changzhi.
