Beiting Duhufu is an administrative unit established in the Tang Dynasty of China to the north of the Tianshan Mountains in the Western Region. In the second year of Chang'an in the Wu Zhou Dynasty (702), Empress Wu Zetian set up Beiting Duhufu in Tingzhou (now Beipochengzi, Jimsar, Xinjiang), replacing Jinshan Duhufu, and managed the hometown of Western Turks, still belonging to Anxi Duhufu. The area under its jurisdiction is equivalent to the west of the Altai Mountains, the east of the Aral Sea, the north of the Tianshan Mountains and the area around the Balikun Lake.
