Basic display

The basic display is the core display of the Capital Museum, including two parts: "The Ancient Capital of Beijing-History and Culture" and "Old Things in Beijing-Old Beijing Folklore Exhibition".

Located on the second floor of the square exhibition hall of the museum, it uses cultural relics and pictures to show the long road that Beijing developed from a northern frontier to the capital of a dynasty to the capital of New China.


"Old Things in Beijing - Old Beijing Folklore Exhibition"

Located on the fifth floor of the square exhibition hall, the exhibition uses the most characteristic symbols of Beijing's folk customs - hutongs and courtyards to reflect the theme of the exhibition. By displaying the marriage and childbirth, festivals and other activities of the hutong neighbors, it shows the living customs and various etiquettes of the old Beijingers in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.

Thematic display

The Capital Museum also has various special exhibitions in different exhibition halls, including: "Exhibition of Fine Art of Ancient Jade Art", "Exhibition of Fine Art of Yandi Bronze Art", "Exhibition of Ancient Buddhist Pagodas in Beijing", etc. These exhibitions are Complementary to Beijing's cultural presentation. 1. The Capital Museum provides free audio guide equipment, available in both Chinese and English, and can be handled at the information desk in the etiquette hall with your valid certificate.
