Bogda Peak, 5,445 meters above sea level, is surrounded by 113 glaciers, and the melted ice and snow converge into more than 30 rivers. Bogda Peak is a sacred mountain. Throughout the ages, people living here have all regarded it as the guardian god, calling it "the channel of the sky, the axis of the earth, and the abode of the gods." Bogda Peak is an ancient place for human beings to sacrifice to heaven. Worshiping the sky is the sacrifice at the top of the ancient culture of the Chinese nation, and the activities of worshiping the sky around the main peak of Bogda have never been interrupted for thousands of years. This ancient tradition has been followed from the prehistoric period of Xinjiang to the Qing Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Bogda Peak was officially included in the list of famous mountains commemorated by the state, and it was honored as "Fushou Mountain".
