Beijing Planetarium is the first planetarium in China, which is divided into two halls, Hall A (old hall) and Hall B (new hall). The museum is dominated by wonderful theater displays. Visitors can learn about the origin and development of the universe and learn astronomical knowledge by watching shocking and exciting high-tech movies, observing the observatory, visiting exhibitions and other activities.

The Astronomical Hall is the most important hall area in Hall A. There is a spherical dome with a diameter of 23.5 meters in the hall. Advanced instruments are used to realistically restore about 9,000 stars visible to the naked eye on the earth, bringing the most realistic experience of the starry sky to the audience.

There are three astronomical theaters in Hall B, including the Cosmic Theater, 3D Theater, and 4D Theater, as well as various popular science education facilities such as the Astronomy Exhibition Hall, Solar Observatory, Public Observatory, and Astronomy Classroom.

Among them, the cosmic theater with a radius of 18 meters has a standard hemispheric all-sky screen, which can present a magnificent three-dimensional sky effect for 200 audiences at the same time, which is unique in mainland China.

The 4D theater can not only present lifelike three-dimensional images, but also produce various special effects such as water spray, wind spray, leg clapping, etc., bringing you an immersive and wonderful science experience. The 3D theater presents popular science knowledge to the audience with realistic and gorgeous three-dimensional effects, and truly achieves entertaining and educational.
