Tengchong Beihai Wetland belongs to plateau volcanic barrier lake ecosystem. This wetland reserve has charming scenery of flowers, reeds and flocks of birds in spring and summer. The floating grass row is made of grass roots over the years, floating on the water. Wild grass, drift grass and many unknown weeds and wild flowers, a piece of intoxicating blue makes you unable to tell whether it is a grassland or a lake. In autumn and winter, although the grass and trees are withered and yellow, large groups of migratory birds pass by, and you can see the spectacular scene of hundreds of thousands of birds flocking together.
You can walk into the center of the lake along the trestle bridge in the scenic area, and then take a boat ride. Of course, you can also row a boat by yourself and feel the feeling of holding sculls! In the past, the local people often used a small piece of grass raft cut at random as a bamboo raft to catch fish and shrimp; some people simply opened a hole in the grass raft, and put the fishing rod into the hole to fish, enjoying themselves. But now out of protection, the scenic area has banned grass-pai tourism. There is a row of farmhouse restaurants by the lake, and freshwater fish and shrimp are its specialties. Generally, tourists will pack Beihai and Volcano Park for a day trip. If they can’t make it back to Tengchong County, they can stay in a village near Beihai Wetland for one night.

1. The wetland presents different scenery with different seasons. Every year in the middle and late April, you can see the orchids in full bloom in the North Sea, which is very beautiful. In autumn and winter, although the color of the grass row is a little yellow, you can see flocks of water birds.
2. Grass paddle tourism is now prohibited in the scenic area. Although tourists can play on the grass paddles outside the scenic area, it is recommended not to take this unfriendly way of tourism.
